Sega hire this man
@@ExpressoTheCat well I just thought this comment wouldn’t get popular so I commented because this CZcamsr is my fav and that’s that…
Okay. This video makes me understand frontiers a bit more. Running across Flatlands looks sick.
I don't know if I'm the only one but I love how Sonic runs with his fists closed even without the turbo and even more so that he has the chip bracelet :"D
I'm glad that I'm watching this after the Sonic Frontiers and Sonic Central and I'm glad that IGN confirmed the skill tree cyberspace chaos emeralds etc. Sonic Frontiers is gonna be an awesome game I hope you enjoyed the videos as well
Sometimes it’s nice just to explore around without any obstacles in the way or getting trapped into doing side quests
This looks tight and so does the gameplay
I've been playing this for the past few days, i can safely say that I'll enjoy sonic frontiers
Magnifecent, spetacular and truly gorgeous fangame.
*This Is Interesting!*
I love the free fall mechanic,, it feels like it belongs there.
Sonic Unleashed. Where the level access points are like if those were the size of stages like that would be amazing
oh cool a new frontiers trailer- oh wait nvm this looks just a bit too good
The lighting and sense of Speed are the two things that make this feel more believable as a Sonic Game
(edit: even if it was put together in Unity in a few hours. It's crazy how angry Sonic Fans can get.)
It's literally empty. This is literally what happens if you make a giant random gen map in unity, and male your player move speed like 300 when you press shift and add an fov change
@@yummynubs3646 graphics mean nothing especially when the graphics engine is prebuilt
Awesome
Looks like a nice playground for super sonic speeds.
This game looks like Sonic and the Black Knight if it had Sonic Unleashed's Graphic Budget.
This is basically Ouranos Island without all the floating thingamajigs. Lol
This fan game : empty
People : that's so gooooooood
Frontiers : almost empty
People : could be better ngl
Fan game: made by one person with little to no budget.
People: That’s impressive
Frontiers: made by a multi-billion dollar company
People: How does the fan game look better?
@@younganemoi Like Monthly Gamer said, this was made by one person and Frontiers was mad by a big company , imagine a full team and a real budget for this game. So no they are not speaking facts
Why does this feels more polished than Sonic Frontiers
Seguh hier dis man!!1
Personally, I don't care if this may be better than Frontiers or not. I just like being able to run around in a large, open space even if it is empty.
I remember how sonic frontiers will have a skill tree mechanic. I wonder if sonic’s max speed is gonna be as fast as this
With the amount of people we have commented for Sega to hire, there would be a whole new Sonic Team.
I think i will download this fangame before getting frontiers
Looks better than frontiers does
This honestly looks more fun than frontiers
@@ykgcaramel6515 why there's a greater sense of speed to sonic, physics actually work somewhat as you'd expect, the pop in is much worse than frontiers. the fact that a fangame and a triple a game can even be compared is honestly embarrassing for sonic team
@@thesneakymemedealer5071 Thye can’t be compared though, frontiers has an actual good combat system, fantastic visuals, great controls, and a very smooth gameplay loop
You’re literally just exaggerating at this point and Sonic games don’t need fucking sonic utopia physics to be good
@@ykgcaramel6515 "good combat system,"

"great controls,"
it barely looks smoother than forces
"and a very smooth gameplay loop"
the game looked over all empty and shit like the climbing and puzzles look like they're going to be boring. why are so many people defending sonic team anyways have you people learned nothing from the past nearly 20 years of this franchise's quality control?
@@thesneakymemedealer5071 honestly just shut the fuck up, this game controls amazingly and you can see it in the footage, he turns great, his jumps the right hight and you can actually move it unlike forces. You’re just complaining for the sake of complaining at this point.
It looks nothing like Elden ring no idea where that came from and the visuals are fantastic
Literally just take one look at the world and zoom in and you’ll find so many different locations and things to do in the background lol
Sounds like you watched the fucking world premiere gameplay and moved on
If THIS was Sonic Frontiers I'd be happy, but we get Cyberspace levels as well ☺
Sonic frontiers gameplay looks amazing
You can run on water. Frontiers took that out :(
Alternate video name: 'How Sonic Frontiers should've looked'
Nope, i like the frontiers lightning more than this impressive fan game, i don't trash works like these but frontiers far superior with those graphics, you can throw me hate from what i'm saying but remember, this fangame is so impressive but it could be more if it has more unique design in the open world
The graphics are better in Frontiers...but this game works much better. xD
we dont know how it looks, IGN showed early build version of the game
This looks way worse than frontiers and frontiers looks pretty good although I guess this comment is kinda outdated now
I wonder how long it'll take to reach the end of the map to the other end, and I wonder if there's a hyper speed mod
While I dislike the lack play in this game , it does bring up an interesting point.
