Adam Savage has a great way to find objects that have dropped on the floor, he sends a scout object of similar size to help find the thing that dropped. Lets say a screw fell off your table and obviously you have no idea where it went. Push a similar size screw off of the table and watch where it goes, more often than not, this has helped Adam find the the screw, or whichever object.
sounds risky and kinda dumb, then you just have two things to pickup considering things have a lot of randomness when they hit the ground and how they bounce. not calling adam dumb but intuitively sounds like a bad idea.
@lavahawk how you have proof to back that claim?
I have a better idea... Use a magnet on a pole. Can't find a spring like this since well, it's a spring. You pull it and it flings. Then you spend an hour looking for the thing. Screws are easier because for one, they roll in a circle, they're not cylindrical and can't roll far away. Also, they don't fling. If the idea works for you then that's good and I am happy, but personally I just find using a magnet much easier for metal things since 90% of the time I hear roughly where it drops.
Just shine a flashlight along the floor. Anything that is there will cast a shadow.
Why not just remove the entire room? All that will be left is the screw. Easy.
Old nerds, unite!
Surprisingly simple mechanism and fast build. It's amazing what one design breakthrough can make to a whole project.
I remember they did a old one
Jairus of All picked a MUCH harder arm-knife project with Cyberpunk 2077's mantis blade.
He may have lost some sanity points in the process.
YEEESSSS also wheres the canadian assassin creed game 😅
YESSSSSS LONG HAVE I AWAITED THIS MOMENT
You know what would be kinda neat? The Doom Slayers wrist blade. I just think it would be cool but it would be very heavy and hard to activate. It would also probably be weak due to telescoping segments. I doubt it would work but it's a cool thought.
The fact you cut off the ring finger on the mannequin was such a nice touch for us AC nerds! Love the attention to detail at Hacksmith Industries!
There is no way they aren't on the CIA watchlist
Wow, this takes me back to my Assassin's Creed days! Amazing work, Hacksmith team!
You were an assassin. Must of been nice
How do I keep finding your channel it’s everywhere💀💀
🦶🫦🥵
Dude where is your name
@@a-Xbox-fan They basically steal a account with more than 100k subcribers and use it to comment everywhere. There is a documentary on it.
Dam, brings back memories of making hidden blades out of drawer slide and a spring
Hey those designs were pretty darn good though. I always wanted one of those ring design ones
@@XSRVX_01 Ya as a fellow 12 year old back then, I wanted to wrap my head around the 'spinny" knife closing contraption some did.
To be honest with you, i probably would still do another drawer design. It was simple. Now days we have all these intricate designs, pretty close to the real thing yes but materials thats are not very acceptable nor the comprehension to create such a design.
Dude the drawer slide... Peak of my junior years lol.
i remember this 🤦♂️
Here's my favorite I'm-losing-touch-with-reality moment from playing too much AC. This was several years ago now. I was helping a friend teach marching to his indoor winter drumline at a high school where he was the band director. We were practicing in the school's gym and I decided I wanted a more top-down view of the kids. The gym used the kind of bleachers that would collapse against the wall and we didn't have whatever was necessary to pull them out, so I just climbed up to the top. It was probably about 30ft. When I was ready to get down, I nearly jumped, thinking that as long as I roll when hitting the ground I would be fine. That's when I realized I was playing too much AC.
Good thing you realized that before you jumped and not in mid-air XD
No need to roll, the key is to land in a haystack. You would know this if you had played enough AC. However, it often doesn't work because IRL is running at more than 60 fps.
@@MG_Spy I nearly did jump. Almost had a heart attack.
@@MG_SpyJust remember it's not the fall that hurts but the sudden stop at the end.
The fact that you just climes up 30ft without a second though it very impresive
Get him to notice this comment to see him make Fallout T-45 power armour
YES!!! I need this now.
There are no such batteries in the world yet
@@lepaj6902 Even if not functional it'd be a great build. Although probably a massive overtaking. Although I suppose he could combine it with his exoskeleton stuff to help move it instead.
@@lepaj6902 The "batteries" you are referring to are known as fusion cores which are essentially tiny nuclear reactors. So it's technically not even a battery at all! Of course a nuclear reactor of that size is currently not plausible with our current technology, but only time can tell how much technology will advance in the future.
Is that was reworked Patrick Bateman's speech in the end?
Yup
I couldn't pinpoint the reference in my memory, so I searched the comments for this, thanks.
Canadian Psycho
The shot of on top of the dozer dressed as an assassin was amazing.
