Had Salomon boots and trainers for years and they LAST for years too even with heavy use. I do 50km+ a week walking and my Salomon Hypulse trainers are still going strong. Your feet and ankles will thank you for it 🙂

I like Salomon shoes as they fit narrower feet and generally last well. Gore-Tex is great for dissipating sweat but I would still advise buying decent hiking socks (I prefer a thin wicking sock under a thicker, contoured sock). I hope you also have some walking poles. All the best with re-gaining your fitness.