What do you really DO with Sonic?
Every time I think about it , all of his actions exist in short bursts.
This explains a lot.
I'd love to make a Sonic fangame someday, though I'm a long ways away. But to me Sonic has always been about repetition and flow. His sense of speed doesn't just come from how fast the engine will let him move but from how well a player does. The better they play, the longer they stay at top speed and get that dopamine rush that tells them they're awesome, haha! But for a player to get into that flow state they need to learn the layout of a stage. So the stages need to be fun and engaging so that it's still enjoyable on repeat playthroughs. Essentially Sonic is all about getting to the goal as fast as possible through skill and knowledge but with fun set pieces along the way.
I had a lot more to say but for once I realised this comment is long enough as is. XD
@@ArtzyZero I see what you are getting at , it's the original inspiration for Sonic as a concept , race to the finish.
But I grew up playing those original games and getting the opposite idea.
You got horrible high score if relied solely on bonus points from speed.
And a lot of the time , you wouldn't get the Chaos Emeralds or Time Stones if you didn't slow down and get more rings.
For me , it was about taking your time and enjoying the levels set piece by set piece .
Delighting in the visual variety and interacting with one fascinating piece after another.
Absorbing each level gradually , and gaining an understanding of that world.
@@self-absorbed5269 Oh absolutely! I did mention set pieces, for example the whale chase in SA1's Emerald Coast. It serves no other purpose other than spectacle, something to make you go "Woah!". You'll have to forgive me for being unable to pick any examples from the 2D games off the top of my head, I admittedly don't really find them interesting so I've only played bits and pieces. ^-^'
But the idea of exploration is another reason I think open levels work well, a player could focus on finding the most efficient route to the goal, which is still a form of exploration or stop by a waterfall and find a little cave that just leads to a reward and then stop by a cliff edge and notice there's a silly little robot beach party going on in the background. The more open levels are better at accommodating different playstyles. It's why I feel Sonic Forces is so bland, while there are optional paths they're usually in 2D and are rather short, as the stages themselves are too. So the 'hidden' route you've taken never feels special. The very first stage is a perfect example, as towards the end you can stray off the obvious path but control is pretty much taken from you as you can really only boost as Sonic runs around a bridge and then across a sand waterfall before arriving at the goal. It's not much but you have more control of Sonic just going the normal way. :/
I'd cut it out of my original comment but it's why I love hub worlds, even Sonic 06's. I love having a playground to mess around in with no consequences, letting me learn the game at my own pace. I love SA1's hub worlds but I think Unleashed did it best, where outside of story progression you can ignore the hub worlds and the levels are all in one place, along with upgrade tutorials.
(Ah, dang it this comment looks long again. Sorry! ^-^')
@@ArtzyZero Wait , alternate paths that lead to areas?
So the platformer version of Starfox?
. . . . . THAT'S IT!!
And if you want to know about interactive set pieces in 2D Sonic , go for S&K.
It's practically PACKED with set pieces.
What was that first song playing in the video? I need that remix.
its good, but its also the exact definition of 'dead space'. No matter how much Frontiers was being hated, it barely had dead space. The only thing this man needs to do is add just like a random rail, a bit of platforming, higher terrain and boom, done.
this is sonic frontiers
This is how sonic should control in frontiers
This looks incredible, almost on par with frontiers. Sega really better pull their finger out with tweaking it before it comes out.
@@GBAT3n if I can play it on a console it will be, can’t play any decent fan games on my Mac :(
Does seem fun to explore through, although I wish there was at least some level design elements sprinkled throughout the world like in frontiers instead of just random groups of enemies and some Chaos Emeralds. Furthermore, I feel like Infinity Plus Engine would be better for a Frontiers-style game like this because of its extended combat and slightly better boosting. Despite all this, I'm still hyped for Frontiers and this makes me even more hyped.
Can Somebody help because if i try and run fully sonic just runs slowly not like with his fists
voice clips seem out of place while the music kinda doesnt, however i feel at this point fans are just making games to climb on the frontiers hype train, though this is a start
Nice, but I prefer the Adventure engine, I dislike tank controls Sonic.