It made me tingly
There is probably someone driving down the highway like what the fuck is that guy doing
That American Psycho reference at the end was a nice touch
I actually made a working one of these with lego and elastic bands back when i was like, 9 years old.
The blade was a lego propellor blade, and the whole thing worked on a pull trigger that you pulled with the elastic bands.
The only bad side was that you had to push back the blade manually because i had no idea how to do that.
By far one of the best things i had ever made with lego, and to be honest i don’t think i could replicate the same thing today.
I knew they'd use the Zipline 😂
When you have a zipline, you will find ways to use it.
Hmm... delivering a picnic basket via zipline? Or a pic-a-nic basket, if you have a bear problem.
8:52 didn't realize Ezio was assassinating in the Animal Crossing village today!
The mechanism behind this blade is brilliant James. Also, I know you jumped off that excavator!
The new creative room is brilliant too, full win.
bro he even recreated the hook blade lmaoo 9:41
I remember asking you guys to make a hidden blade years ago, but you guys responded saying many people have already done so. I'm happy that years later it finally happened, young me would be so happy
Do Cyberpunk Cyberware next. Also, Nexus is an amazing game. I've played through it 2 or 3 times, and it didn't get old. The graphics are not even close to modern graphics, but that's because of the hardware. They don't take away from the experience, though. It also has free movement, so if you already have your vr legs, you can run and do the parkour and everything without teleporting.
thats a whole other ball game lol
The only thing I could see them making from cyberpunk is a projectile launcher from one of the prototype arms of that one company
@@moriontax Or mantis blades. Other people have done it.
"All right guys, today we have a surgeon here to implant our very own sandevistan into my spine"
@@d.a.studiosgaming7783 yeah I saw that one vid of the guy that made his own blades for a cosplay...lowkey (no experience what so ever) it could be easier than the projectile launcher but it'd have to be on a bigger scale than plastic or sheet metals
OMG! Out of all the engineering niches, this has been mine for years! Can’t believe I get to see you guys make a video on it. I’d gotten plenty of blades from Rawice, as well as a great hidden blade maker called Imdeepainreborn (super underrated). I can relate especially relate to that assembly where it just *almost* worked, then you had to completely disassemble it. This really makes my nerd side so happy right now!
Great work James, and Rawice of course! ❤❤❤
Oh my god I remember when I just got my first 3d printer when I was in middle school and one of the first things I tried and fail to print was Rawice’s hidden blade!!! I haven’t been keeping up with his update so seeing a new design really got my fire going! I was able to print a hidden blade last year but it was not from Rawice. Now I gotta try Rawice’s mechanism.
The other design that was successful for me was from sonndersmith if anyone is interested. It is super simple and easy to print.
U should try making the grappling hook
Ooh, the Rope Launcher would be sick as hell
Pretty sure it's impossible to get a motor strong enough to lift your bodyweight in a tiny and light device
Colinfurze already did this like 7 Years ago
They've made a grappling hook.
@@j.m.l.m. the grapple gauntlet from Syndicate
The Patrick Bateman quote 🤌 10:52
First person to get it!

Let’s gooooooo
"The game is super immersive"
*Proceds to teleport*
I own one of the Rwice V2s and one time I took it apart and just stood there enamouring the simplicity of the design, no janky electronics, no heavy oxygen tanks and fiddly valves, just simple mechanics. I think if the design was slightly widened and you put a bigger main gear in, you could probably get the faster ejection that you mentioned.
Reminded me of days of playing assassins creed and its enough to make a grown man cry and thats okay
this guy really enjoyed making this video. i love watching passionate youtubers.
I wonder if the hacksmiths could make the spring lock system from fnaf or even the whole circus baby animatronic?
Lol the subtle npc wobble while making coffee was surprisingly the video highlight for me
I loved that the hand model only had 4 fingers. Great reference to the games
if you used a knife like this youd have even less fingers id say
Nothing is true, everything is permitted. Well done!
That intro made me feel so synchronized, I saw at least 3 side quests pop up
Oh the irony of using the ring finger to activate the blade, I love it
An inspiring masterpiece within a simple mechanism
I really loved it
It also gave me a thought that why can't we use the same to make a retractable Wolverine claws??
Of course it might make the mechanism a bit complex but still this string technique is worth a shot.....
