Queen - She Makes Me [Stormtrooper In Stilettos] (Official Lyric Video)
/ queenofficial - Hudba
brian is so underrated as a singer and especially as a songwriter. tbh i think queen is still underrated overall but at least freddie is really appreciated. people should pay more attention to brian, roger and john.
@Sebastian Ohlsson - it's a funny line, but it goes like this;
' You say,
"You call me up and feed me all the lines"
"You call me sweet like I'm some kind of cheese
Waiting on the shelf" '
So, it's actually the "she" (the sweet lady) who is saying "you call me sweet, like I'm some kind of cheese" to the narrator / singer / songwriter :)
No I don’t think Brian is underrated, cause everyone b saying he’s underrated lmao.
Underrated word is underrated. It's fucking every song
@@tonystark1180 And yet everytime I hear it, it come the movie scene in mine.
Brian is a god. He could crush you with proto-metal songs like Father To Son, Tie Your Mother Down and It's Late, then bring you to tears with songs like this, White Queen and All Dead
Brian May, a wonderful guitarist, sublime songwriter, dreamy voice and ethereal good looks. He's like a dream come true.
Look at the big brain on Brian....hes a doctor too!
PhD in Astrophysics and he was invited to Stephen Hawking's funeral.
You couldn't be more correct.
He also campaigns for animal welfare. How good is this man?
@@user-pq6rm1be4q he is such a lover boy
i just realized the drum beat sounds like someone walking in stilettos
ProgHeadLou Yea, probably Freddie 😂
BGFSSS 😂😂
I'm so glad you pointed that out. That's awesome.
Good one!
I'm interested to know if they used a Gated Reverb effect on the drums, making it the first use of the effect which, 6 years before Phil Collins used it on Peter Gabriel's Intruder. The Gated Reverb became the signature drum sound of the 1980s and Queen may have done it 6 years before which is pretty interesting to me.
This song features Brian May on vocals. They were such a great band with four very talented individuals.
his song---
They are! Because they are still active.
@@greenhotchiliqueen5395 well no... It's Queen+,Brian and Roger said that is more like a tribute band, but Queen end when Freddie died and John retired
I suffer from anxiety and when I am in a crisis , unable to breathe, this song makes wonders for me. It sooths my soul and helps me to deal with the panic. Best medication I could ever find
I also have anxiety. This song is very soothing indeed.
Same!
This whole album is just magic to me. One of the best ever.
EV•ER
So so good
This is my favorite Queen song! I used to lay on the daybed downstairs with my Koss headphones on and play it over and over! I had to get up and move the arm of the record player every time back in those days! Lol!
I’ve been there too
I love the breathing at the end...
It simulates his breathing and sounds while in the hospital.
Very erotic... 😳
Connects with it's si easy but i can't do it
This has always been a very haunting song. The meaning has never been clear, i've read everything from it being an ode to one's mother to an ode to a dominatrix in a star wars uniform (the album predates Star Wars by 2 or 3 years). What i always envisioned was a mortally wounded soldier lying in a battlefield(stormtroopers-WW2, stiletto knife, not the heels) expressing his undying love for his girl back home as he lay dying. Help is on the way, as he hears an ambulance in the distance, but it's too late. The echo you hear at the end of the song was his last breath. Maybe my analysis is way off, but that's what i've always thought. Regardless it's just as chilling hearing it now as it was way back then.
It may also be that "she makes him feel as vulnerable / awkward as an assault soldier with stiletto heels, but your interpretation makes a lot of sense for the final part of the song and the feeling of volatile anguish it leaves.
Tommy Turner Great analysis
Seems reasonable
The sound effects towards the end, sirens etc, are also a reference to what Brian remembered from when he was lying in a hospital bed in the US with hepatitis.
this song is wide open to interpretations and by this makes the song a sheer work of art.
@@tonystark1180 he nearly lost his arm to grangrene and it was nearly amputated
The first time I heard that "last breath" at the end of this song I nearly lost my breath.
Or as Freddie might say, 'You take my breath away'.
