Gouache is water based, which is not compatible with resin. That is why it failed. Next time try acrylic paint or alcohol inks as your resin colorant
*takes notes* I've recently bought some clay and alcohol inks so I'll keep this in mind! I can't wait to make some charms like gazoo's~ 💖
Yup! They’re also using uv resin…that doesn’t cure well if it’s too deep. That’s why they had pockets of uncured resin.
Hi, I've been working with UV resin for about 7 years, and I want to give some info from my experience/experiments:
It's true that the reason gouache doesn't work well in UV resin is because it's water based, but really so is acrylic paint to an extent. It can sometimes do the job in two part epoxy resin because the curing time allows enough water to evaporate as the resin heats up and cures. I've been successful before tinting UV resin with acrylic paint, but then I had to let it stand uncured for at least half an hour after mixing, and it seems to depend on the pigment itself (I had an awful experience with sap green but ultramarine blue was fine). It's more hassle than it's worth, and since it's so opaque you have to cure it in layers. Alcohol ink is easier since alcohol is quicker to evaporate than water, but it's not the most lightfast. It can also cause warping if you don't let the alcohol evaporate. My vote would probably be for either specific resin pigments, ground up soft pastels or colored mica.
Apologies for this wall of text, please have a lovely day everyone!
Yep acrylic was better
OMG thankyouuu so much for the long explanation😭💗 you guys are truly the best! i’ve searched the resin tutorial on youtube and google but i found no answer- once again thankyou for helping me! i’ll try to use alcohol ink/ resin pigment for the next creations hihi🥹
my toxic trait is thinking i could easily do this while i have zero experience with clay and am very bad at painting lmao. all of this is so adorable, i love the little pool and the capybara sm
SAME- I feel like I can easily do this but I know really deep down that it will NOT turn out this good by any chance
Well you need to start somewhere. If u think u can't do well, it's better than not starting at all. 1st try meant to be bad. A few of tries, I think u will be as good as the video.
Crafting is a learned skill. you can do it it you want to, all you gotta do is put in the effort to learn the skills :) im trying to be encouraging but English is my 2nd language i hope this is ok
@@immabananana english is my second language as well!! but as far as i can tell yours is perfect :)
and i totally get what you mean, that's so nice of you! i just get frustrated super easily with crafts and stuff like this
the bubbles actually make the pool more realistic tho🤌✨ they're all so pretty.🎊
since it's supposed to look like water, i actually think the bubbles in the resin are perfect! a "happy accident" as bob ross would say :) i love everything, it all came out so cute - i really want to try to make a little frying pan magnet now!
Hello, Im a nail tech and also a resin hobbyist so I work with UV all the time. What I can suggest is entirely covering the clay product with the lamp and work with thin layers so resin can fully cure because you have a small UV lamp, even if its translucent the layers will not fully cure on time if its thick. Lastly, UV resin best works with alcohol based dyes or markers.
uv resin cures in layers! in this case I think the top layer cured before the bottom layer did, so next time u could try doing multiple but thinner layers of resin^^ u could even experiment where the bottom layer has a darker color n it gets lighter w more layers (kinda like the Minecraft glass water effect hehe)
also love the details on the ketchup one!!
aaah thankyou so much for the explanation, i’ll try this technique for my next creations- thankyou sweetie!😭💗
Idk much about uv resin so I have a question like is it mandatory to have the machine to dry up the uv resin I may sound so stupid but can you please recommend is there something I could use instead of uv resin to get that liquid like thing as I am not having that machine or that thing
@@hashihashi9919you can use a uv light or the sun. Hope that helps.
I think the bubbles add an interesting effect!!
@Seschal yeah, agree ✨️
hello friends- please watch in 1080p/ 1440p resolution for the best watching experience ok! hope you enjoy the video as much as i enjoyed the process🥹💐💗🌸
btw i really love the intro of this time’s video HAHAHAHA lmk what do you think!
