It will still be enjoyed in 3024

Everyone looks like they're having the time of their lives. One day I want to look like I'm having that much fun when I'm playing.
I wish I could play. I never understood notes, though, and can't grasp the concept to this day, for the most part. My dream is to play the violin, yet, I think, that'll not happen.
Same!
Ainda estou a ouvir.
@@marvinradermacher5781 It won't happen unless you pick one up and try. Try.

This music is immortal and will be listened to forever.
Vivaldi: the true father of metal
***** Vivaldi was Italian, but I know there are linguistic similarities with Spanish and Italian
I understand now! Thanks!
One of the true spirits of music. Wizards sounds
And yet there are no good quality metal covers of Folia, sadly enough! Metal musicians, are you up for the challenge?!
Vivaldi was a catholic priest. Did you know about this?
Antonio Lucio Vivaldi is the eponym of Italian baroque musique and one of the greatest musicians ever lived. Proud to be his compatriot!

The red priest is the foundation of Italian Baroque. Bach was the master, and Handel was the great populizer
I love the flowing movements of the musicians . The passion they show adds to beauty of the music . This music lifts my spirits. Vivaldi takes me to my happy place. Chases away my demons and makes me a better person.
How very true. Vivaldi is SUBLIME.
You are right!

@deborahold7531 😊
Bravo. Never tired of listening this performance. Came to discover the wonders of baroque music in my 60’s. Never too late I guess.

Divine.....Vivaldi is a God of Music
brianzolo1 For real !
Vivaldi is a God
He has certainly written a lot of inspiring pieces , especially the Christmas kind .
Forgive me, you know something of music, have sensitivity to music, why speak so lightly and contemptuously. Perhaps you could compose something as beautiful as this work or dozens of those that vivaldi wrote. Please be respectful and apologize.-
adrian carlos Cassano I was advised NOT to respond to obnoxious replies on Internet and now I'm passing that advice to you . Just enjoy these skillful musicians doing their Vivaldi thing .
I have watched a lot of baroque on CZcams but this the best l have ever seen. It is not just magnificent playing it is a magnificent performance. Totally stunning musically, a powerful and fiery arrangement; but the visual element to this video is what makes it even more special and the best of the best
I just saw this piece from our local orchestra played with the same director on harpsichord
Goosebumps.
Wonderful!!! I can hear it a thousand times and never tired of listening. Such a joy!!
Emocionante!!!
Ohhh, absolutely, I was just thinking the same!!!
1001 and more. Improves my painting and decorating!!
I can't believe she's playing the harpsichord and conducting at the same time. Just performing OR conducting this piece is incredibly difficult - let alone both at once! Seriously impressed!
That's typical of Renaissance and baroque eras. Though sometimes it was the principal violinist.
Alpha Juliet Charlie Hotel I'm glad you made me notice that I can notice
Conductor/Harpsicordist was a student of Leonard Bernstein.
Welcome to the world of music before minorities corrupted it into a quick way to make money as they sold drugs to innocents

