My friend just told me about this law! Everyone who fishes or hunts lawfully is protected by this law!! :) Fish and Game Code Section 2009. (a) A person shall not willfully interfere with the participation of any individual in the lawful activity of shooting, hunting, fishing, falconry, or trapping at the location where that activity is taking place. (b) A violation of this section is an infraction punishable by a fine of not less than one hundred dollars ($100) nor more than five hundred dollars ($500). (c) If any person is convicted of a violation of this section and the offense occurred within two years of another separate violation of this section which resulted in a conviction, the violation is a misdemeanor punishable by a fine of not less than one hundred dollars ($100) nor more than one thousand dollars ($1,000), by imprisonment in the county jail for not more than one year, or by both that fine and imprisonment. (d) This section does not apply to the actions of any peace officer or personnel of the department in the performance of their official duties. This section does not obstruct the rights and normal activities of landowners or tenants, including, but not limited to, farming, ranching, and limiting unlawful trespass. (e) In order to be liable for a violation of this section, the person is required to have had the specific intent to interfere with the participation of an individual who was engaged in shooting, hunting, fishing, falconry, or trapping. (f) For purposes of this section, “interfere with” means any action which physically impedes, hinders, or obstructs the lawful pursuit of any of the above-mentioned activities, including, but not limited to, actions taken for the purpose of frightening away animals from the location where the lawful activity is taking place.
@@delvinfernaldy4504 Hi Delvin, Nope, that is not the right way! If the hook is on the lip, you can easily remove it. If it is in the stomach, you should just cut the line. If you pull the hook that is stuck on the stomach, that kills the fish!!
I would immediately contact DFG and submit the uncensored video to them, a description of the man, and a copy of this and report him. He should be fined.
Show his face and share it on our local fishing sites ! Let's find out who he is and let our own let him know that what he did to you is unacceptable. I'm sure 99% of real fishermen would agree!
This is why, it is important to learn better hook removal as an Angler. I can remove hooks others cannot, because of a few tricks. Sure, everyone still kills fish that swallow the hook sometimes, but you can up their chances of survival and less injury, with expert hook removal of even swallowed hooks and proper, gentle release, not yeet it into the water. That fish=totally savable with minimal injury and without leaving the hook in it like the idiot. Anyone does that to me, ever, they are eating a reel and rod. That or it will go in the other end. Lol.

Here in Croatia it would be the first and last time he did that. Though it wouldn't be a nice scene in front of the kid. If somebody is fishing you must give him space and you don't even come close, except if asked politely you let him see the fish.