They should've put infinite boost for this game
I think it’s actually insane that this looks better than Frontiers. Give it up Sega
@@jalengholson8595 Bro the animations look better. The model looks better. The graphics look better. The speed AND physics ARE better (Infinity Engine puts Sega’s rinky dink Hedgehog Engine 2 to shame). And it was done by some joe shmoe, not a multi-billion dollar company. If this guy announced he was legit making a game I’d be more excited for this than Frontiers.
@Welp *Havok Engine. 😒
Even if it IS the case that he slapped some assets together, Frontiers doesn’t look like anything special. And I mean exactly what I said. If this was just an early demo of a guaranteed full game I’d be more excited because fundamentally Sonic is fun to control in Infinity Engine. Forces Sonic (which Frontiers Sonic is based on) isn’t fun to control.
@@spaghettiguy3205 I’m just attracting Frontiers simps lol. Look at all the other comments. My comment isn’t far fetched.
how to download?
I wouldn't technically call this an actual "Open Zone", but the concept and execution here seems interesting. I might just be saying this only because this actually feels more satisfying to play than Frontiers in terms of running around open vast valleys and hills.
@Sonic Overtime I got all the Chaos Emeralds how do I turn into super sonic?
Se ve muy bien han querido que se parezca tanto a frontiers que hasta tiene el mismo popping tan descarado jajaja
The amount of copium in these comments is unreal. This game looks way better than Frontiers, it's mind blowing how many people think that it doesn't. This game looks better and theres basically NOTHING in it but a proof on concept. Frontiers Sonic has zero momentum and movement looks clunky compared to this. The animation work here is pretty amazing, all the subtle movements while airborne and landing, as well Super Sonic's sprint transitioning to flight.
Génial
Why does this look a million times better than frontiers
Keyword: *look*. Because this does NOTHING interesting gameplay wise. It’s literally just a map with a few enemies, all the cool stuff comes with the engine.
its good but i cant use the boost and i move slow
Can anyone confirm if this is or any other fan sonic game is playable on a Mac?
how do i get that game
How does it feel to make a better open world sonic game demo than the official sonic team?
Straight up fronteirs gameplay
Looks pretty good buts it’s kinda empty
*Is there a Jason Griffith voice version?*
You can't run on water in Sonic frontiers but you can run on water in this?..........
the fact on the game it says frontiers
Wow Popping like sonic Frontiers? Cool!
What frontiers should've been
The world looks very nice but infinity engine is not my favourite
Sonic frontiers be like, I like this map

It's Sonic omans engine
Didn’t know you got that Frontiers game already.
I'll admit that this makes me want to buy Sonic Frontiers.
This isn’t Sonic Frontiers, with the right amount of work I bet it could be 10 times better like some other Sonic fan games out there. A world where the fans make better games than the company is a pretty funny world, but it’s mostly true.

Why is it that the fan games always look more interesting than the actual games 💀💀💀
Animations are better than frontiers lol
@@Speedy_Hedgehog that doesn't give sega a criticism pass. All they gotta do is show that when they said it was an early build, they meant it.
How is this better than frontiers SMH
At least Sonic can ramp off hills like he could in Adventure. That alone make this have a better chance at being good than Frontiers. It's not. Too empty. Too little to do. No challenge. I like the biomes though. One aspect where both Frontiers and this are on par is the art direction. Both are just as bland, forgettable and boring looking. I'll give credit where it's due though. It's likely this was made by one individual and not meant to be any more that a test. For that I will let it slide.
