Awesome organization! I like how you grouped them into players and then by year. Thanks for sharing!
Very nice collection of baseball cards!! I still am searching for some of those gems for my collection. It appeared that you have some very nice condition cards,I would not waste the opportunity to add value to them by sending them in for grading,I’m sure it would be worth the wait in value!! Thanks for Sharing ,I ENjoyed it 👍👍
Love this idea. I’m going to start my collection today!
84 fleer update Clemens, as a kid I wanted that card BAD.
Just stumbled upon this video. No graded cards. Very cool. You’re collecting for all the right reasons. I just subscribed
Glad you enjoyed this video! Thank you for subscribing and welcome - I’ll be doing an update video on my collection sometime soon.
You know I love that Erstad! Amazing PC Jon! Love it
Killer collection! Very comprehensive. Congratulations on picking up some sweet rookies at very reasonable prices.
Awesome collection man! Thank you for sharing it with us
Best video yet man. Well organized, lots of good memories, and a fair number of first time seeing for me.
Awesome collection man! Tough to choose a favorite there, so many legends. The Brett, Marichal, Stargell, and Brock were smoking deals, well done!
I love Mike Sweeney too. I was a bat boy for the Rockford Royals, single A team for KC. When he was in the Minors, he was always nice to me and he’d toss the ball with the batboys occasionally.
Nice collection of rookies! Some of the older ones, you just take what you can find sometimes when you can find them at a reasonable price. Just to have them is nice. Great vid Jon! Thanks for sharing.
Hey Jon, nice video! Don Baylor's rookie is in the seventh series of the 1971 set. He shares the card with Dusty Baker - two great players who became great managers!
I love collecting RC cards pre-'90 and you have a great collection. I was waiting to see the 64 Niekro RC but you have the 65. Never picked up the Schmidt or Ozzie Smith but but always wanted one. Thanks for the video. Really enjoyed it.
Awesome video! Love that Jason Kendall. Easily my favorite Pirate of the late 90's.
Nice looking box of rookies. I just joined the community of and made some videos of my collection. You have great content. Looking forward to checking out your other videos.
Your collection and quality of videos has vastly improved since your original collection videos! I am very happy to see all the additions, but I am all the more jealous because of it. Thanks for showing us, hope you are well Jon!
Nice rookie collection. You are a true collector. . Like them all
I need to get organized with my rookie cards like this. Nice collection man. Happy holidays!
Enjoyed the video. Great rookie collection.
Great video...love RC...love how you organize your rookies...I include gold cups with mine...🤙🏽🥃
Good job man...this has made me want to make a video of my PC rookie card collection
Nice organization. I might just use this. Thanks jon.
Love Jim Abbott! Thanks for sharing.
What a spectacular collection! Nothing but respect for you, man. Such an impressive (HALF OF!?!) collection! I really want for you to pull that nnof, so you can slide that in the front of your 1990 section. You deserve it. Awesome presentation and AMAZING collection! Thanks
Thanks so much. I really appreciate it. Next update video hopefully the NNOF will be in there!
And Sparky as usual, NOT smiling...
you may have just inspired me to put together a rookie card collection like yours.
I was thinking the same thing! After watching this suddenly I feel like I'm really missing out on an amazing collection idea.
31:50 Dave Stewart's a very underrated player who I think belongs in the HOF!
@@willy565 Yes, Stewart was my favorite pitcher growing up. Big game pitcher. I remember him outpitching Clemens in the playoffs. He had an intimidating stare and nasty forkball. It's funny though that he sounded like Michael Jackson. Very soft spoken.
Sweet rookie collection Jon! Saving this to the favorites to watch a few times and see what I'm missing! Holy s#!t an 84 Donruss Mattingly for two bucks! Sharp Yount and Brett cards. Sweet Henderson...They're all awesome lol. Very cool man!
As always amazing video! Love ur cards man! Awesome collection brother!!!