I once had this situation with some karens. I was fishing with my sister in a famous lake on my city there the water is so clean that you can swim olso you can freely fishing in some part of the year and in some part of the lake. So it was the fishing season and we decided to go. I was 12 years old and my sister was 9. For fishing anyway you need a license. And my dad gives to us this license for presents for our good grades. So... My dad and my family where about to start the BBQ and meanwhile we where waiting we started to fishing. Everything cool, we decided the best spot and we catch some fishing and decided to put them to a net waiting the time the grill was ready to eating. (my grandmother promised to us if we fished some big persico, we could learn how to cookit and we did it.) Everything great everything fine UNTIL the karen attack. This with a huge unlished dog start to seeing us. And my little sister when she saw that woman with this Huge dog decided to go to pet him. This Karen started to yell to her about the fact she was illegaly fishing, she was not acting like a lady and she was acting like a trump boy and I shuld be ashamed to don't be a good example to my sister. In the meantime i was pulling a persico in the land. And once i heard what she was saying about my sister. (who start to cry because that karen started to cursing her and saying that she would not allow "a dirty girl" touching is dog) i immediately want in berserk mood. I put the fish in the net with all the rest of the fishih. And i go straight to my sister yelling to that lady that she is not allowed to curse my little sister. In the meantime my dad arrived. This lady started to scream like my dad was intimidating her. (kinda true If you think about the fact you make my sister cry and he is very muscled) but in that situation he was really calm. In the meantime the unlished dog want straight to the net and stared to smell it. The lady runs to the Dog sees the net full of fishing and decided to trow them to the lake. With my little sister starting to cry more loud asking to not trowed them. In the meantime the dog started to chase the fish and since she did not trowed them he easily catches one. So... You can immagin how mad me and my dad was he order to me and my sister to go straight to our grandmothe. And he started to talk with that woman. What he told to her? Couldn't hear it but i saw the face of that woman. To green to white in 0 time. She came and she "apologized" to my sister but the damage was done. My sister was so sad that day that we take ours to console her. She was so scared to fish again because she fears that lady arrived again. Only after anodher luky catch she decided to join again with me.
@@ManicMindTrick Karens at their core, are bullies... same with their male equals, the Kyles of the world... though, i know a few people named kyle who are cool/all right.. i also know a couple people named karen who arent "karens"... but..i weirdly have known far more karens and kyles who were/are... the stereotype to a tee. bullying is what karens do.. they love to use cops to bully when they can.. i had the distinct joy of causing a buddies karen-karen, who lived 2 houses down and across the street... to get herself arrested, she was SURE we were fishing illegally..its a public lake, and nobody owns any part of the shore of that one privately, she harassed us for hours, we lured her to an area we knew she would cause problems and cops who drive by would stop to check it out.. she not only got arrested for assault, and crulety to animals(she threw a fish after ripping its lower jaw off trying to "Save" it from the fisherman who was going to realse it, he was only after a specific type of fish and had even said "this ones going back" more then once as he pulled it in... she ended up with a stack of charges including assaulting 2 officers, they put a paper mask over her face and tied it with a zip tie so she couldnt remove it after she spit in cops faces... her husband also ended up paying for over 1.5k in fishing gear she damaged/destroyed or caused to be lost to the waters of the lake(we got them back with the help of a buddy with a dive compressor who found out why we wanted to use his rig, and brougth a few friends, they found alot fo shit under the old dock spots including a tackle box that, we had no idea how, but that had ben down there for over 30 years at the time, and the guys pocket watch that was in the top, was dry...the air pocket had remained intact all those years.. his ID and stuff were in there, he actually gave me $578usd(all the cash he had on him) when i decided to have the guy driving stop by the addy the wallet had on it, the guy also ended up giving us all some fishing gear and took us on his boat, he was so happy, that was his great grandads pocket watch, it was/is engraved with info about all the years he worked as a train engineer, its solid silver hadnt even tarnished that much(prob because there wasnt much air), wound and worked when i pulled it out of the box our friend handed me as he went back for more stuff they found... they also found an unopened safe that had explosive damage to the side.... making it near impossible to get it open safely back in the day... turned out it was stolen from a wealthy family back in the day, but, the guy never admitted what he did with it, the family actually paid to have it opened by somebody we knew, who spent several days getting into it without damaging the stuff inside... to everybodies shock..that was dry inside as well, the gaskets hadnt been broken by the explosives they tried to open it with... (stump explosives the story gos according to the cops and old timers), the fellow never did time over it but, ended up in prison for something else unrelated. where when he found out he had cancer, he wrote down a bunch of shit he did, with enough details that the cases could be solved, somehow, he survived and the courts apparently took his letter into account and he got out on probation...only to endup killed by a drunk driver within a week of getting out... the family actually gave our little group a reward, the diver who found it ended up with some IBM and J&J stock from the WWII era, not alot but enough he actually was able to get it setup such that, hes never going to be homeless or without income... not a ton of money at once but instead, hes "Set for life" with the plan they went with, the family didnt give a shit about the socks/bonds or even cash, they wanted the keepsakes and the original copy of great grandads original will... i understand from the grandkids of the people who gave us rewards..the best being a buddy getting stocks and his gf being given a few bonds worth a nice bit.. she was one of the other divers, and had helped him get the thing rigged so it could be pulled up by us with a rope...that was a FUCKING PAIN IN THE ASSSSSSSS the family though..heard from somebody at the gun range across the way about it and they came out to see ifit was true... funniest part.. that safe had it not been damaged, according to our friends locksmith father and grandfather, would have almost 100% opened if you had the combo...the tumbler design in them was better then the rest of their era and even many today, and...well, the company that made it gave us each $175 for the safe and video/images of the results...the fact it was dry inside when the outside, you could tell it had been underwater a while... its im told, in the companies main office inside a thick glass case with the images and VHS video we had of the results... the diving actually started over knowing a woman threw fishing gear in and wanting to help out the people harmed... or if they didnt want the help... new fishing gear for yourself... i have found in life, mostly "helping never helps" (you just endup fucking yourself by trying) but, sometimes, it does pay off... if karma were real, karens would be the ones suffering..rather then making others suffer.