Anyways, keep doing what you do team Hacksmith
I always admire and I'm inspired a lot by your work❤❤
It quickly turned from an advertisement to a warning against addiction
Anytime you're messing with an OTF to put the little Springs back together no matter what kind of system it is, always put a bag over the top. Literally it's like working inside of a grocery bag that way you catch the springs. I spent hours with a flashlight in the dark with a magnet looking for anything that would catch my eye with shine. I also ended up using like a very large Ziploc bag with my hands inside of it one time that worked out very good too because you can see through the top.
I made a couple of hidden blade designs years ago, made one that was gravity operated and the second attempt was spring loaded, had to manually retract both but I made them using 2 tier drawer slides and tools and epoxy from poundland 😂 worked pretty well the second time round, used a ring pull from a drinks can as the locking mechanism too
I made mine out of lollipop sticks and loom bands lol
James's ability to pull of any male cosplay he wants is really cool
TF2 engineer gear when?
It’s fascinating to see you bring the Assassin's Creed Nexus into reality. The attention to detail in the hidden blade mechanism is commendable. Makes watching the video so immersive, like we're in the game itself.
09:12 Meanwhile someone in the hidden ceiling base : "I wonder if pigeons have become so heavy to almost make the ceiling collapse..."
This channel is the where i've seen the best Mechanical and engineering marvels of builds.
Mad Respect!
Amazing! Thankfully you didn't have to cut off your ring finger to use it!
just an idea not sure if it will be seen tho its about making a burst flame shooter or spark that can be launched from the arms and hands like how fire benders confure flames forward . the idea to make it happen is by having an igniter around the wrist that launches the sparks forward with a kind of substance as a projectile which ignites into a ball of flames and thus making the it look like you can shoot fire out your hands. for further information just ask about it . ill try to answer it .
God damn I remember watching this channels videos because of you were making the marvel characters equipments and was really shocked about how you did those. I didn't even know a lot in english it is not my mother tongue but even tho my english level wasn't that good to understand you I wanted to understand what you were really talking about so I can say that you are one of the most important guys in my life because i believe that this language will help me in the future. The video that shocked me the most was a video that you made an iron man suit that can literally fly. Age 13 love your videos since 8 or 7 I don't remember but keep going with do good work and quality man ❤
awhhh
An accessory every CZcams Engineer and Inventor has it
Incredibly dangerous as always! Good work, Hacksmith team!
Tony stark or Robert Downey jr would be pround of u guys at hacksmith i love all the video u guys make and all the projects that u guys build love to see a full matel ironman suit with thin titanium plates kind of like something like a medieval armor from like 1700s to like 1600s when Knights guarded the King's Castle
5:37 *rules of nature starts playing*
Hey.
Vaya que todas esas armas acabaron quedando muy bien, excelente trabajo. 😎
I’ve been waiting so long for them to make hidden blades and it finally happened
Why does the Hacksmith building have a Weyland Yutani logo on their door? Perhaps, they will evolve into some futuristic giant company.
Well, they do plan to become Stark Industries in real life, so they've got that going for them.
Have you not seen our powerloader videos...??

HOLY CRAP THAT FIRST SHOT LOOKED AMAZING

Can we just appreciate Hacksmith Industries as a company. Like just imagine your boss climbing on roofs and parkouring all over the office.
Bringing the fantasy to life! These real Assassin's Creed Hidden Blades are pure craftsmanship at its finest. 👌
Now i would love to see someone do this but using medieval or renaissance methods to see if it would have really been possible to make something on the scale and complexity of this design with the tools and methods of that period
Depends how you define "the tools and methods of that period" ;)
I would love that, I dont have any of these tools, so it would be awesome to have a way to make it with more common tools
This Vidio is a pure chiledhood dream
It is wild that y'all went the extra length to remove the ring finger from the mannequin hand!! 😂
Seeing my favorite assassin's in vr is awesome. Ezio, Connor. OOOOOOOO WE GOT SOME GOOD VR COMIN
You are a fantastic CZcamsr hacksmith and I mean that personally 👍👍👍👍👍👍
Day 1 of asking hacksmith to make a real working Harry potter wand
Can't believe they actually built hidden blade-style gauntlets just to simulate the feel for the VR controllers, absolute madmen
Nicely done. 😏
Do you ever considered making some new exoskeleton out of Nitniol, it's sounds crazy but maybe you can retract the arms of the exoskeleton by heating the nitniol to it's origin form so that you can retract the arms in a range of a real biceps.
Have u considered getting a life?
10:55 we got Canadian Psycho before GTA 6
Yay! Spoon in the other one.
Assassins Feed! :)
Good to see James WORKING on something recently.
This feels exactly like old hacksmith. Awesome.