A masterful interpretation.
Olivier Brault has a special gift, hearing and seeing him is moving. Thanks to Apollo's Fire for this marvel.
Just watched this again, It makes my hair stand on end. Sends shivers down my spine. i can't get enough of this. Rock 'n' Roll Vivaldi. I've been loving this since I was a child. Thank you my amazing parents, you turned me on to Vivaldi and Thelonious Monk and The Modern Jazz Quartet. Thank you Mum and Dad. And i turned you on to Frank Zappa and David Bowie. What a beautiful life. I'm so grateful. You gave me music. i love you world. Thank you Jesus.
This is what makes me a proud Italian. A masterpiece like no other. Respect.
Yes, you can be proud. There's a lot of beautiful music made in Italy. Best regards from Germany an all the best to Italy, your country suffered a lot the last week's. May you all recover soon.
@@hampurista thanks very much for the nice reply.
@@davidbauer1260 I love Bach. There is no point comparing artists. It's like comparing an elephant with a giraffe. They're both a Nature's creation and they both belong to it, they're just two different animals.
@@antobellog1878
Really?
Mozart considered Bach the best, and Bach greatly admired Vivaldi, so much so that Bach transcribed at least one Vivaldi violin piece for harpsichord.
They were both contemporaries, and both composers of baroque classical music, both were musical geniuses, and both were not too highly regarded in their day, which is why they both died pretty much penniless.
And actually, the main theme or melody from this piece is not even a Vivaldi invention. It's from a French composer named Jean-Baptiste Lully. His piece is called, " Les Folies d'Espagne". Check for yourself. There's some comparisons.
What's the problem?
And, you most certainly can make comparisons between elephants and giraffes.
Both are warm blooded animals, both are land mammals, both are herbivores, and both are quadrapeds(4 footed). There's some comparisons.
That's because they are both, not creations of nature, but creations of Almighty God. Nature is a creation of God. It's called common design. There are differences and similarities throughout the creation.
I originally was just trying to pay you and your fellow countrymen a compliment. Can't say anything these days without someone getting offended.
@@davidbauer1260 well if you believe in god you can call it god creation. I'm at the next step, for me it's Nature creation. There is no god for me. Anyway I m not offended at all. I'm just sorry you think I am. You're a free man so feel free to say whatever pleases you.
It gives you shivers, every single time.
I have listened to this probably 50 times; I LOVE it!!
Amazing what an orchestra can do when the players watch each other and not just the baton!
Obviously the work of the conductor is done before the performance: the orchestra should be so well trained they are able to do it on their own but he/she deserves to be up there to receive the credit.
For complex works you do need a conductor or everything will disintegrate quickly. The conductor is the guiding force that binds all instruments together. The conductor breathes life into the piece, that is why giants like von Karajan are revered to this day.
Excellent said!
Yes I did notice that.
Players don't really look at the conductor in a performance unless they are like winds and need cueing.
I swear this brings musician side of me especially while I’m driving it’s like the music takes over my body and it’s flowing through me and I have to play it out love love love this sooo much I feel this in my bones been playing the violin since I was just a mere kid
HA, agreed! Then you end up explaining it to the police officer who pulled you over for speeding! Thankfully they are understanding...
we are so lucky, we can listen to any composer at anytime of our choosing our great grand parents were deprived of such joy. maybe once in their lifetime was the extent.
I listen to this every day at work. Wow. One of my favorite pieces!
Always make me smile !
Every day as I paint houses.
How masterfully they play, and with such passionate joy these musicians play. The beauty they create is nothing short of magical. This group was born to play La Follia! This may very well be my favorite interpretation of this Vivaldi masterpiece.
This is literally my favorite piece of all time.
Vivaldi was the Master !
i can't stop listening to this. It's amazing and magical ♥️
How true. I'm addicted to Vivaldi. Simply gorgeous music, played impeccably by the fantastic🥰 musicians.
There is nothing better then musicians that are passionate about their art.
The best Folia performance ever! Been listening to this for years and am yet to tire of it.
"Follia" , not "Folia" ;-)
@@isobeldeeley7286 thanks for your reply, I think I will continue to call it 'follia'... Quite sure that Vivaldi, or Corelli or Salieri had called it like this ;-). This performance is wonderful! Bye
@@emilianochannel it depends on which original sources you read. Vivaldi, Salieri et alia were well aware of the musical genre of the 'folia' originating from Spain and on Corelli and Salieri's music sheet it actually says 'La Folia', or 'La Folia di Spagna'. Either way this is indeed a great performance.
C' est envoûtant, that's all I can say...
Vivaldi genio italiano.

I was so taken in by the music and visual experience that I am sure I attended in person! I actually clapped here on my armchair! Bravo!!!!