I remember having a similar experience, i pulled in a trout (it was in my hand by that point) and a guy was like "i hope your gonna let it go" and i replied "nope, that's my supper" and dispatched the fish with a wooden club right in front of him and put it in my box. He wasn't happy, started insulting me, said "why did you have to do that, you could of bought a trout from the supermarket" i remember replying "You do know where the ones from the supermarket come from right? Plus i just saved five bucks catching one myself!" what a dumbass, he went on about not hurting animals, yeah i wouldn't hurt animals but if im gonna eat one im gonna kill it first i'm not a savage!
When I was in college, my professor had us do some research on big business farm animals. The animals that are used for the supermarkets are treated far worst. They are completely inhuman. I feel like if you don't hunt and understand that way of life then you have no business talking. The animals that are hunted and fished are dispatch far more humane than those that are on our shelves at the supermarkets and most importantly have a far better life in the wild before they go to the dinner table, unlike those in the supermarkets. Everybody knows that. So who is worst? The fisherman/hunter or the ones who buy from abusive meat markets. Either way I'm gonna eat... But if I knew how I would hunt/fish.
Had he been talking to someone else, I could imagine his ass getting shot right there. I believe in hunting and fishing etc. and I think you should in a way respect the game you catch and be thankful you caught it but either way, life goes on and if we "don't hurt the animals maaan", something else will take it, that's how it works in this world. My point being, might as well take it ourselves because 1. if a wild animal gets it, depending on the animal, it would be a lot worse than if someone just gave it a quick hit on the head and it's instantly dead. 2. It's fucking life so we're going to kill some things for food and sport.

As soon as that kid walked up saying "Let me take a look at him" like they were judge & jury on what that other guy could & could not do. I would have picked up MY fish & told them to back off. @@Opaleye The problem with this, that I really despise, is that a skilled Angler, can remove even swallowed hooks with minimal damage. A lip hook like that, easy peasy, but this guy caused WAY more damage with his ignorance. Trusty long needle nose pliers can work wonders, right?! Those curved tip long needle nose are nice too. With the right tools and knowledge, a good Angler can hit a 80-90% successful release rate. I have and it's not terribly hard, just patience and angles and some creative twisting. With CZcams, even easier, you have a visual guide and people have done some great vids on hook removal techniques.
@@timbillings6884 Yeah and not to mention fishing line doesn't biodegrade and the hook could get dislodged and fall on the lake etc. floor, becoming a risk for humans, animals and other creatures. Sure, everyone is going to lose hooks, lures, snap lines etc., but if you can avoid doing it unnecessarily, keep the hook and tackle and remove it properly, it's a win, win, win. You save money, save polluting unnecessarily and give the fish and other creatures a better chance. The other way, nobody wins.

I had a woman walk past me last week, while I had a stingray on the beach. She looked over my shoulder, as I was removing the hook, and said, poor thing. I never moved my head, I just shifted my eyes toward her, slowly smiled and said, "I love to kill them all. Kill everyone". Then I closed my eyes and inhaled deeply 10x. I learned that in therapy.. When I opened my eyes, she was gone. That's the first time anyone has ever started to say something to me while fishing. Honestly, I don't think I would have handled this well.
@@ManicMindTrick LOL, this sounds crazy but, I got angry at my therapist a couple of weeks ago and quit. It was a pain to have to meet up 2x a week anyway, so it's good. I am not sure that they feel pain the same way we do, yet I do think it is wrong for him to touch this man's trophy. Also, the "ripping it out" was worse than taking the time to unhook it, yes.
If you fish, fish. If you get one hooked: Wheel it in, unhook it, and release it. Don't fucking rip it out of it's mouth. They live searching and eating smaller versions of themselves. They can take a puncture hole in their mouth. On rare occasions, you can catch the same one, who went back for the bait. If you rip it out, obviously, you're doing way more damage than it can handle.

