After living in England I've realized that where you live doesn't mean you'll have that accent or "look" like the stereotype of a person from that region, it's more on what media you consume and what the people around you talk like. It's sooo much more varied than North America as a whole (Canadian here!). And because the size of the country (England, but also GB as a whole) is sooooo tiny you really notice the differences a lot more!

Honestly, my absolute favorite thing about Tom is that he wore a full-on tophat to school. Which, apparently, was a reasonably successful anti-bullying device, because it made people think he wasn't even real but a victorian ghost haunting the school.

Is it just me or does anyone else want Tom Allen AND Rob Beckett to be the presenters of channel 4 bake off. I love Sandy but Noel is just SO annoying and Matt is just a bit meh. But Tom just made me laugh so much and Rob and him work well off each other.
Didn't Sandy quit a series ago and Matt does it now?

@@Heva1987 from what I remember reading at the time, she wanted to pursue other projects as its quite a demanding schedule and with her commitments to QI. So I believe she's left Bake Off for good with Matt taking over with Noel. I thought Sandy and Noel were a weird combination, but seeing their highlights on YT, I think they OK. Though I'm not so keen on Matt, but maybe he'll grow on me.
However, your suggestion for Rob and Tom taking over would be hilarious, but I think they'd be too big a personalities for the show maybe? With being such good friends off camera? I don't know. Definitely an idea for TV bigwigs to consider. I'd watch something they were on 😉
@@gemmawilson1030 well Mel and Sue were big as well and they had chemistry and Tom has also stepped in for Noel when he was with Baby and he did so well. I just want the comedy in between bits to not be as jarring or as forced like with other.
@@Heva1987 I appreciate that about Mel and Sue. But can't say I'd seen them on TV together for a decade before doing Bake Off. And when they were on TV they are seen as a double act, whereas Tom and Rob are their own comedic acts. It's just different isn't?
