  • Verity Africa spent some time with CZcams sensation Cara Titilayo Harshman. Titilayo is a University of Wisconsin journalism student who studies Yoruba. She moved to Ibadan, Nigeria to fully immerse herself in the Yourba culture. When videos of Titilayo speaking fluent authentic Yoruba hit the web, it immediately went viral. Here she is interacting with folks at Lagos market. :)

(what is this?), otiton (i am done), odagbo (goodbye). nice. very nice indeed.

The truth of the matter is that many of us cannot speak or understand the language...

Many pay so much to learn french n other languages... I appreciate that she has learnt mine.

Africans go crazy over little things. They are all so thrilled because a white woman is speaking Yoruba. Come to Germany and see how Africans speak perfect German and no German would feel you have brocken a world record because they expects you to learn and speak German if you want to live in Germany. It shouldn't be something extraordinary for foreigners to learn and speak Africa languages
