  • Labour is back in power with a big majority and some big promises. The new government says it will fix the NHS, grow the economy and build thousands of new homes, but right now money is tight. There are also challenges abroad as war continues in Ukraine and the Middle East.
    With behind-the-scenes access to the new chancellor Rachel Reeves and key cabinet players, Laura Kuenssberg follows Labour’s first days in office. They say the country is broken, so can they fix it?

      @@alexander92179 Bias is not always an individual vice. Sometimes, it is a collective vice: a group of people who mostly think alike and rarely look outside of their tight bubble. The BBC has become such a bubble, and the vice/ bias is leaning Tory.
      But on an individual level, one of the worst offenders, someone who will always find an angle to pejorate Labour from the right, is Kuensberg. The grimace on her face when the exit poll came in, spoke volumes. Firing her would send a clear signal to the collective that the rightward lurch of the BBC has got to stop, and stop immediately.

    • @Wilbtube
      @Wilbtube Před měsícem

      @@alexander92179 Bias can be induced, not by individual actions, but by collective happenstance. The BBC has become very Try-leaning in recent years, and appointing someone who is outside of that frame of mind, that culd send a smessage of: stop right there, and get back to impartial reporting.
      Firing one of the few worst offenders (individual actions within the collective happenstance) would also send that kind of message.

    The BBC's political coverage, with Kuenssberg at the forefront, is a disgrace to real journalism.
    It's not about informing the public or speaking truth to power - it's about maintaining the status quo and protecting establishment interests.
    The real facts are that Labour is caught in a difficult balancing act.
    They must navigate conflicting demands: ending austerity and improving public services while also maintaining fiscal responsibility.
    This tightrope walk is complicated by unrealistic voter expectations, biased media scrutiny, internal party divisions, and the economic shitshow caused by Brexit.
    The result is a no-win situation where any decision is likely to piss off some segment of the electorate.
    The UK's current state isn't just bad luck or circumstance as Kuenssberg claims.
    It's the result of decades of mismanagement, short-sightedness, and a political class more concerned with keeping their jobs than actually running the country effectively.
    The system is broken, and no amount of budgeting will help fix it overnight.
    The current Labour budget is a temporary fix that fails to address the deeper issues at play.
    Without a serious overhaul of fiscal policy and a commitment to meaningful investment in public services, things will only get worse.
