  • On 20 April 1945, Hitler ordered Operation Seraglio to begin - the evacuation of key government personnel and files from embattled Berlin to Bavaria. Many important Nazis escaped Berlin by plane, but one aircraft carrying a huge cache of the most secret and important of Hitler's personal files crashed. Those metal boxes of files have been searched for ever since. This is the story of what happened.

My father was a captain in the U.S. Army Medical Corps in 1945, stationed at Walter Reed Hospital, just outside of Washington, D.C. At the time, he was given two copies of X-rays of Hitler's skull by a colleague, who, I believe, was in a photography unit. My father passed them on to me. One of them is a copy of what Dr. Felton shows here in his fine documentary. I showed them to an eminent historian of Nazi Germany, and he told me they were probably copies made for the U.S. Army for a report on Hitler that they compiled (What I don't understand is that they are on that thick, plasticized, transparent X-ray material, not photographic paper.) I offered them to an auction house specializing in WWII memorabilia, but they weren't interested. How surprising, then, to see an image of one of them here.

The Amber Room appears to be in good condition still. It would be a terrible waste if it simply succumbed to the elements.

      the six volumes of Churchill's Second World War total 4,448 pages;

In this mass of writing [7,061 pages]
published from 1948 to 1959, there is no mention either of Nazi "gas chambers",
a "genocide" of the Jews, or of "six million" Jewish victims of the war.
Prof. Richard Lynn writes re the above observation:
"I've checked out Churchill's Second World War & the statement is quite correct - not a single mention of Nazi "gas chambers,"
a "genocide" of the Jews, or of "six million" Jewish victims of the war.

As a warren officer, he certainly would have ended up dead or in Siberia, but it took 2 years for his stomp to heal up. One thing I did learn, he was involved in the last incident that cost US Navy sailor lives officially during the US involvement in the war. It was a collision between his ship, the Nashbulk, and another ship... the Saint Mihel. He struggled with that experience his whole life. He had made something liker 19 trans-atlantic trips during his time in the Navy and Merchant Marines, only to be nearly taken out because of some heavy fog.

@@robinderoos1166 Funnily enough, that is always bothered me about Soulstorm. All the dialogue was clearly written by one guy, who has some sort of mental tick where he believes repetition equals drama. Since all the lines were recorded with different actors, no one else picked up on it during production, but playing through the campaign you notice that probably 75% of all dialogue is structured as almost obsessive compulsive repetition. For example (repeated phrases capitalised):
      The Battle Sisters:
“FIRE! FIRE my sisters! DO NOT falter! DO NOT blink, until the enemy are CINDERS. CINDERS and ash!”
“The SHRINES, IN RUINS!” “My SHRINES, IN RUINS!”
“Sisters, WE MUST GO as martyrs. WE MUST GO IN FLAMES. IN FLAMES!”
      The Space Marines:
“Deep strike, DEPLOY! DEPLOY! Send EVERYTHING YOU HAVE GOT! Do you hear me? EVERYTHING YOU HAVE GOT!”
      “This is WAR! WAR!”
      Orks:
“The killee spot is OURS! OURS!”
“We’re THE ORKS. THE rockclaw ORKS!”
      Imperial Guard:
“ALL I’ve fought for, ALL my work! CRUSHED! CRUSHED! ALL the good men who gave their lives for THIS cursed, THIS blasted system!”
“MINES! By the emperor, watch out for the MINES!”
      Necrons:
“AWAKE! I give you energy. Drink of it and AWAKE!”
“THEY SHALL meet their ends. THEY SHALL join the army of the dead.”
      Eldar:
“THIS DAY, THIS DAY we have lost.”
      Tau:
“Aun'Ro'Yr! Noble Ethereal! WE HAVE LOST you! WE HAVE LOST all!”
      Chaos (especially ridiculous):
“SMITE THEM Khorne! SMITE THEM my god! … WE - WE WILL be your fist, and WE shall take them by the throat. YES! YES! WE WILL!”
“AFTER ALL OUR work! AFTER ALL OUR sacrifices!”
“WITHOUT OUR devotion? WITHOUT OUR sacrifice?”

20:00 Konrad Kujau caused a sensation in Germany. He claimed to have had from the "Lost Secret Documents" the diaries that Hitler that he himself wrote in his own hand writing.
He managed to get the heads of Stern Magazine to believe the books were the real thing. Stern Magazine went to one of the best to authenticate the diaries against
an actual written by Adolf Hitler. The man who authenticated the diaries and the document, said that "The document and the diaries were written by the same person."
The document from Hitler that authenticated the diaries was a forgery from Kujau. Well the whole thing blew up when it was found that the diaries were all forgeries.
Kujau was arrested. On the very first day of the Trial, Kujau's lawyer asked if his client could make a statement to the court. The court agreed that he could.
Kujau said, "Your honor, put yourself in my place. If someone offered you 3 million dollars (10 million in today's money) for Hitler diaries and you had the ability to produce them,
what would you do?" The presiding Judge said, "You're right." The presiding Judge turned to the publishers of Stern magazine, who were there in the court room on that day
and yelled at them, "How the hell could you have possibly believed something like this!"