Oki
where is the background music from? also loved this video it was so beautifully aesthetic and calming 😊
17:08 Even with the air bubbles, it still looked nice 😮💛
I don’t see anyone mentioning this, but I love how you made each clip on-beat. It makes for a lovely watch, especially when added to the incredible art!
definitely cure large amounts of uv resin in layers so it won’t bubble up. but i actually don’t mind the bubbles on the pool one, it makes it looks more realistic 💖
I love the tiny little details on the condiments 😭😻 so cute!
omg the capybara 😭💕
Doesn't matter the bubbles, they are so pretty ! Your work is always truly amazing and makes me want to create even more 🌻
I was so invested in this video... I NEEDED to see how these trinket dishes turned out. And that is a great attitude; yes, keep trying till the resin works out - you will definitely nail it!
I love the swimming pool, the strawberry shortcake, and the Heinz bottle
The pool for sure is my favorite, followed by the condiments. The shot of the uncured resin being blown by the hairdryer makes me want to go swimming!
THE KETCHUP AND PEANUT BUTTER MADE ME HAPPY 😊😊😊
all the pieces are so pretty! It's really interesting to see how you use air dry clay as I've recently just got some 🥰
make sure to have good ventilation and use gloves while handling resin. that stuff is serious and prolonged exposure can lead to health issues (or sensitivities)
I think the bubbles made the trinket dishes a lot more gorgeous ❤
It’s a huge miracle your video appeared in my FYP cuz I’ve been looking for videos that make these clay trinkets for the longest time (not that I wanna make them but I always knew there would be something therapeutic about watching them). Can’t wait for more videos like this!!! ❤
These are some of the BEST clay trinkets I've seen 😍😍
I loved the results, your videos are always so satisfying to watch ❤
UV resin should be cured in thin layers, without water-based colorants. Too thick and it won't cure, too much water content and it will fail. You can use dry pastels to color resin, or mica powder, or alcohol based colorants safely as long as you are curing the UV resin in thin layers. =^^=
i love watching people do what they love!!
Aw me too!
Waaa I’ve been wanting another clay video, yours are so relaxing and well made! Thanks, have a nice day✨🌸🫧🪻

Jovi clay is my FAVOURITE brand of air dry clay, very nice consistency and I love it ❤️ ✨

Love love love youuuuu videooo
its so cute i actually cried
I love it.
They all ended up so damn cute!! I love your attention to details with the tiny strawberries and all the info of the brands in the bottles!! I love the Heinz bottle. So cute. 🙂 The summer pool is gorgeous, even with the bubbles. They make the water look more real. haha!! 😁 The capybara is so cute too!!
I think the huge bubbles are formed because of the other coating you used, it might be reacting to resin which is definitely stronger
thats why I dont use any other coating with resin cuz of the chemical reacting,..
omg it makes sense! thankyou so much for the tip, i’ll try to avoid my mistake!💗
Amazing
I love all of them especially the capybara one!
omg yayyy!! i've been waiting in anticipation for ur next clay video hehe i loooove watching them :)) they inspire me smm
Omgggg. I didn’t know you can sand this kind of material…. TnT Gonna try it again soon haha
My favorite was the jam pb and ketchup the details were phenomenal
OMGGG i love ur videos sm the moment i open my youtube I IMMEDIATELY CLICKED ON UR VIDEO AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
the layer of resin youre trying to cure in one go is way too thick so obviously only the top part will hearden, leaving the rest underneath liquid. you need to cure it in parts, very thin layers one by one on top of each other etc !
aaah i see thankyou for the explanation! i’ll try the layering technique, thankyou!🥹💗
😆I feel very relaxed watching your video
That looks so awesome!! The capybara is adorable though 😊
You got a new sub😊🌸
Satisfying videoo🎉🎉
UV resin isn't really meant for big projects, so weird curing can happen. Epoxy resin is best for that. As for coloring, I'd use something that isn't water soluble like water color/gouache or paint in general (MAAAAYBE acrylic but in small doses). I wouldn't fully suggest alcoholic inks either since the colors will fade. Regular pigmented ink should work (in small doses) and epoxy & uv specific colorants would definitely work.
ok but can we talk about how the music and the video editing matches🤩🤩
Such kawaii things! Just wondering what thickness is your acrylic rolling guides, please? 😊
oops but the bubbles do make the work cuter! everything is so well-made;;; all so pretty
My review;
Honestly, what a fantastic video, they way her hand worked to make those cute and adorable lookin shapes was just fantastic. Her colour schemes were amazingly satisfying, and the soft comfort of food made out of clay is calming, its an amazing video you made and i hope you grow more!