I once had this situation with some karens.
I was fishing with my sister in a famous lake on my city there the water is so clean that you can swim olso you can freely fishing in some part of the year and in some part of the lake.
So it was the fishing season and we decided to go.
I was 12 years old and my sister was 9.
For fishing anyway you need a license. And my dad gives to us this license for presents for our good grades.
So... My dad and my family where about to start the BBQ and meanwhile we where waiting we started to fishing. Everything cool, we decided the best spot and we catch some fishing and decided to put them to a net waiting the time the grill was ready to eating.
(my grandmother promised to us if we fished some big persico, we could learn how to cookit and we did it.)
Everything great everything fine UNTIL the karen attack.
This with a huge unlished dog start to seeing us. And my little sister when she saw that woman with this Huge dog decided to go to pet him.
This Karen started to yell to her about the fact she was illegaly fishing, she was not acting like a lady and she was acting like a trump boy and I shuld be ashamed to don't be a good example to my sister.
In the meantime i was pulling a persico in the land. And once i heard what she was saying about my sister. (who start to cry because that karen started to cursing her and saying that she would not allow "a dirty girl" touching is dog) i immediately want in berserk mood. I put the fish in the net with all the rest of the fishih. And i go straight to my sister yelling to that lady that she is not allowed to curse my little sister.
In the meantime my dad arrived. This lady started to scream like my dad was intimidating her.
(kinda true If you think about the fact you make my sister cry and he is very muscled) but in that situation he was really calm.
In the meantime the unlished dog want straight to the net and stared to smell it.
The lady runs to the Dog sees the net full of fishing and decided to trow them to the lake.
With my little sister starting to cry more loud asking to not trowed them.
In the meantime the dog started to chase the fish and since she did not trowed them he easily catches one.
So... You can immagin how mad me and my dad was he order to me and my sister to go straight to our grandmothe. And he started to talk with that woman.
What he told to her? Couldn't hear it but i saw the face of that woman. To green to white in 0 time.
She came and she "apologized" to my sister but the damage was done.
My sister was so sad that day that we take ours to console her. She was so scared to fish again because she fears that lady arrived again. Only after anodher luky catch she decided to join again with me.

bullying is what karens do.. they love to use cops to bully when they can.. i had the distinct joy of causing a buddies karen-karen, who lived 2 houses down and across the street... to get herself arrested, she was SURE we were fishing illegally..its a public lake, and nobody owns any part of the shore of that one privately, she harassed us for hours, we lured her to an area we knew she would cause problems and cops who drive by would stop to check it out.. she not only got arrested for assault, and crulety to animals(she threw a fish after ripping its lower jaw off trying to "Save" it from the fisherman who was going to realse it, he was only after a specific type of fish and had even said "this ones going back" more then once as he pulled it in... she ended up with a stack of charges including assaulting 2 officers, they put a paper mask over her face and tied it with a zip tie so she couldnt remove it after she spit in cops faces... her husband also ended up paying for over 1.5k in fishing gear she damaged/destroyed or caused to be lost to the waters of the lake(we got them back with the help of a buddy with a dive compressor who found out why we wanted to use his rig, and brougth a few friends, they found alot fo shit under the old dock spots including a tackle box that, we had no idea how, but that had ben down there for over 30 years at the time, and the guys pocket watch that was in the top, was dry...the air pocket had remained intact all those years.. his ID and stuff were in there, he actually gave me $578usd(all the cash he had on him) when i decided to have the guy driving stop by the addy the wallet had on it, the guy also ended up giving us all some fishing gear and took us on his boat, he was so happy, that was his great grandads pocket watch, it was/is engraved with info about all the years he worked as a train engineer, its solid silver hadnt even tarnished that much(prob because there wasnt much air), wound and worked when i pulled it out of the box our friend handed me as he went back for more stuff they found...
they also found an unopened safe that had explosive damage to the side.... making it near impossible to get it open safely back in the day... turned out it was stolen from a wealthy family back in the day, but, the guy never admitted what he did with it, the family actually paid to have it opened by somebody we knew, who spent several days getting into it without damaging the stuff inside... to everybodies shock..that was dry inside as well, the gaskets hadnt been broken by the explosives they tried to open it with... (stump explosives the story gos according to the cops and old timers), the fellow never did time over it but, ended up in prison for something else unrelated. where when he found out he had cancer, he wrote down a bunch of shit he did, with enough details that the cases could be solved, somehow, he survived and the courts apparently took his letter into account and he got out on probation...only to endup killed by a drunk driver within a week of getting out...
the family actually gave our little group a reward, the diver who found it ended up with some IBM and J&J stock from the WWII era, not alot but enough he actually was able to get it setup such that, hes never going to be homeless or without income... not a ton of money at once but instead, hes "Set for life" with the plan they went with, the family didnt give a shit about the socks/bonds or even cash, they wanted the keepsakes and the original copy of great grandads original will... i understand from the grandkids of the people who gave us rewards..the best being a buddy getting stocks and his gf being given a few bonds worth a nice bit.. she was one of the other divers, and had helped him get the thing rigged so it could be pulled up by us with a rope...that was a FUCKING PAIN IN THE ASSSSSSSS the family though..heard from somebody at the gun range across the way about it and they came out to see ifit was true... funniest part.. that safe had it not been damaged, according to our friends locksmith father and grandfather, would have almost 100% opened if you had the combo...the tumbler design in them was better then the rest of their era and even many today, and...well, the company that made it gave us each $175 for the safe and video/images of the results...the fact it was dry inside when the outside, you could tell it had been underwater a while... its im told, in the companies main office inside a thick glass case with the images and VHS video we had of the results...
the diving actually started over knowing a woman threw fishing gear in and wanting to help out the people harmed... or if they didnt want the help... new fishing gear for yourself...
i have found in life, mostly "helping never helps" (you just endup fucking yourself by trying) but, sometimes, it does pay off...

