- Forget music-themed houses, The Sterling, Colorado Fire Department got into the holiday spirit by syncing the lights on five trucks to Christmas music. This is the second year in a row they've done so. (Video: Jason Bostron)

Thank you Sterling Fire Department, my Dad just passed away on December 20,2018. He was a firefighter for 22 years and served his community well. This was wonderful to see and we appreciate all of your hard work and effort. Bravo to all of you!! Merry Christmas and Thank you for keeping your community safe ALL through the year!!
Miss Vicki....your daddy sounds like an authentic hero! Before my Daddy passed he'd remind us when we lost someone we loved - who DEEPLY loved us - we are duty bound to be secretly happy for them... glad they did not have to suffer the pain of losing us. He said this is ESPECIALLY true of our elders. I have missed my daddy everyday since he passed a few days before Fathers Day 2001...but I find endless comfort knowing he never had to attend the services of any of his adult children. I took his gifts and some extra items I gathered to a Veterans Home where we barbecued and had a day dad would have been proud of....
It'll get easier....but for now, when it's really hard....be comforted.... glad for him, that he never had to live without you.....have the happy holidays he😇 your new angel would "Dad Demand" you have.....best wishes to you and your family.

It isn't all that creative... They just took clips of their lights and then edited them to sync with it... not all that impressive.
@@HDFoxra there are no visible cuts in the video. and it is impressive for people to put the work in CUTS OR NOT.
@@joemurgolo4917 There are visible cuts ALL..OVER... Plus look at the background lighting... some of the clips the blue lights are off, others they're on. Its edited left and right. And no, its not all that 'impressive'. . . Maybe to those who've never really tried doing something like this, or edited anything, or what have you... but to those who have, its really not all that impressive for maybe half an hour of recording, then an hour or two of editing...
Don't get me wrong, it looks awesome, and its VERY well done minus the obvious cuts and background lighting issue. it definitely took them some time to do it, and they worked hard on it. But as someone who's done this countless times, and played with DMX controllers that will do this in REAL TIME.... this is like, a middle school kid got his hands on Premiere and fooled around for a bit sort of level...
@@HDFoxra DMX is fun btw. yes i understand i watched it at a lower resolution and i now see the cuts. I completely understand i have allloooot of experience with DMX so i do see your side on this one. I assume you do this professionally?

It's 10:37 PM Christmas night. I had a sad Christmas meal at the new job assignment. Chicken!? It was like 5#. No delicious accoutrements. If only my boss had asked me to cook for everyone. There wasn't anything remotely festive in their environment. And sadly I wasn't the only one who felt that way. Christmas should inspire positivity. New hope and joy. Thank goodness I found this. Great effort to demonstrate the spirit of JOY and GIVING.

I watch this every year.
As the alarm rings in the background the engineer is overheard saying "Uh, Cap, all the batteries are dead and we can't start any of the vehicles."
Negative, they're all plugged into systems that charge the batteries while plugged in. They auto eject when the engine is turned on, same with the exhaust.
@@dfw_fpis7655 -- Yes, I know there are charging systems for the trucks and engines but you gotta admit in a slapstick comedy that is the kind of thing that happens. You have to understand my first visit to a firehouse was with my great-uncle, a retired captain for the Knoxville, TN fire department. He would go to the firehouse and cook lunch for the guys from his old watch. I wore this nice searsucker set of shorts and shirt for the visit. He took me upstairs to the sleeping quarters and let me slide down the pole. Bare legs and arms do not slide down a pole. They stick like glue. They could not reach me from above and I was too high up the pole to be reached from below. All I could do was laugh at the absurdity of it all. Finally worked my way down hand over hand. I was all of seven and it was 65 years ago. No, I was never a fireman but my work kept me in contact with the fire department almost daily. You kind of pick up stuff over a 30 years period. Merry Christmas

Wilhard45: But.... know that Murphy's Law rules in emergency medical response. Lifepak crashed on a run b/c battery wasn't put back on charge after a prior shift's last run. Shift happens....

Surely here in Germany our Firework and Emergency Mobiles don't have so many lights...sniff
That's because some American drivers don't seem to notice first responders. More lights means more likely to notice. The also really cool in instances like this.
Yeah, Unfortunately, our first responders need them and the sirens: too many idiots on their cell phones.
@@stevencovington4715 Here it is by law strictly forbidden to use a phone while you are driving. A ticket is expensive. You have to park before you can use it. Surely many drivers don't care...