Very fun to watch! My baseball RC collection is between 1,000 & 1,500 cards. Mostly 1970 to 2000. The criteria I decided to use was hitters with 1,000 hits or 100 HRs, and pitchers with 100 wins or 1,000 K's. There are additional exceptions as well, based on the player's history and/or possible post-playing career. I have the cards in alphabetical order in a couple binders. Always love looking through them (and adding to them). I also have probably a couple hundred from 2000 to present that need to be added in at some point (some are pending how they finish their careers). Looking forward to part 2!
Thanks Rich! It sounds like you have a pretty awesome collection. Appreciate you watching.
Great collection!
Nice collection. I have returned to the hobby recently. Had many of these cards when I was a dealer in the 80's. Sold many. Still have a few. I think I will concentrate on Cubs and White Sox now.
I wish I had that many RCs
You always have great videos
Great video awesome cards man
Love the Sparky Anderson great cards man
cool collection!
Nice John! I keeping in top loaders in a box like this, sorted alphabetically by player. Real good ones in the box in to poachers, and the so-so and hopeful to be rookies in a binder until they become "top loader worthy".
@@thepastisalive Thanks John! We had fun making that. Check out the bloopers and outtakes from it, you can see how much fun we had and all the screwups. LOL.
Love the 89 UD griffey, like you I wanted it so bad as a kid and had to get it as an adult.
Where do I even begin? Sweet rookie collection! A few that stood out for me, idk if the Loftons you have are considered his 'true' RC. If I recall, his 89 Bowman and (I think) 90 Leaf. He may have been in a couple update sets as well. The 88 Al Leiter, I had that as a kid, (error version). Errors were a big thing back then, as you know. Me being a naïve kid held onto it thinking it would be worth something (lol). I think I have doubles of the 93 Topps Shawn Greene card and I noticed you're missing the Jim Thome 92 Upper deck rookie. I have that as well. Ok, I'm done, good stuff though!
Vary nice collection of rookies! I have a lot of those cards but not all I'm trying to get every card I wanted as a kid just picked up a 68 Ryan rc psa 6 it looks amazing for a 6 it's definitely off center but that's all I could afford lol thanks for sharing really enjoyed this one!!!
Thanks Peter! Awesome pick up on the Ryan rookie. I have one too and completely forgot to include him in this video. Mine is a pretty beat - it was a flea market find for $50 but still a Ryan rookie nonetheless. Appreciate you watching!
Thanks buddy..didint realize in 97 i bought 4 boxes of the fleer ultra finding many of those cards of Ortiz ,,ty sir,,love your videos..
@@thepastisalive yes sir thank you.. finding out more about cards I have buried.. love that stuff..we can never have to Many card's..I couldn't imagine how much you have...😍✌️
Wow, I love the old Danny Murtaugh card! Didn't know that even existed.
Awesome collection....a PSA 10 of Killerbrew sold recently for $26,000!!
Very nice!
Awesome cards
my childhood. makes me want to collect again
This got me thinking, are there any other guys like Schilling, since 1981 with only 1 rookie card? The closest I can think off the top of my head is Miggy with 2 (Topps Traded and Chrome).
Very nice set sir.
Nice collection!
85 Topps... Oh man that Dwight Gooden rookie card is burned into my brain. Probably my most memorable card. Thatvand the Eric Davis.
That 3 row box with the dividers and top loaders is my identical setup.
Sweet collection
Sweet, enjoyed
Bo Diaz was 37 when he passed away in 1990. He was adjusting the direction of his satellite on his roof and it crushed him . Pretty crazy way to go to say the least. Underrated player in his day.
very sad. didn't know about him. i remember the Indians boating accident that killed i think Steve Olin and maybe one other pitcher. 90s Cubs have also had a bunch of freak premature deaths among their pitchers, Frank Castillo drowned, Jeremi Gonzalez got struck by lightning, Kevin Foster had some disease.
@@georgial6398 I remember that as well. Tim Crews was the other player who died. Bob Ojeda was with them , had a head injury but survived.
You and your brother should play a baseball game on like xbox or Playstation and stream it here. Jabs Vs Jabs.