Standing ovation...the stage was on fire with your interpretation.
Music is the sound of nature. Lucio knew this very well and he tried to be the messenger of the nature. Only for those who could hear it......
Olivier Brault has great camera presence. The hair , the clothes, the demeanor, the virtuosity. I'll bet he dose'nt sit home alone Saturday nights.
Beautiful performance; gets the pulse accelerating! Music has to rank as one of humankind's greatest inventions, and unlike the last gadget from Apple, the works of
Vivaldi, Bach, etc. will never become obsolete. 10/17/2014
Yes! Vivaldi, and Bach brandenburg concertos...
I love the size of this group! What a stunning, emotive recording of one of my classical favorites
What a wonderfully expressive recording!!!
Melancholic Baroque is the best way to take a virtual trip around the lesser seen corners of the Universe.
Or very deep in your soul... Which is also a lesser known place in the universe
Indeed; that’s precisely what I meant. The soul is the least known corner of the Universe.
Transcending time and space, and races,
Vivaldi‘s music heals and purifies and warms and enriches people‘s hearts
They wonderful performance embodies the spiritual and musical aesthetics Vivaldi
The most beautiful composition of "La Folia" I've ever witnessed, just saw them in Edmonton, hard to believe that they could possibly sound any better in person, but they most certainly did
From New Zealand at the lower end of the world i find this so beautiful.
I had been obsessing over finding which this masterpiece was, ever since the late '80s, when I first heard a variation of it in a Givenchy commercial, for the Ysatis perfume. I found out which one it was less than 7 years ago and it has been a constant on my playlist ever since. This performance is superb. ❤
Im boxer, and if i dont listen to that special version before every fights i can not be focused ! Thx Vivaldi, Thx life and thx for geniuses
Absolutely amazing. Take a look at the audience: no one is moving a muscle. A captivating and rapturous performance of my favorite Vivaldi piece. Thank you so much!!!
Don't mind me, just coming back for my Olivier Brault fix...
Although the music itself is deeply compelling (how can anyone not like Vivaldi? and this particular interpretation of La Folia is one of the most energetic I've ever heard) and Apollo's Fire as a whole is an amazing ensemble.
Marvelous prestation demonstrating the maestria of the director/harpsichrod player! Wonderfull work! Vivaldi may be proud of you!

I am Italian. The exact words are " LA FOLLIA" (= THE MADNESS) . Hello and thank you for masterfully interpreting my compatriot Antonio Vivaldi !!!
Yes, but it is _La Folia_ in Spanish (where the follies originate) so neither spelling is more or less correct. Since this is Vivaldi's set of variations I probably would use the Italian spelling in this case, but it doesn't particularly matter.
Folia is an spanizh word for a sapanis dance. Many musicians of each origin made many folias, thy named then "la folia de España" *or "la folie d'espagne" . Many of them Spaniards, but Also Italians, French an other origins. But it is Spanish in origin so "folia" is correct,
Excelente trabajo y magnífica dirección. Saludos desde Colombia.
Watch 6:39 and tell me if that is the most Metal piece of music you have ever heard, if you say no your lying.
I was just thinking how fucking awesome it would be watching Symphony X's Michael Romeo have a go at this piece...
I think it lends itself to some seriously flavorful soloing that silences them all.
Eh, the original arrangement by Vivaldi is actually MORE metal, if you can believe it.

Vivaldi is fun! I used to play him on the violin, when I was a young boy. My father often came by and told me to stop with that "random trash". Obviously he did not have a clue!
Fabulous rendition.
Amazing performance !
I saw them live last night. Unbelievable. So full of life and passion. This arrangement of Vivaldi's La Folia is actually Jeannette Sorrell's; the original was for many fewer instruments.
I am thrilled that the modern style of playing for baroque music is now also being played in America. Vivaldi would enjoy hearing the wonderful orchestra.
This is pure magic, but then every piece of Vivaldi is my favored.

The spanish later folía is a melody that engages, and the proof is that it has been used by innumerable composers (Bach, Beethoven, etc.). But in the hands of the greatest Baroque composer is an unmatched gem. Vivaldi's folia deserves to be as famous as the Four Seasons.
@ANS HISPANO It comes from Portugal
