This is really cool idea. One thing I would do differently though, I would add a chain cover. If you throw a chain from a worn out link it might take some skin with it if the chain fliys off of the sprocket just right.
I have done those scooters back in the past 3 decades ago. You would have to change the sprocket ratio I believe right now your scooter won't move stand still you will have to push first to get it started especially with the clutch still on it. Also the clutch will burn out. The best way is to remove the clutch weld the lug nut on the motor shaft place the motor as closest possible to the tire with the lug nut firmly pressed against the tire weld motor in place and you're done.(you may have to fill up the tire with more air pressure) to start the motor you have to do is stand on the scooter with one foot with the other push yourself into the motor start and you'll keep driving you will hit about 20 to 25mph guaranteed
I really love how you showed us that motor all hooked up to nothing just vibrating and purring on the table. It's a raw obtainable cheap efficient power source. So many ideas. Could I power 4 wheels with 4 motors? Can you combine multiple motor powers like 3 motors to 1 wheel? Magical stuff man.
A nice illustration of some mechanical principles - thank you. One of the more subtle issues is that more gearing is required because the centrifugal clutches are more of an on-off device, only fully engaging at over half the full rev range. This means that without the correct set of ratios they are always slipping or only work with downhill / gravity assistance, and a push start is absolutely needed. Am gonna have a go at a 3 or 5 speed rear internal geared hub 4 stroke engine version.
I have a near-identical engine in a powered earth auger (drills holes in the ground) and I agree with you: When it hits a rock, I reckon the kick from it could easily break your wrist of you weren't holding it the right way. I think that we all tend to forget just got powerful even small engines can be...
Hey man great job on using what you got and making a solid simple project I don't give a crap what people say on this you make do with what you got and you did and it looks good and functions.
Wow...look at the expertise of armchair fabricators out there. I don’t know how they carry around the burden of so much wisdom 😂. Nice build - way to be resourceful with what you got 👍🏼
His home had refuse recycling. Hardly a young man of poverty and no means. But yeah, he uses his head. The scooter works and he inspired some kids that now want a stick welder, cutoff saw and drill press. You need the tools to build your dreams.
incredible project if I were I would replace the platinum with a used one and send it to a mechanical turner to machine a flange to fit the pinion for the chain pinion and crown ratio kit I would never cut but It was sensational amazing job
Hey love the vid!! Do you think with a different gear ratio, you could go faster? I was thinking you could even use a bike cassette with several gears and you could have a manual shifter
Yeah, i was thinking the same. I even think i want to try installing battery/starter/sound system/alternator/proper seat/roof/mini fan/etc etc hahahaha..
Thank you I’m building somthing different a mini car and you helped me find out how to make the wheel move because I didn’t know I had to make the bolt thing for the chain had to be connected to wheel and spin with the wheel
Definitely cool and awesome if you to share the video to inspire and teach others how to do something like this. But be careful it would hurt to fall at that top speed of 3.5 miles per hour
Since this video covered needed aspects of the project, I'm not criticizing in any way ''at all'', but simply suggesting. I might've added a brace or braces to that vertical motor mount plate to help prevent your welds from cracking due to motor or bumpy road vibrations, however, since the frame was obviously heavy enough gauge steel that you could use a ''stick welder'', it may not matter. Instead of that plate, I may've welded another plate onto the frame to bolt the motor mount plate onto & added some slots to 1 of the plates so you could adjust the motor's position for whatever reason. Since you added that chain tension idler, the slots may not be needed to adjust your motor whichever way it ''might'' be needed . A very simple, yet excellent build. I've been wanting to build a 4-wheeled version of ''something'' powered with a weed-eater or chainsaw engine. I've torn apart chainsaws & know their drive setup, but since I haven't got around to tearing into 1 of these things yet, I wasn't sure what all was in 1 so this video was ''VERY BENEFICIAL'' in showing how simple the things are. GREAT JOB & GREAT VIDEO, SIR.

Welding over paint, a true DIY'er
very good !! I also made one with a 150cc engine
62cc string trimmer? Wow, that’s “Shaking hands with danger”..... I love it

What Kindve speed you get?
My kll see
There are scooters with smaller engines 💀💀
I like this scooter great job. I'd only recommend a chain guard. Hope you are still enjoying it after about a year!

Thank you for the idea, will be doing something similar soon 👍🏼
Pretty neat nice video 👍
I love the brake stand burn out!
really cool. how did you build the back wheel? i wonder how to put a gear on mine.
Nice ... Joint silencer ..

Need to put a roller on to keep the chain tension but solid first little diy build
Great job 👍👍👍
The burnout was the next finishing touch, awesome
Kopp kopp kopp kip i9 on o ok pop ok ok
No, it was just ridiculous.
Hello, have a question is it needed to put the engine a bit up or we can put it on the frame close to the wheel?
Good work but as they have mentioned you have to put smaller sproket8 to avoid clutch slipping and wear
hello. interesting video well done, but please tell me why the star that is attached to the gearbox? Thanks.
Great job
mother of invention, love when a great idea comes together god bless

Very cool
Nice project 👍
great video
Bracket holding engine should have been designed to cover all the 4 screws
or on both sides
what do i watch at 1 am:
Nice build ! 👍

Very smart and clear video!!! Does that kind of engine have a centrifugal clutch? (It seemed to me) thank you!!!
its a commercial strimmer engine they all have that clutch bud
"...CROCKS! HE'S WEARING CROCKS! YOU'RE DRIVING THIS SMOKE HOUSE AROUND ON A SCOOTER... WITH CROCKS???"
From SNL sinkhole skit.
Awesome!! If I could add one thing as a scooter designer? I'd mount the all 4 bolts to the engine. It'll last a lot longer .
What type of rear tire did he use and what type of brakes did he use
Wow amazing love it
Any ideas on how to trick out my powerchair i have a 1450d jazzy ??
I meed some ideas since im always in it.

Have you had a decent wipeout?
Will you please include links to Amazon for the back wheel
Whelp, know Ik what to do with my old weed Wacker. Turn it to an epic go-kart/motor bike
I won't go very fast so I suggest selling it to make money for a pred engine
it's a nice project, can you share the scooter dimensions, good work
Would it go faster with a smaller sprocket on the wheel or would it be more strain on the motor and end up going slower?
A smaller sprocket on the wheel would result in less torque but could spin faster
You need to put a smaller sprocket on engine to allow it to rev higher. That should be going a lot faster for a 62cc engine

👍🤝
Would of liked to see the wheel set up
Nice
Hey what's the top speed on this awesome build
Better be careful at wide open throttle !! you might break speeds of 5 mph and that could extremely dangerous 😁
what direction does your engine rotate when viewed from the clutch side when running? clockwise or anti clockswise.
Counter-clockwise
Where did you get the rear sprocket on the wheel ?
very good