I think it would be awesome. Use mics and talk back and forth during the game. I think people would go nuts
Great video
Nice and organized, must mean the G.I. Joe video is almost done! Well done sir! 😂👍🏼
Seriously though, really good video Jon!
😂 everything always leads back to the damn GI Joe video haha. Thanks Mark!
That's amuzing to see the Topps Carlos Beltran error, when i opened these back then i got 4 of each. They didn't correct the error. My entire vintage collection looks alot like your pre-2000 rookie collection
Nope, they never did. I’m excited to crack open a box of 95 Traded tomorrow night in search of the missing rookies and that error.
Haha, that's pretty good. You have all the rookies that were hot in the 80s. ..But where Bobby Bonilla?
So many stars! Guys I totally forgot about too. Pat “ The Bat”, Sean Casey, Nomo etc..
Nice collection. I have the Killebrew too.. I guess the Trout is my most valuable. I paid $200 for a psa 9 when I got back in the hobby and the price keeps going up and up
I was here for that video. I think your brother may have mentioned your channel so I bounced over from there.
i have that 1991 upper deck set... 2 of them actually. got them for a buck a piece!
Awesome collection. But sadly uou are missing one of my favorite players of all time Chris Sabo but yeah love this video
Great collection, really liked the video. Only good card I can think of that was missing is the 92 Bowman Mariano Rivera.
Thanks for watching. Good call on the Rivera - I have the set in a binder and completely forgot to pull him and several other cards for this video.
Reminder jim abbott had one arm and was a pitcher who caught balls also and had a heater 🔥😂
You have a very nice rookie collection
Thanks John! I realized I left some pretty good ones out. Guess I’ll have to do another update video next year ha
HUGE Giles fan from his time with the Tribe.
Wow man, great collection. I have been out of the hobby for most of my adult life, but will be getting back in with 2021 season. How do the rookie cards work, do we already know which hot rookie cards we will be looking for or will that depend on other factors. Curious and can't find the answer anywhere. Happy holidays!
Gotta get you a Pete Rose and a Nolan Ryan. THEY ARE A MUST HAVE for a collection like that John
I do have the Ryan rookie but there’s several rookies that I forgot to include from another box lol. Go figure. I’ve been keeping an eye out for a Rose but just haven’t pulled the trigger yet.
@@thepastisalive Jealousy dude i have complete jealousy of your collection lol
Thanks for showing us your stacked RC collection! You have some really awesome cards! Look forward to seeing part 2 of your RC collection. No 89 Score Traded Griffey Jr or did I miss it?
Thanks Chris! I’m glad you pointed that out because that made me realize quite a few that were left out of this video due to being in another box.
I never knew about the Randy Johnson Fleer Marlborough Card until a week ago. Then I found 2 of them in some old homemade sets I bought! PSA here I come!
@@thepastisalive I randomly came across your channel not long ago and wanted to tell you its one of my favorite card channels! Thank you for the interesting content you create. I look forward to seeing future vids! Also, I'd like to send you a box of random packs of cards. I thought maybe you could make a video of the openings. Im going to include a bunch of different series and sports (baseball, basketball, football & golf) even some classic movie card packs! Where can I send them to help show my support of your channel? Thank you for responding, I appreciate your channel!
@@DumpsterDivin_Ty thanks a lot for the kind words! Glad to have you here! Thanks a bunch for offering to send some packs...I could surely use them for a future video. My shipping info is

Thanks again and glad you are enjoying my channel!
Where's the Mantle rookie? Just kidding! Thanks for taking the time to put this together. Nice collection!
Put those cards in a team bag also to protect against humidity and dust
I scored that David Ortiz ultra rc in a twins team set for $39 for the whole team.....Great deal i thought. Oh and its perfect. Glossy , no chipped edges or corners...was so stoked
What a RC collection! Where was the Big Mac 87 topps and Donruss the rookies??
That’s a good point. There are quite a few that for excluded accidentally!
When’s the 2000’s part coming out? I can’t wait for it!
I never thought about collecting primarily rookies before this channel. I've always only PCed my favorite few players. I might have to rethink my collecting
