  • Sibuyan Island is dubbed as the "Galapagos of Asia". It's isolation for centuries has allowed it to nurture hundreds of unique plant and animal species that can only be found in the island. This second biggest island of the province of Romblon with a population of around 60,000 is also not an easy place to visit as it is way out of the usual tourism circuit.
Thanks to Domestic Tourism Invitational Program of the Tourism Promotions Board in partnership with the local government of Romblon, we got the chance to finally visit Sibuyan Island and explored its hidden wonders.
To get there there, we traveled by air, then by land, and finally by sea to reach Sibuyan. We also learned that it is possible to get there from Batangas, from Lucena, and from Roxas, Capiz.
We are pleased to share our journey getting to Sibuyan Island. It is indeed a paradise waiting to be discovered.

Thanks. Another option is to fly to Roxas, Capiz, then ferry from Culasi to Magdiwang.

Hello Sir. I was just wondering if you took the speedboat from San Agustin Port all the way to Port of Ambulong Magdiwang in Sibuyan Island. How long was the travel time? The ferry schedule is a bit inconvenient for us to do, so having the speedboat around if they are available is very, very convenient as our time is limited. Thank you.

the speed boat took us about an hour and a half. it is owned by the LGU and I'm not sure if they allow it to be used by public transport. an alternative is to fly to Roxas Capiz then take the ferry going to Magdiwang.

Yes we went there via flight from Manila to Tablas, then van to San Agustin, boat to Rombon, Romblon, then another boat to Sibuyan. You can also try the 4PM Starlite Ferry from Batangas City that arrives in Sibuyan at 2AM.
