Spices and seasonings from the Dollar Tree are things I always look for! Garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasoning, etc. They make such a difference in recipes!

Love this. I visit the dollar store once a week and I have some of this stuff in my kitchen. Sometimes they have a bell pepper mixture, which has great flavor. I was excited to see how well the hash browns hydrated. I bought some of those and I was wondering how well they would turn out.

I love the Margaret Holmes Mixed Veg. It's a pantry staple. When I want a quick bowl of veggie soup, or something quick with cornbread, it comes in handy DT has a good price its 1.40+ at my Walmart

Unfortunately for me I dont shop at the dollar tree for alot of thing's but there are a few things I do stock up on. The bacon for me was a definite no go, 4 slices for $1.25 that is not a good deal in my opinion but hey to each their own! You've got some good ideas and I will definitely look for some of these items from now on. Thanks for the video 👏
I agree! Only 4 slices of bacon is not a good deal. And I've had some unfortunate experiences buying lower quality meats that are cheaper, such as Bar S brand and others. They are not at all healthy either. I'd rather spend a bit more for better quality products whenever possible. And please research Great Value canned soups before buying them. They've been shown to have metal in them, so another product to not buy.

I am a huge fan of lentils and Dollar Tree. A couple of months ago between Dollar Tree and Walmart I spent $40 For our weeks groceries. We did not do without flavor or nutrition. Love all of these recipes.

I just wanted to say thank you Julia!!! I found your videos on CZcams this past week and I started following you. I’m trying to find ways to get groceries on a very tight budget of not much money. I’m a single mom, my daughter is 26 married and lives about 2 hours away, my son is 21 and lives with me still (he does work full time and pays for most of his food). I do live paycheck to paycheck with very high rent in a 2 bedroom apartment. I’m so thankful that I found this video, I did go to dollar tree and found most of the items (the bacon was really good from dollar tree), I made your bacon, pasta with the pepper jack cheese it was really good, I have a lot left over for the rest of the week. I’m going to try all the others also. I have shared your video with my mom, my good friend, and my daughter. I also want to say thank you for doing this, taking your time and making the videos and your cookbook to help us stay on a budget and that we can do it. You and your family are beautiful!! In case no one has ever told you but, Groceries at Dollar Tree comes in smaller sizes, ounces,etc. You can usually get the same type at your regular grocery store for less. Examples are pasta and mashed potatoes. You did get a nice can of the black beans ! The other canned food can be found at regular grocery stores for less than a dollar per can. To me it doesn't make sense to go to Dollar Tree anymore especially since everything is now $1.25 and higher!

I have to say, I like the new style of video. I like that sort of raw footage type of video. Hearing what's going on as you cook kinda makes me feel a little closer to you, and your family. Almost like we're actual friends hanging out.
It's amazing what you were able to create on such an extreme budget. I've done my fair share of grocery shopping at Dollar Tree because I absolutely LOVE that store. It's an amazing place to shop for DIY products, but I also love buying some of my groceries there (especially snack foods) as well. I know that some people rely on Dollar Tree for their groceries because it's all that they can afford, so I love that they are expanding their freezer sections. I've seen a lot of people saying that they refuse to shop there because of the price increase, but let's be honest; you're not going to find a lot of their items any cheaper somewhere else. Yes, it is better to buy SOME things elsewhere, but you simply cannot beat their prices on most things. I recently learned that they will be lowering prices back down to $1 on some items. Not everything, but I think the article said they will be reducing prices on about 300 product's. They have definitely stepped up their game in the last couple of years. I love the plus section as well, and I love that they are starting to offer more name brand items at about the same price point as your larger stores.

I would love to see some videos of easy meals for 1 or 2 people. Been making some of your recipes, and as someone who is not very experienced with making meals, a few of your videos that I've watched over the past month or 2 have turned out some great meals for me and my brother/roommate. 😁
