She always kills it in every roll.
Regarding Sage’s labotomy - I think she just gets tired of being smart sometimes and her way of relaxing is to make herself temporarily stupid by damaging her brain. It grows back quickly because she’s a supe, but she gets a few hours of it kind of like being high.
This is the tricky part of the Show for me, that they don’t often make it clear which Supes are Invulnerable/Regenerative/etc. until the moment it matters on-screen. I was SHOCKED and so confused when I saw she lobotomised herself, but now that I’m looking up reactions online for the first time ever, it makes sense In-Character for her to do that since she obviously knows she can heal. I think if I had paused while her “Resume” was on-screen earlier in the Season I would’ve been able to read that, but it feels like a weird thing for the Show to expect an audience to have to think to do.

@@kevinmac7023yes that was stated but like OP said they didn’t think the audience would need to pause and read each of those to know that info later in the episode. I don’t usually pick up Easter eggs like that on my first watch because I’m excited to see what’s going to happen in general. That’s why I actually enjoy my second watches more but I’m weird like that.

These are the same people saying “make an original black character” until they do and then the same people are still mad. Almost like “race swapping” was never the issue to begin with, they just don’t like seeing black people on screen and I’m glad racists continue to be laughed at by capeshit.

I have never seen any complains about her being black. Some people think she’s not writing that intelligently for being the most intelligent person in the world, something even Kripke himself mentioned was hard to do when you, yourself, are not the most intelligent person.
I don't understand why people have the take that Sister Sage and TecKnight are not supes. They both obviously are. Being hyper-aware and hyper-intelligent are superpowers just as much super strength and super speed.
I think Sage has powers because she used that surgical instrument on herself to make herself dumber

Yep, she lobotomized herself because she has a low level healing factor and the lobotomy allows her to rest her mind. Plus Homelander can actually see the V in every supes system.

I'm thinking Sage is a mastermind who is WAY more steps ahead of this. I agree that she probably knew he was coming or at least can see the endgame far beyond this point including her response to being in the suit and all that. And I'm curious if her seeming hookup with the deep is part of a plan too

My favorite scene was Starlight and Firecracker with the reveal of Starlight’s past in the pageant circuit.
I’m so glued to Sage. A Character like hers can be sooo good if the Writers know how to use the ‘domino effect’ aspect of having all of her seemingly inconsequential actions snap into place, revealing a plan that was there the whole time. I do think her little moment with Ashley in the elevator might foreshadow her downfall - “You can’t talk to Homelander that way” “I’m telling the truth”. It’s difficult to say whether that’s part of her act or if she really doesn’t realise just how unhinged Homelander is. She can be the smartest person on Earth, but if she’s expecting everyone around her to act rationally, that’s going to be a tragic error in her calculus. Either way she’s way more fun than the previous Seasonal ‘baddies’ we’ve gotten.

I assumed Sage deactivated the part of her brain that regulates her inhibitions, making her more dangerous and more dedicated to the cause, without being hampered by questions of morality and such

My favourite moment was when Firecracker confronted and stood up to Starlight, powerful and Black Noir, surprisingly and abruptly spoke out after beating up/killing some people.
I find it funny that the new black noir, is an actor as the og wanted to be an actor and star in a movie which Soldier Boy prohibited him from doing. It’s sad but funny and ironic.

Can we please not do the “sage is not an actual supe” theory. For crying out loud, she lobotomized herself minutes before we saw her dealing with the deep. What normal human being can do that?
i don’t understand how aging is a problem for Homelander if he’s supposed to be like the perfected specimen for all the Compound V experiments, yet Stormfront lived basically unchanged from the 1930s or 1940s. like if she was getting V but it wasn’t perfected yet the way it is on Homelander, why wouldn’t she age while he does?

Sage probably wants to be the power BEHIND the throne. She knows the person on the throne is a target.
My theory for Sage, is pretty close to Eric and Brandons. I do think she's lobotomizing herself, due to staving off a growth of her brain overall. She could have a brain that would continuously get larger, like The Leader from Marvel, but by lobotomizing herself she's slowing that growth process.
This I think is happening in tandem, to her setting up The Deep. Go back a few scenes, when she learns The Deep was in charge of things in security she made an expression of disdain. I think she's sinking to his level (pun maybe intended) so that she can set him up to fall.
Ok are we sure that what butcher has is a tumor? Lets not forget the shots of a slug like creature moving about in his head👀👀 maybe its like an egg sack of some sort that was given in the temp v and maybe if they can get out they can find a way to cure him🤷♀️👀

I'm wondering if Black Noir is a clone and thats why they can just replace him. The nut allergy/narcolepsy could be results of the cloning process not being perfect.

Some supe powers come with a downside. And Gen V dealt with supes who get sick, like Tek Knight's brain tumor making him wanting to fuck everything with a hole. So I wonder if Sage's powers have a downside too, like maybe her super intelligence comes from a brain tumor or her brain is constantly growing so she needs to operate on herself so she doesn't die.

@@Deliverance253Jeffrey Dean Morgan, the dude Butcher reconnects with at the CIA; Butcher pours whiskey into his coffee, Kessler is the one who gets him the drugs (H something) to incapacitate Ryan that Butcher bakes into the cookies that he later throws away.
If you’re good with faces, the actor played the Comedian in Watchmen and Negan in the Walking Dead.
Hadn’t put that together yet, but yeah, it seems like Butcher is the only one interacting with him;
I know the Temp V is fucking with his brain, but when Hughie says at the end of S4E1, “Mom?!” I totally forgot she was still alive and thought that it was just the side effects of the drug, but now I’m wondering if it’s having latent effects on Butcher and it actually did give him powers, and his power is speaking with the dead:

Three episodes of The Acolyte and I have no clue what's going on. Three episodes of The Boys and not only do I understand what's happening, I'm actually interested in tuning in next week for the next episode. This is how you write a damned tv show.

Yeah it just sounds like you don’t know how stories work, because the story in the acolyte is pretty clear cut and being thrown down your throat; I’m pretty sure Maude even said as much in The Aftershow.
Whereas the plot in The Boys has been going on since S1E1 and the most recent plots have been in development since the second season.
Do you just consume media and not really think about it?? Have you ever read a book because you wanted to and not because someone told you to for a class? Do you even think, or do you just do what you’re told and figure “Hey, I’m sure it’ll all work out”?
Like what the actual fuck, sure we’re dealing with space and superpowers, but this shit isn’t fucking rocket science, it’s textbook.
I think new Black Noir is Sam from Gen V. He's strong enough but naive enough to keep asking questions and mentally pliable enough to be blindly obedient.

Not really. That guy was created/was a plant by Homelander. He was going around creating problems, giving V to different groups and creating "super villains" for the 7 to deal with. Whereas sister sage has her own motives, has Homelander looking to her for answers, while she still wants to remain behind the scenes and do what she has to do.

@@harleyjo4875 not everyone on the internet is coming from a place of racism. There are a LOT of character reasons that could make sense. Just one example: why does she so badly want out of the spotlight? Is she hiding from someone? Also, Newman is very central in this story, in which they dig into her powers and background. That ties to Marie and her sister mystery.

But if things are staged, and Homelander wants to appeal to his base (in the case of Firecracker) and have someone to tell him like it is and help with his diabolical plans (i.e., Sage), would make sense-on the surface-to choose those two
