New year, new series, new game!
i have recentlly got a wheel and want to try sim racing. i have little to no patients and there are not a single actual beginners guide anywhere. this was a great video but i was wondering if you could teach me how to get good at it. i dont want to be like a pro and what not. i want to learn it so i can just have fun and drive a car in a straight line and not have the car steer me into a damn wall lol. i would appreciate the help if you can give me some.

You were doing incredible for the first time! You raced almost exactly like how iRacing wanted every driver to drive to start. Incredible!
Thanks for setting me back up🙂 I started off pretty clean, but gradually found myself getting subconsciously more aggressive with my racing. This made me realize I gotta dial it back a bit!
You just got my sub. Just started iRacing as well a few weeks ago. I am also comming from the official F1 titles. I was pretty fast there but it just wasn't sim enough for me. Gonna follow your journey here on YT! 😄

Oran Park is now carved up for houses now. I raced there in the 90s. and viewed many a race. super sad to see it go but great Iracing got to scan it before it was ripped up.

1 year later I’m curious to know how your experience has gone on I racing because I started a couple weeks ago and it’s really bad racing most of the time with people driving like insane psychopaths in almost every single race. It’s really bad and I’m surprised how bad it really is for a paid service. It’s not cheap either as you probably know

Getting into sim racing, looking at the moza r5 bundle to start out.
This looks like an absolute blast, I'd even have a good time driving the MX-5's in rookie all day.

Definitely need to place higher then you car rating after rookies to get your I rating up to progress

Can't lie I haven't touched the F1 games since July so outside the obvious (WOR), I haven't a clue where the good leagues are these days
You've gotta practice your starts man. You're sitting in neutral with the clutch ENGAGED, reving the engine, and then just slamming it into first when the lights go out without touching the clutch at all! Can you imagine doing that in a real car? It would grenade the transmission. Leave it in first with the clutch disengaged, then slip the clutch until it's fully engaged. Just like you would with a normal h-pattern car.
I wasn't holding the clutch, it was the game engaging that due to the clutch settings I was running

I’d you’re ganna take this serious you should ditch that formula wheel for formula cars and GT3 type only. And get a rally or circle wheel for cars that have them in game. It will give you much more car control in grip and when loosing it since their steering racks are so much longer. Sadly the round wheels can translate to either or, but the formula wheels are a huge limit on standard wheel cars. Just due to steering angle available
Again I usually match the wheel in game to the style wheel I run on my wheel base. The WRC from fanatec is a frat wheel for the price. Keep it up!
Just got my d license and out of rookies and 1st race got rammed 3xs off the coarse fun
Just keep at it, avoiding other people is just as important a skill to develop as pure speed!
Does the Logitech G25 work in Iracing in 2023? I might pick one up in a couple days, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Everyone is slowly bugging away from codemasters. I've done it too and every person i knew played f1 codemasters has left as well
And with EA onboard its probaply not gonna get closer to a simulator... Not regreting my choice to leave this game so far.
The games have just gotten stale and the repetitive bugs across multiple titles have just turned me off from the game at the minute. Big changes are needed for F1 23
If you want to learn to drive well, race formula vees. They are unforgiving but they train you how to drive a track
Will definitely have to give those a go at some point, they look like a lot of fun!
@@xSmithyx stay away from thr Toyota GR86 races. They are bumper car races.

I don’t understand why I racing doesn’t make you dive bomb in your words. Why is it ok to dive bomb in other games? I don’t understand your point of view on this one

i think you should show you narrating vs you just staring at a screen.. or maybe foot positioning or HUD info.. that face cam is just odd lol. no offense otherwise i enjoyed the content
In all honesty, I did intend to live commentate over these but messed up the audio recording and couldn't remove the face cam footage once I'd realised my mistake! Totally my bad, the face cam is gone from next week's video