I've seen many interpretations of this song, some think it's about being in love, or about a mother figure, or a dying soldier. My interpretation of this song is that "She" represents death. Brian wrote this after a severe battle with Hepatitis C. The sirens and heavy breathing at the end were based on Brian's experiences being hospitalized in the U.S. He was almost on the verge of death, and to me, this song is about his thoughts while in the hospital. The lyrics seem to be pondering what death could mean for him, especially the line "Who knows who she'll make me as I lie in her cocoon?" It also deals with accepting death, the line "She is my love" is about the release of death, as well as the line "The world will surely heal my ills."
It's about his girlfriend/ wife and the realisation that death could steal away his life from his love ❤
75yrs and listening. Have listened to Queen last 45yrs. Psychedelic sound. Takes to another place. Awesome
you can hear that his favourite band were The Beatles
I think his favorite band was Queen
@@GrouchyJelly i Mean, my favorite person in the world isn't me so there's a big chance that his favorite band wasn't Queen
he did say the beatles were his favourite
@giovanni pilu both are awesome in their own way and you can't compare them
@giovanni pilu the Beatles don't suck! Queen isn't the only good band in the world you know...
The harmonies from 1:02 to 1:17 are stunningly beautiful.
Kinda wish they had done it more throughout but it was a cool 1 time thing. Its my favorite part of the song.
Yeah I love that
Much as “Drowse”, when Queen throw in a dash of psychedelia it really makes for something special.
wow.. yeah totally agree... those tracks are magic.
This song makes me cry every time I listen to it. It's so underrated.
I know it's shit isn't it
Amen
Amen
Beautiful, masterpiece,so fine, yet underrated,Dr Brian May's talent is a rare one. Rock will never die!
I really love brian may voice :")
ssssaaaammmmmmeeeee
More people should know about this song. Queen have so many underappreciated gems.
I can hear her walking in those boots. And those angel harmonies, and the sense of sweat and smoke. That one twang of guitar, almost like bagpipes. So gorgeous.
And then with those White Armour and Laser blasters rite ? Yeah soo awesome... Those Storm Troopers !
I wish Brian would put out a record of all the songs he wrote and sang for Queen.
Good idea!
They should do that for all four
That will not be one record.. that would be many records my friend
The first time I heard this back in the 70's on the Sheer Heart Attack album; which is a GREAT song also, I was hooked! The Beat, Bri's vocal ease, the whole Acoustic aspect....AWESOME SAUCE! Some of their BEST songs are the ones they didn't play on the radio. That's how you know you're a TRUE Queen fan. When you know their stuff but NOT from the radio.
How can Sheer Heart Attack be so perfect? My favourite albums are still Queen II and Innuendo, but sheer heart attack has a very special place in my heart...especially this song, in the lap of the gods and the medley
Dr. Brian May. He has a PHD in Astrophysics.
special
Yes we know
Finally someone who knew that before the movie came out 😌
Dr. Brian May. He has a PHD in science-fiction.
FTFY
Thank you @@stephaniepegler1292 Queen has been my favorite band since 1974. I've seen them 3 times. Amazing shows.
Magical? Mystical? Fantasy? Or bollocks? Early Queen were probably all of these, but most of all they were brilliant!!
GOOSEBUMPS even after 35 years and a million listens still the GOOSEBUMPS.
+Danny Mccomiskie yeah.
Danny Mccomiskie - me too.
Brian cannot be underrated. In 2020 according to the Guitarist Magazine, he was the best guitarist in the world. How could be Queen underrated when millions of people love them even though Freddie has gone almost 30 yrs ago. They will live forever in our hearts. Anyway, we are living in a totally different world, everything is about many, but try just to find anyone in the world right now is best then Queen is? Our job is to introduce them to the young generations to make them happy. That is what I have just done in a book I wrote about Freddie's songs meaning.
The breathing at the end. I THINK I JUST EXPLODED
1974-1980 The wonder years for me Thnx Queen
This song makes me so calm ☺️
Yes! It's almost trance-inducing.
@@Griwhoolda yes, it’s very dreamy!
I had forgotten this gem of a song...love it and Queen
Sadly, 4 decades later, I just discovered this song for the first time today. All I can say is.... when Brian May gives you a piece of his mind, what a piece and what a mind. 🙌🏽👑💕
Ditto on all counts. Seriously...ditto🥰🎸
If someone else than Brian May had written this I’d think it was about drugs to be honest. It’s the perfect metaphor. Plus the song has an energy in it that makes me think about The Velvet Underground. Or maybe Pink Floyd. Love this song.
