It's not about just Brits, the problem is the massive tourism, we can't handle it. Half island is without water, but the Hotels have all the supplies... Furthermore, we are in housing crisis 💀
Without tourism the island would fold within 1/2 years the money what keeps yous afloat comes from ppl visiting the island. Don’t bite off your nose to spite your face

I go to Tenerife Norte to avoid all of the "chavs".A mix of mainly local upper class and middle class brits and Germans. Southern Tenerife is fine as long as you don't stay in the los Cristianos or playas de las Americas.

"Higher Quality Tourists" are the very people these locals are deterring from going there. 😂😂 If you can afford to stay away, you won't be going here. A majority of these Countries rely on tourism for their economy. Their Governments need to deal with their citizens.

So who owns all the bars and clubs in Los Christianos and Playa? Brits or locals? If it’s locals then you only have yourself to blame for attracting that type of clientele. If it’s Brits then you need to sort out your laws to prevent foreigners owning bars.
That said, if I wanted to go abroad (and I’m not your noisy rowdy drunken type) I wouldn’t pick Tenerife.
There’s a fair bit of mugging goes on in Tenerife - particularly towards the over 50s and I’d be classed in that bracket. Who’s responsible for your gang and drug culture? That’s what you’re marketing so if you don’t like the input you need to sort your output. You get what you attract.

I think these two men he went with knowing he was off his tree should have made sure he got on the bus or a cab, they went home I would have stayed and helped to try and work out what happened the bare minimum they have no empathy. It could be he just got lost and has fallen but also the woman who owned the place he was saw an hour later walking in the direction and drive past him that was odd.
Also wouldn’t they have a charger there if he had an iPhone the probability is one of them would have had one.

It’s not about the tourists in the hotels, it’s about greedy private owners that rent their apartments out to holidaymakers. Airbnb, booking . Com etc. it’s illegal without a VV. (tax purposes etc) This is taking affordable housing out of the picture altogether for residents. Meanwhile they’re building more hotels, when they aren’t filling the ones we’ve got.
I live on a residential complex and a British woman who has just bought two apartments here is renting them out every 2 weeks. Money straight in her back pocket. It’s wrong.
