Get To Know Robert:
Robert Lee Jun-fai (born 16 December 1948) is a Hong Kong musician. He is the younger brother of martial artist Bruce Lee as well as Phoebe Lee, Agnes Lee, and Peter Lee. He is the uncle of Shannon Lee and Brandon Lee. Robert was born on 16 December 1948 in Hong Kong as the youngest son of Lee Hoi-chuen (李海泉), a leading Chinese Cantonese opera and film actor of the 1940s and Grace Ho (何愛瑜).
Robert founded a Hong Kong beat band called The Thunderbirds in 1966. The Thunderbirds quickly became famous in Hong Kong. A few singles were sung mostly or all in English. Robert also released a duet with Irene Ryder.
He later moved to Los Angeles in the United States and stayed with his older brother Bruce Lee for a brief period. After his bother’s death, Robert released an album dedicated to him called The Ballad of Bruce Lee. A single of the same title was also released.
In 1977, Lee married Hong Kong singer and actress Sylvia Lai (黎小斌), who performed under the stage name of Sum Sum (森森). They had a son named Clarence Lee Ka-ho (李家豪) in 1980. Robert is now the grandfather to Clarence’s son Bruno.
On 27 November 2005, Robert helped unveil a Bruce Lee statue in Hong Kong, celebrating what would have been Bruce's 65th birthday. He is also the producer of the 2010 film Bruce Lee, My Brother.

Your dad was/is an icon and so respected. We never! get tired of Bruce Lee stories. He was such an intense man with extreme skills, character and integrity.
I never knew Bruce had a little brother and seeing him for the first time is like seeing Bruce..

I'm 27 years of age and didn't grow up during the '60s or never met him,
but I've been a always been a huge admirer of Bruce and my impression of him every time

I know this is a late response, but Bruce had other siblings: older brother Peter (passed on), Agnes, Phoebe and Robert.
Phoebe and Robert were in the intro to the film, "Bruce Lee: My Brother". It was more of a drama explaining Bruce's life and family in Hong Kong before leaving for the States.
Bruce Lee also had a older brother Peter Lee who passed in 2008 from a heart attack. His eldest sibling is his sister Phoebe who is 84. He also has an older sister Agnes.

This was such a treat to have Shannon introduce her uncle R. Lee and share his account of growing and living with Bruce Lee. This really made my day.
As a behavioral health,therapist that has dedicated my adult life working with patients with substance abuse and mental health disorders. I believe that when I got clean and sober from alcoholism back in 1991. I made a decision that I would communicate my life to helping those individuals and their families that are struggling with these disorders so that they can get back on track of living and productive life. Which from end it's a blessing to have the opportunity to help and make a difference.
But when my life doesn't agree with me. I have always since I could remember was to watch one of Bruce Lee's movies to help me get through some of this challenging moments, and get perspective.
And yesterday, I was watching " Return of the Dragon-AKA: "The Way of the Dragon." And help
While I was making some Chinese chicken fried rice. Which I learned while hanging out with my Chinese friends in Chicago China Town. And af

In the mid-70s I remember buying Robert's recordings of *_The Ballad of Bruce Lee_* and *_JKD._* Yeah. "You can find the way with JKD." I jogged and trained to the vibes of it. I mean I had, what I thought was, my Bruce Lee body, abs and everything.
Today it would take a whole dredging crew to find just one ab! At that time just like a billion other people in the world I thought I was going to be the next Bruce Lee. Like there will be no other Elvis, I quickly realized that there would never be another like him no matter How Many new martial artists and singers appear on the scene or how many biops are made about the two.

I am watching The Legend of Bruce Lee! I am crying a lot because I wish he could be alive. His life was not easy. I feel also for Linda. I don’t know how she overcame her loses. The fact that Robert said that Bruce pranked him when they were younger is definitely the older brother thing Bruce would do to Robert. And Shannon talked about Brandon (her older brother) being a prankster and playing jokes on her too. Brandon definitely got that prankster side from Bruce ❤️

A brilliant podcast gem for Bruce Lee fans. I was born in 73. My dad named me after Bruce, Ar Long. My dad, a big Bruce Lee fan, and he made sure I trained in martial arts as a kid. Which I still train to this day. Thank you to you Shannon and Robert for sharing your treasured memories.

Well I just want to say thank you Shannon for you keeping your dad's memory alive that is very awesome and I have family come on the Bruce Lee podcast and express their feelings and their memories that is so awesome and yes Bruce Lee always had a way with everybody I am 62 years old now but I was 13 years old when I first saw my first Bruce Lee movie and from that moment on I was hooked on your dad I watched everything that he had every movie he made everything that came out about your dad I would get so I would get to know him better and better I loved his philosophy and most of all I could tell he was a man that had a very good heart and so even at 62 years of age I still get excited when I see any pictures or films on Bruce Lee or anything that is about Bruce Lee and yes your dad changes a lot of people and he got me into using my mind just listening to his philosophy Bruce Lee was a great man and he will always be missed and I don't ever think they'll be anyone that'll be as close or even get as close to being like your dad Bruce was so I just want to say thank you Shannon and I hope in the future you have more family members and have more episodes with his brother Robert because I know he has a lot to share and you know memories are the greatest things that we can have and are the greatest things we can share alright Shannon thank you keep up the good work

Just came across this today. Hearing these stories is sooo sweet. Thank you for sharing Shannon. For the last 15 years I probably think about Bruce just about every day with great gratitude. Like many here, I was influenced by the likes of Bruce to take martial arts in my youth. But it wasn't until reading a couple of his books in the early 2000s that I gained a deep appreciation of Burce the man, his generous heart and his sound wisdom. I remember one day as I was reading Artist of Life that I just burst into tears thinking that this great man was gone way too early. And that if still around how his voice, his passion, his principles would have changed the world or at least would have augmented it in some way to where folks would not be so out of alignment. Although Bruce was not religious(which is a good thing) he understood the difference between the nature of living under the bondage and control of Law and the freedom and authenticity of living by Grace and truth. I believe through perceiving the value and worth within people Bruce discovered some of the redemptive principles Jesus taught which are intrinsic in mankind. (Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me)
Bruce is one of the most inspirational men in my library and his determination is a constant reminder and motivation to me. I love him dearly and speak goodness, blessing and life over his family whenever he comes to remembrance.
Shannon and Robert, thanks for sharing so much about your family from the "Good Ol Days". Bruce has been an inspiration to me since I first met him in 1967 in his Oakland studio. I was only in jr. high school at that time and a friend told me that one his dad's worker's was taking "jeet kun do" from a guy named Bruce Lee. I had never heard of this new style of kung fu and didn't know why it was being taught to non Chinese which ruffled a lot of "feathers" in the San Francisco Chinatown martial arts community. I had taken the bus over to Oakland and saw that Bruce was teaching different ethnicities. Bruce told me he would teach them as long as they were interested in learning. He was very down to earth just like you and Robert. He left an impression on me to take up martial arts and eventually took lessons also at Wong Jack Man's studio known as 880. I remember Bruce and Wong Jack Man's fight night to settle their conflicts but no one had ever talked about the result as the studio was restricted and closed to only a few Sifus. Bruce was a very humble and respectful person and did not ever look down on you. He was quite and inspiration to me to do better and challenge myself to do the best you can. Thanks Robert for writing and singing the Ballad of Bruce Lee. Thank you Shannon and Robert for sharing so much of your father and brother. Bruce will forever live in our hearts.