Floyd I can accept. but anything as essentially vapid as VU - nah
Kwinquark1 yeah valid point, I think it’s the rythm though, makes me think of like Venus in furs or something
Acoustic Pink Floyd
God this song is so beautiful i don't even know how this is not considered one of the best songs from them
Those harmonies from 1.00 to 1.20 are gorgeous. They give me goosebumps
This was also the first Queen album I ever bought. Got me hooked. A classic! Probably my favorite Queen album.
Why is Brian so underrated ugh. People should really pay more attention to Brian, Roger, and John and not just Freddie.
For all that people complain about the "new fans" and the "new fandom" of Queen, I actually think this has been a big positive - lots of the newer fans have attached themselves to Roger, Brian and John rather than just Freddie, likely because Roger and Brian are still around and active, and so there's a better spread of love.
@@walover165 Well said
Freddie died young and beautiful. For all their talent, Brian, Roger, and John can never top that brilliant career move!
@@walover165 well I’m one of them and I’m I think you’re totally right. Im 10x more attached to Bri and Rog than Freddie (sorry Fred), maybe because I firstly fell in love with Ben Hardy representing Roger, so it might have consequences of my love for him, and by extension Brian, because like you said they’re the two still around and I always considered them closer to each other rather than with Freddie and Deacy
I always thought John the most talented writer. Every song of his was a classic.
WoW. UN trip questo brano. Me lo riascolto! prodotti benissimo per l'epoca.
I cried the whole night after listening to Brian's voice. I'm eternally.. Unconditionally and irrevocably in love with him ❤️🔥 and I'll take this love with me when I'm gone.
Gorgeous, spellbinding, excellent, great, mesmerizing ballad. Brian is on top here
Simply a beautiful song. I think it's clever and simple at the same time... the way the shifts occur is magical... the repeating chordal pattern simply does not get boring to me. I struggle to pick my favourite Queen album... between this and Day at the Races maybe... the music world changed in the 80s and Queen went with it and produced some nice music but the early/mid period is beyond pop music. It's artistic exploration of the human spirit. Thankfully we can now look back on the diversity and sheer beauty of the Queen back catalogue...
Queen II for me was when they were the most Queeniest. Not one filler track on that album.
@@juchetony1910 Its top 5 but I think news of the world is their best
A great song for those trying to learn to play and sing at the same time
I honestly get a big "Crimson and Clover" vibe from this.
I love this song so much. I can’t believe how underrated it is.
This songs have and will remain my best 💖. It only gets better with time.
I truly hurt and feel the pain and anguish of this so much that I can only listen to it a few times a year.
The melody of this song is so beautiful. Brian May really was underrated as a songwriter.
Brian has such a beautiful voice. Is he... I don't know... Ordinary? Yes, normal. This is not Freddie's booming and bright voice. This is the most common human voice. And Brian's skill is legendary. This he will prove in the song "Mother Love" . Namely, in the last verse. Where he could feel what it was like for his friend to DIE. So, Brian has a very beautiful voice, and a very good vocal skill. Well, about his guitar playing, it's not for me to tell
„.. and I don’t like star wars⚡️🎸🤟🏻“ 😂😂😂😂
This song predates Star Wars, it's definitely not about that
@@ThinWhiteAxe Star Wars we’re before this
@@manboss52gaming30 star wars came out in 1977, this song is from 1974
My (second) favorite song from my very favorite Queen album. Right now I simply can't get this one out of my head...
Absolutely a beautiful song. Never gets old.
This is another of those Brian songs that somehow seems to sneak by on the album, but then is the one that brings you back to the album over and over. The relentlessness of the guitar in the opening keeps the whole thing in suspense, and then suddenly the key change to the "chorus" is so delicious.
I always take this song too personally. Like Brian wrote this song for ME. I’m his love. I’m his heart. He’s loves me.
If only we understood more of what Queen were telling us! the ancient philosophy: the eternal longing, as I lie in her cocooon, warm and terrified, in a world ever more cold, I'll follow as they grow, and if I'm very slow she makes me so! Oh mother Mercury in light-full devotion, with gratitude!
seriously tho what does this mean
Sol Baumgartner
I believe this song is about a caring and patient mother. From birth through adulthood.
