- A lot of viewers love the option to being off grid but lack the technical skills to allow them to do so. Which inspired me to look for campervans that were being made ready to go off grid that you can walk into the dealer and buy, but also to see what off grid packages were on offer from the big accessory manufacturers too.

Wow! Those van prices are eye watering! Has this really become a rich mans pastime or am I just tight!? 😉😁
1:12 did I hear that right? Massive solar panel 75W. That is massive?
Great to see some new layouts, one was identical to my self-built van (IH 710 dark blue one) Good to also see a lot more solar and gasless options too. Thanks for taking us along with you.
Thanks John.. Another great video and good reminder of many of the vans we saw at the show on Saturday, as we try and work out the layout to go with for our Man TGE, to be converted next year. And again great to meet you and Mandy on the way out from the show. We look forward to your next videos.

Nice run through, and it’s great to see things starting to change, think we are in for interesting transformation of how vans are done over the next 5 years.
Have a nice weekend, all the best, David 👍
Lovely vans but very pricey, would rather convert a van and spend money on travelling but thanks for showing what about😊
That was much better than the average show tour John, and you picked out some impressive vans. It was nice to see some ih vans featured, ours is 11yrs old and we've owned it for 8yrs now, and I see they are still using the same basic front room layout, modified of course, because it is, in our opinion, the ideal setup if you dont mind making up the bed each night.. I do like the 4x4 vans,, especially the 4x4 Ducato van with a hydraulic link to the back axle we saw some years ago, a proper off road adventure van.
Cheers John, I enjoyed that.👋.
Interesting video John. Shocked me how little solar that first van had. Oh my. Very nice motors but definitely still prefer the self build route. Keep Loving the Lifestyle Bud 👍
I really enjoy your videos John. San Diego at the beach 🏝️ 🇺🇸🇬🇧
You must have been like a kid in a sweet shop - with all those lovely vans to look at. 😄
That 710 IFLG model had an internal layout almost identical to your own - but for a mere £121,500 ! 😱
Wow - you need such deep pockets to buy anything new nowadays. But it is good to see some of the new tech being introduced. Maybe a decade from now all vans will be gas-less..?
They are not really my style, either wrong base vehicle, wrong layout or far too plush for my needs. But it’s good to look around.
Hello John, I posted the following on your joint chancel so forgive me if have answers there.
I have only just come across your channel from a search for the Maxx Fan installation and I note your video when you fitted it, you showed an inbuilt surround on the base of the fan with an LED light on either side. Please can you advise where you got this surround as it does not appear to be standard with the Maxx Fan 7500 deluxe kit. Thank you and a great channel too 👍🏻
Looks like some fantastic, and expensive Motorhomes. Just imagine if you had £130k to spend on a Motorhome and you bought a 4x4 base vehicle for £70k you would have £60k to kit it out. You could make something that the manufacturer would be selling for a lot more and get the exact layout you want.
😅
Are they EPIC, thought? Or just Epic
John also dctodc 50amp mppt. 200amp batts. 500a shunt +monitor +remote on off inverter sw. etc. is it feasible Thank you
Epic.
I know we need to go away from gas but I think this country is not sunny enough for general camping like you have just shown it’s expensive to go gas less with a good set up let’s hope it comes down in price 👍
I can get all my batteries charged each day with about 3 hours of sunlight or a day with cloud but no rain. That’s in September & October months so far.

The van-build movement has finally filtered through to the big names and brought forward independents to prominence. But those prices................. YAM xx
Hi John.
Don't know if you've encountered this yet but it's a issue we've come across that I haven't heard anyone else mention and or seen designs take into consideration
It isn't uncommon to be parked up with a van that is not on perfectly flat ground. This is not normally an issue unless you have an induction hob. We've encountered a couple of different designs that when put on their maximum setting generate a high frequency vibration. Not in itself a big issue until the kettle that is sat on it starts to gently skate in the direction gravity dictates. Being a smooth glass surface the hob offers no resistance.
It nearly caught us out the first time but now we just turn it down a bit and the problem goes away. Have you come across this yet?
Never had that 🤷🏼♂️, it could be metal under the hob or around it.
Do they have as good thermal, and moisture protection from cold like yours.
Nice to see only 1 or 2 with LPG,
Thanks for sharing.
Enjoying your videos. But Sprinters have one serious problem called Mr Rust even on new models sadly.
Great video
Nice Video GJ 👍👍👏👏
😊
How much?! If you spend that much would you really want to head off to say Morocco with only 3rd party insurance, or risk it being stolen or highjacked in a third world country? Our truck and demountable cost a mere £64000 new in 2019, have decided we will probably keep this rig that we know and have maintained properly as it drops in value so the above is less of a concern. With our 250w solar panel and agm battery we haven’t had shore power for the past 8 months on the road in the USA with our U.K. registered vehicle. The amps and Hz are different here and we don’t want fried electrics. LPG is available everywhere, people are amazed when we say it’s being phased out in the U.K. Thanks for that John.
mad how there are people who cant afford houses but others who can afford £150k to be sat outside theirs 50 weeks a year 😉
270k for a hymer panel van !!..i could by 2 of my knaus sun ti platinum mororhomes for that dosh ..and I thought I has paid tho the nose ..
How can hymer be serious about off grid with 75watts of solar😂
More like haven holiday hookup for 120k, it's only money John only money 😂
270K for a Van, that's unreal.
They wraped in gold😂😂😂😂
what do you think it will go for when it's 12 months old?
@@An.Individual a lot less
With such prices it has to be a good van😅

👍🏼🛠🚐💰🔋
Off grid, electric only. Nah. Definitively need gas, even as back up.
Only for people who are travelling in the tropics
I’ve been living full time in a van without using any gas for over 2 years, so it’s totally possible to do without gas and use free electricity.
