Any advice on how to come up with recipes?
I have several products I would like to try to make, but don't have a clue how to actually make it and everything I've tried looking up is overwhelming.
I have 11 cats and I think me making my skincare would include cat hairs đ

What's an acceptable margin of error when formulating? What if an ingredient goes over by point 1 or point 3? Is it okay to move on or what?
I think it depends on how large of a batch you are making and what ingredient it is. Like if Iâm making a 1,000 gram batch and I accidentally pour 5 grams over of rose hydrosol it isnât much of a big deal.
But a good way to make sure you always measuring accurately is to measure it out in a separate container and then pour it into your beaker.

Iâm so glad you found it motivating. I started learning by reading random things on the internet. Then one day I came across the blog swiftcraftymonkey. I learned about the foundation of formulating there. Then after that I just started teaching my self and experimenting. You can learn a lot from ingredient suppliers. They provide so much information on how to use each of their ingredients and sometimes provide example recipes

Oh gosh idk. Iâve just bought things little by little over the years. Lol
I didnât even have a room to formulate in at first. I just had one small cabinet filled with ingredients and made everything in my kitchen when I first started