I remember having a similar experience, i pulled in a trout (it was in my hand by that point) and a guy was like "i hope your gonna let it go" and i replied "nope, that's my supper" and dispatched the fish with a wooden club right in front of him and put it in my box. He wasn't happy, started insulting me, said "why did you have to do that, you could of bought a trout from the supermarket" i remember replying "You do know where the ones from the supermarket come from right? Plus i just saved five bucks catching one myself!" what a dumbass, he went on about not hurting animals, yeah i wouldn't hurt animals but if im gonna eat one im gonna kill it first i'm not a savage!
When I was in college, my professor had us do some research on big business farm animals. The animals that are used for the supermarkets are treated far worst. They are completely inhuman. I feel like if you don't hunt and understand that way of life then you have no business talking. The animals that are hunted and fished are dispatch far more humane than those that are on our shelves at the supermarkets and most importantly have a far better life in the wild before they go to the dinner table, unlike those in the supermarkets. Everybody knows that. So who is worst? The fisherman/hunter or the ones who buy from abusive meat markets. Either way I'm gonna eat... But if I knew how I would hunt/fish.

I believe in hunting and fishing etc. and I think you should in a way respect the game you catch and be thankful you caught it but either way, life goes on and if we "don't hurt the animals maaan", something else will take it, that's how it works in this world. My point being, might as well take it ourselves because 1. if a wild animal gets it, depending on the animal, it would be a lot worse than if someone just gave it a quick hit on the head and it's instantly dead. 2. He showed he had an inferiority complex or beta complex and was trying to demean the fisherman to elevate himself away from his feeling of being smaller. As soon as that kid walked up saying "Let me take a look at him" like they were judge & jury on what that other guy could & could not do. I would have picked up MY fish & told them to back off. @@Opaleye The problem with this, that I really despise, is that a skilled Angler, can remove even swallowed hooks with minimal damage. A lip hook like that, easy peasy, but this guy caused WAY more damage with his ignorance. Trusty long needle nose pliers can work wonders, right?!
Those curved tip long needle nose are nice too. With the right tools and knowledge, a good Angler can hit a 80-90% successful release rate. I have and it's not terribly hard, just patience and angles and some creative twisting. With CZcams, even easier, you have a visual guide and people have done some great vids on hook removal techniques.
If you cut the line and release the fish the hook will rust out.!!!
@@timbillings6884 Yeah and not to mention fishing line doesn't biodegrade and the hook could get dislodged and fall on the lake etc. floor, becoming a risk for humans, animals and other creatures.
Sure, everyone is going to lose hooks, lures, snap lines etc., but if you can avoid doing it unnecessarily, keep the hook and tackle and remove it properly, it's a win, win, win. You save money, save polluting unnecessarily and give the fish and other creatures a better chance. The other way, nobody wins.

I had a woman walk past me last week, while I had a stingray on the beach. She looked over my shoulder, as I was removing the hook, and said, poor thing. I never moved my head, I just shifted my eyes toward her, slowly smiled and said, "I love to kill them all. Kill everyone". Then I closed my eyes and inhaled deeply 10x. I learned that in therapy.. When I opened my eyes, she was gone. That's the first time anyone has ever started to say something to me while fishing. Honestly, I don't think I would have handled this well.

Most states have laws that prevent interference with hunting or fishing. I looked our law up, so I'm ready. If someone does this to me, I'm going to bust their head. ;-)
Now, that fish is definitely going to die, it cannot eat with that hook still stuck in its mouth.(somewhere, I saw this exact same scenario play out with some guy catching, tagging, then releasing fish on a dock, only to have some stupid “hero” activist, snap the line, & toss the fish, claiming to have “saved” it)…

Like the post above states, He ripped the line in half causing the hook to progress further down the fishes throat most likely causing the fish to die due to internal blood loss
I am not sure that they feel pain the same way we do, yet I do think it is wrong for him to touch this man's trophy. Also, the "ripping it out" was worse than taking the time to unhook it, yes.

They can take a puncture hole in their mouth.
On rare occasions, you can catch the same one, who went back for the bait.