This fangame looks great but frontiers is in another level of graphics, yeah it's too empty but that is because we saw an early build aside from the newest build but this type of showcasing earliers builds it's more normal nowadays, some games like watch dogs showcased an earlier build and that build is far more impressive than the final game, the reason why that game was heavily downgraded is because of the newest generation consoles of that time were watch dogs was in development, and in the cases like mario oddysey is that earliers trailers and gameplay is less detailed than in the final build because it looke fine but miyamoto upgraded it for presentation and quality for this game so what i saying can be the same but it can be changed from what we saw in the future. Before you throw me hate, it's just an opinion and why showcasing earlier builds is normal nowadays, your opinion is your opinion and you are the only one you can change your opinion if that tittle convinces you (sorry for bad english)
@@kitty2135PLUS I don't like the foundation Frontiers appears to be made on. I don't like being one of those pretentious Classic Sonic fans but I know my preferences. I've never liked a single Sonic game where physics doesn't play a major part. I don't like Heroes, Shadow, Black Knight, or any 3D Sonic game since Adventure 2. The only other games I liked were the handhelds but that's mostly because I grew up almost entirely on the Nintendo DS. Early build or not, the foundations are clear. You can see the bland art design, the lacking level design, the ill fitted boost gimmick, the stock generic soundtrack; these are all things that are here to stay and that's because right now Sonic Team is likely in the bug fixing stage of development. I know these problems will not be fixed because they never were in any of the past games. Colors Ultimate's terrible lighting and music, Forces's terrible art direction and stale level design, Lost World's blatant copy of Mario Galaxy's main gimmick and look; these were all things that were left unfixed because by the time each game is showcased, these traits are baked into the final vision. They're essential. Developers don't publicly showcase early builds that aren't identical to what the final game will be like. Sure there may be some collision and bug issues here and there but for the most part, the general picture remains the same and I don't like the picture I see from the Frontiers showcase. But this seems to be up your alley and I apologize if my rant has discouraged you. Like you said before, I'm just speaking my preferences and concerns. My opinion, if you will. It just bothers me that Sonic Team doesn't even want to try to make a 3D Sonic game even remotely like the ones I've grown to appreciate and if this game ends up critically successful, it's likely they never will. Like Izuka said, if this game is successful, it will define Sonic's direction for the rest of the decade meaning I'll probably not have a chance to experience a new 3D game in the series I genuinely like till I'm 30. By then, I'll hopefully have moved on only spectating from the sidelines.
Second oh wait first
What sonic frontiers' moveset is supposed to be:
ayo who else here rn because they can't afford frontiers
more like fron tired of live imma right ?? ha ha ha a aaa
The boost here is incredibly annoying. Aside from that, the movement systems looks more fun to play than Sonic Frontiers, at least from the gameplay we've seen thus far.
Fsssss
God its so empty... just like Frontiers!!!!
What a boring and uninspired open world. I can't see myself enjoying something like this, where the terrain is hardly more than randomly-generated and fails to be tailored properly for Sonic.
Besides, the creator of this "game" just made a map port to an engine that was already finished. It's like an hour of work at *most.*
sonic frontier is dogs**t compared to this.
Yeah, sure. Buddy. Make sure you won't eat your own words when the official game comes out.
People need to stop giving sega a pass just cause its sega. Sonic simps are the reason why the games are so bad nowadays. cause Sonic team gets lazy and the fans let them. Theres no effort to rise above the bare minimum with recent projects
I spent 40 minutes looking for the 7 emeralds all by myself, just to end up with only 1 ring so I couldn't even turn into Super Sonic. 🥲 They should at least add more rings and make them respawn time to time
The developer said it was just a test version to see some feedback he said a V2 will be coming soon, you can also tell him what needs to be improved. Anyway i had the same problem 😂
this is sonic frontiers
Even if it's pretty empty, it's fun to run around and explore the biomes. If I have fun with this, I'm sure I'll enjoy Frontiers alot as well. xD
@AK0MA2 I actually like alot in it, haven't been this excited for a game since Sonic 06. That being said, it could be so much better if they added some form of Momentum. Not saying needs a ton of momentum, but just a small amount would make things so much more fun!
@@sonicovertime even Sonic 06 had the potential to get better but instead, SEGA decided to stay on such a failure. Sonic Frontiers has the potential to be a good game. Awnser at its release.
wait, game's made by a French developper ? Lessss goo !
@AK0MA2 don't say "no actual reason" mate. There's plenty of reason why I think Sonic Frontiers looks bad. That doesn't mean it won't be enjoyable. Bad games can be enjoyable, just like good games are boring as fuck. With good or bad for a Sonic game we simply mean: does it fit a standard that is acceptable for Sonic, and what has been shown off from Frontiers, it just doesn't. Lackluster graphics, horrible pop-in issues, awful looking slow physics, world design is ugly with random floating bumpers and springs and rails. Even though it's open world there's still a huge ton of automation in the game basically nullifying the idea of it being open world, the enemy design looks like rejects from Horizon Zero Dawn and the way you battle them a worse version of Shadow of the Colossus for the bigger ones, the world looking realistic while Sonic looks cartoony which just pulls you out of the experience. I could go on.
The ONLY thing I liked from the little preview in yesterday's Sonic Central was the boss that created a path for Sonic to run on. I didn't like the design of the boss, but the idea behind it is cool.
@@blinkachu5275lack luster graphics? Do you even know what you’re saying