Who’s Candice
You tell me

nah don't ask trust me
Wonderfull! Thank you
A Rawice and Hacksmith Collab is something my younger self would have dreamed of. So good!!
seeing this design made me realize that a hidden blade is basically just an otf knife with a string instead of the button. i wonder if it could be made more solid and powerful by using otf mechanics
As soon as i heard the Patrick Bateman line i couldn't stop laughing
That callout the original games where sometimes you'd stand near a ledge hoping to do a leap of faith and instead fall to your death. AMAZING.
Knowing rawice is part of this is even better his hidden blades don’t disappoint his recent movie versions are a beautiful dream come true :)
Thankyou so much! 🥹
takes me back to the old youtube days, the project turned out super nice. Love it!
The opening scene gave me an idea of a reverse grappling hook. You attach it to a railing or whatever your close to and then jump but it slows your fall just enough that you don't hurt yourself and then you can hit a button on the device attached to you and it unhooks and re winds.
One of my very first projects! Called the batman rappelling hook, look em up!
Hey, I think you should make dark Vader uniform that has breathing functions. You can breathe inside the mask and even sounds like his voice and it also like a voice changer kind of thing where when you when you put his helmet on, I’ll make a change, your voice and then if you try to take it off at like like gas comes out to make it like that affect that you were injured and you had your helmet on for a long time when you snap. Air pressure leaks out and also Put the buttons on it and the buttons I should do something like the eyes may glow or and also Vader he also goes to the bathroom and suit if you could try to replicate that that be pretty cool
If normal people were riding passenger in one of these cars they would be sequential shitting their pants 😂💀
James showing off his skills prove that assassins could've or could 100% be real
amazing build, nice touch adding the zipline mechanism
I really like your guy's' channel I am wanting to make some stuff like you guys do I am currently in the very beginning stages of making an iron man suit sadly I don't have lots of money to spend on it but I do have a 3D printer and some filament so I'm making a plastic one I will most likely spend hundreds on the electronics to make it do stuff cool like the helmet open on its own and other cool stuff I know one thing is for sure no matter how frustrating it gets I won't give up
I would love to see you guys create jet stream Sam’s muranasa blade because I feel they are the only ones who can pull it off
Hacksmith and jlaser together = future force industries.
The birth of the Hacksmith Brotherhood of Assassins
After the Iron Man suits, his next goal is going to be the T-600.
Give this a like if you've played any Assassin's Creed Nexus in VR.
Assassin's Creed Nexus is so fun, I've been playing it for a little while
I love seeing the mishaps and mess-ups that come with the creation process. Because, yeah, these things happen, you run into problems, but that's what engineers do, they solve problems.
That test segment was hilarious I had to watch it multiple times lmao. Those hidden blades are so cool definitely should sell those in your shop... Time to mass produce I'd pick em up for sure.
I'd love to see you guys recreate ghosts from the Destiny/destiny 2 video games.
Next project...
"There are two parts to it. The hook, and the blade"
Bonus points if you zipline down a rope like in Revelations
Maybe try watching the whole video then... I zipline in this video lol
@@theHacksmith I did, I meant as in building the hook blade from AC: Revelations. I didn't mean to cause any offence
Lol! Nice touch with cutting up the chicken with your blade.
Those final 5 seconds are on point. You're not alone.
"Ezio Auditor the Friends"
nah but in all seriousness ive been a member since the iron man suit and seeing you make the hidden blade from my childhood games is a dream come true, lots of love brother
7:01 James had truly made the 'Hacksmith's Creed'
I just had an idea for a lightsaber. It could even be retractable. Similarly to how Disney made their retractable lightsaber, but using a different metal or metallic alloy from your original prototype saber, have it to be able to contain the heat, flame or plasma off of the metal rod. I’m sure there has to be something that could work. Maybe even having the metal rod hollowed out or a few to fit within the extended rods at an appropriate length to not only allow for the plasma to flow through but to safely escape from the containment so it doesn’t overflow or overheat
And idk if their is a safe way necessarily to produce the amperage to get the metal rods to extend on a more portable structure or something like the original design
OMG!!!! I'm soo glad you guys finally made it! I've been requesting the hidden blades for so long. They look so good and I absolutely Love them. Thank you!!!!
I wonder if the guys knew that there's a guy who lives in Toronto who voiced one of the Assassins once. Would have been great for the video!
You don't know the satisfaction I had when it didn't work the first time, because I've been trying for a long time to get one to work from 3D printing, and knowing even the Hacksmith didn't get it to fully work the first time was reassuring.
