That's because most of the "half" of the politicians that "deny it's happening" KNOW it's happening... but their campaigns and support comes from Big Oil, or Big Beef (let's not forget all the methane billions of cows fart into the atmosphere - I'm not joking, AND I love eating a big ole steak now and then). Politicians only care about what they are paid to care about, and they vote accordingly. As for the half that say it's too expensive to fix... sadly they are fairly correct, it IS going to be incredibly expensive and time consuming. It's not going to be quick or easy to switch from fossil fuels to cleaner solutions. You have to start by educating our kids IN THE INDUSTRY so they can run the cleaner solutions - so they can start companies that are either providing the cleaner enerygy SOURCES, or industries that USE the cleaner energy sources - and those have to be built. It will take decades to turn this around - IF we have the political support TO change it - the question is: Does our planet have time to make the change?

Yes, I agree. I’m English but I came to live in Albania in 2004. The summers are always hot here but last year because of El Nino it was extremely difficult to cope with because of the high temperatures and 90% humidity some of the time. It’s also been like that for the past week. I’m just thankful that very shortly our Creator is going to sort out all our problems for us so that we can enjoy living on this beautiful planet as he intended. I feel like every time Long Island gets rain, it's a torrential downpour with high winds that snap trees in half. We haven't had rain in a while. The humidity is unbearable and I've barely been outside this weekend. Phoenix AZ on Friday was 114 degrees and June isn't even the hottest month of the year. The hottest months are yet to come.

The only reason to stop using gas vehicles is for cleaner air to breath. Which is a good enough reason of course! But electric vehicles also kill the planet because the SOURCE energy is still terrible for the environment. There is actually no big difference. We are transitioning into a La Nina, it's common to see record breaking temperatures during such an event. Nothing is "happening" to the weather that hasn't been happening for a very long time. Even if, the changes are so gradual we won't feel any major difference in our lifetime.
Remember when during the pandemic when we all stopped driving? Everything improved...air quality and some scientist showed how much just a few weeks did for the planet

What he’s saying is that changing behavior is hardest. People recognize there’s a climate crisis problem but asking people to get off fossil fuel is incredibly difficult. Just look at the car industry. Car companies all said EV don’t sell. Companies who decided to go for the new future can’t sell their products because there’s challenges in building charging stations. 😢
There's also the price of ev's, much publicised issues with charging in cold weather, battery fires that scare people out of buying....
Do research, hydrogen is the way to go. EVs do more damage to the environment obtaining materials like cobalt.
Because the 'climate crisis' is an entirely subjective/political belief, can't say I've noticed any such thing to be perfectly honest. But a car that costs twice as much, goes half the distance, takes 10 times as long to fuel up, with a fraction of the stations, and depreciates like a lead balloon... these are all real world tangible problems people don't want to deal with.
90 degree weather in June just isn't a 'crisis' to most people, it's actually a nice change from winter. Being stuck at a charger for an hour in an emergency, is a crisis.

It’s just that car companies need to get the EVs to the point where fuel cars are today, improving battery to the point that is resist to low temp. "New normal" implies that climate crisis is something we just "acclimatize" to. Talking and voting would have sufficed in the 1980s. We don't survive this as a species without actively protesting and radically changing our consumption habits. We need mandatory fuel rationing now. Get used to driving your car once a week, not every day. Start walking.
