Staying in sunny Cape Town, South Africa, surrounded by the most awesome beaches, this bag is perfect!!!! I tried it and I ended up having to make 6 more for my friends!! I incorporated some nice metal or painted wooden round beads at the ends of the drawstrings. Looks super cool.

Currently making this bag with a couple fat quarter bundles I picked up last summer. It's got a lot going on, but will be a fun (and huge) bag to carry either on vacation or when crafting or whenever, really! This is only the second time I've made a bag, and it's turning out pretty nice! I do need to order some nice straps, and I'm unsure if I'll put a toggle or not, but I'm pleased with how it's looking! Thanks for a great tutorial!!

Yes of course! A seamstress primarily makes garments and a sewist sews a wide variety of items.

I made this bag and it looked great, until I pulled up the drawstring, the bag would not close up like yours. What do you think I did wrong. Could my material be too thick. I was so disapointed as it was for a friend.

How many yards of fabric total is needed for this adorable project?
It's a minimum of 3 yards Toni. I regret that I didn't calculate that when I was creating the tutorial. So sorry.