I always visualized this as a love song to his dominatrix
Andy Petrovich If you'd make a song about your mother in stilettos, then sure
I'm imagining a Star Wars Stormtrooper walking in stilettos now...
This song is so criminally underrated.
"Who knows who she'll make me
As I lie in her cocoon
But the world will surely heal my ills
I'm warm and terrified
She makes me so"
This song is SO underrated
Strange and magical and surreal - the beautiful switch from a simple love homage to sirens and laboured breathing - have always deeply loved this track and then it drops straight into the reprise of Lap of the Gods - otherworldly and transporting !!
349.472 wievs??? THIS ALBUM IS SOOOOOO UNDERRATED !
Very Beatlesque.
Diane Sciacca right
Yeah but also strong The Velvet Underground vibes. It’s like the slow lovechild of Candy says and Heroin
I was thinking that when I heard the closing guitar on "The Loser In The End"
Reminds me a little of Harrison.
Not going to lie I can imagine ELO playing this.
What a nice song. Really enjoyed it. Love you Queen 👑❤
The last bit of that song.... Brian really didn't care about the effect he caused in this poor fangirl's heart.
Imagine actually seeing a Storm Trooper on Stilettos..
I was hoping Captain Phasma might be the ONLY STORM TROOPER on Stilettos. Unfortunately, she only has a Silver Armour on her. No high heels on her.
Funny isnt it ? Its as if Queen knew what was about to happen to Star Wars years ahead of its time..
Lavaboyz OMG! lol 😂😂😂 This made my day!
Lavaboyz um... there actually are few people who go around doing gigs in fetishy Storm Trooper costumes, stilettos and all.
He's actually talking about WW2 Stormtroopers. Even I myself had to look it up after hearing this song for the first time last year to make sense of it.
@@JoeThornhill WW1!
It blows my mind away...
This is such a beautiful song. I've longed to find a woman that makes me feel what this song does, but I feel this kind of romance exists only in songs and stories.
I was just thinking this is one of the most underappreciated Queen songs. Greetings from 2024
I STILL CANT WITH THE BREATHING AT THE END LIKE IS THAT BRIAN BREATHING IM IN LOVE 🥺🥴😳
Best rock album of 74.
Certainly my favourite song in the album.
I'm sober today, but this used to be a great song to get hi to. It just goes on forever and ever and the next thing you know its a couple days later!!!!! 😛
Take care❤
Oh my Brisus....... I love it so much ❤😘
This song is perfect for a rainy night like tonight
Best song from SHA. Absolutely cosmic sound. I feel the universe vibrations.
Best song ending in pop. Hard to name a better one.
esta es una de sus canciones más bonitas dios mío te amo brian
*"She Makes Me (Stormtrooper In Stilettos)" by Queen*
May and Taylor both top notch singers.
Those vocal harmonies make the hairs stand up on the back of my neck.
This song it's so calming because of the melody and brian's vocals
I dunno why but if I didn't read in this song Brian May's on vocals I would always think that Freddie Mercury sings it!
Tbh if I didn't know Brian was singing this, I would've thought it was Paul McCartney.
This album!!!!!!!!…………………………...
This song is beautiful.
Simply beautiful.
Excellence. Music Royalty.
Great song
Takes mr back to the 70s. Awesome
I was so in love with Brian in 2009 and this song reminds me of that. ♥️
Brian May, like many others, were behind Freddie´s shadow, as well as Deacon and Taylor. But who thinks that Queen was Freddie is probably too young, or someone with quick music consumption taste, that means the 85% of world music listeners.
I just love Brian’s voice.
Let's get this song over 1M+
Probably my favorite song after Loser in the End....what Harmonies!!!
la impronta de Freddie Mercury era muy grande, que dejababa en segundo plano a un un genio infravalorado de la música como lo fue y es Brian may
Yes !! Another Beautiful Queen song !
Best album ever....
Queen do some outstanding vocal harmonies
Brian May is a great musician in his own right.
BRIAN🥰🎸‼️
This really sounds like their favorite band was The Beatles. ✨✨✨
É uma música linda demais!❤
