    If Aiyuk is taking it this far and really wants to play with Jayden, you have to assume he’s gonna sit training camp and maybe even threaten to not play and hopefully it’ll drop the trade value. I think we just gotta sit. Worst case we wait a year. Give up nothing. Gotta think we’re Aiyuks first choice and we got more flex with the cap situation

    Players have a ton of pull these days even in the middle of their contracts. If Aiyuk tells 49ers he's trying to get out they might make it happen. There is is a chance. He would probably have to take a paycut to play with Daniels also. If it can happen, Adam Peters will do his best to get it done. So nice to finally have a good GM.

    If we don’t get him this year, we may have a chance to get him next year. If JD5 hits and gets us to the playoffs, Adam Peters should pull that trigger next offseason to get him or we could just draft another WR. 49ers are in win now mode, they have All Pro players that they can’t pay plus Purdy is getting an extension and they probably asking for a lot to trade for him. Would’ve been nice for JD5 to have another weapon at WR, just like Chicago has surrounded Caleb Williams with elite weapons

      The consensus seems to be that Dotson isn't the guy and to get someone else, give guy a chance to break out a little bit. I still think Luke will overtake him, worst case scenario draft a #3 receiver after that. We need OL round 1 next season no questions asked. The best teams only pay one WR top end money, if that. He's not supplanting Terry.

    It amazes me how so many Washington fans love eye candy in a WR but always want to overlook the OL. Aiyuk is a very good WR and I don't think the Niners regardless of what Schefter reported would trade him for future draft picks when they are in a position to win the Super Bowl. If the Niners would trade him they would want a young veteran on a rookie contract in exchange like Dotson and a third day pick.

All it does is piss off our WR room and divide the fanbase for a guy who'd be the slowest receiver on the roster with a subpar OL and a rookie qb lol. Terry=4.3, Aiyuk=4.5, slow guys don't fit this offense, Aiyuk is only 6'0 running a 4.5... He would regress immediately. Luke can play like Deebo, Terry is going to be better than Aiyuk with a better qb/OC combo, people need to trust in the "Build through the draft, supplement through free agency," mantra that AP lives by. We need to allocate all of that cap money to OL so it improves the run game and buys pocket time.

    I can't think of a worse idea than getting Aiyuk and making the Luke McCaffrey draft absolutely pointless. Luke is 6'2 4.4 40, Aiyuk is only 6'0 and a slow 4.5 40. He's not big, he's not fast, he gets open cause of Shanahan's system with Deebo Kittle and McCaffrey. Why would we NOT bank on the draft when we got Adam Peters? We might not even need to draft a receiver high up next season, but getting Aiyuk robs all upside of this receiving room to have a break out season. I'm not sure if I'd want him even if he was a free agency cause it prevents paying top tier money for Terry. 1 WR and 1 OL need to be the top paid for the best offenses... The Chiefs and the Lions never paid more than 1 at a time... I choose 4.3 40 Terry to break out, Aiyuk can get out of the way, he's just an obstacle and a drama queen at this point. Aiyuk is annoying with this situation, "Taking it personal". I don't want him. He knows they're pressed for cap space. There's better receiver upside on this team already, Aiyuk would take a step back in any offense not ran by Shanahan cause it can support slower receivers, most cannot. He'd be a better fit on the Rams to replace Kupp, because Puka is also slow. Air Raid needs speed. Luke was drafted to be the big body receiver. Aiyuk really doesn't add anything cause he seems like a blight on the lockerroom at this point, he's full of himself. The last thing i want is another buddy buddy off the field distraction with the young qb. The sooner this Aiyuk chapter is closed the better, they just have nothing to talk about right now because it's the offseason. Aiyuk is childish at this point, would be a landmine signing. I always saw Aiyuk as fringe Wr2/WR1 in the first place because he's slow and needs a great scheme to get open... He's coming from a perfect scenario in SF, he's not ever going to play better anywhere else or in any other system. Aiyuk's just trying to strong arm his way into getting what he wants and I hope both teams realize it's not worth it. SF is trying to upgrade from him and steal Terry. Keyword upgrade. That's why he says he's not wanted cause he's never going to get any faster and it takes too long for plays to develop with him. If it wasn't for his supporting cast, he wouldn't be where he is today, needs to realize that. Meanwhile Terry has dealt with every kind of obstacle imaginable. Not even a question who's better in my mind, Aiyuk isn't burning 50/50 balls on the best cornerbacks in the league while getting double teamed like Terry. Getting both makes no sense with the dire needs at OL going into the foreseeable future.
    Aiyuk is too slow to really help Terry lol, might as well just rely on the TE position and Luke to do that (who's much faster). 1 second 40 difference is a whole 2+ steps behind. Aiyuk isn't really helping anyone else get open at his speed. Idk why people think he could keep up or benefit this Kingsbury led offense at cost, even in FA, let alone a trade. AP was smart to avoid this. If it was going to happen, it would have happened pre-draft, AP is from the 49ers. Clearly they're stuck with him or they're going to let him hit FA next season, draft someone faster, and win a SB cause he's not necessary for their offense to run whatsoever, that's why he's expendable. 49'ers fans see Terry as an upgrade. Terry is not expendable, wouldn't even be WAS without him. The whole league sees Terry's value, he's only signed until 2026. By then, he'll need an even bigger contract. It's better to have flexibility and assess what would help next season. But if Aiyuk and Terry were on the same team - Terry would still get doubled and Aiyuk would be the beneficiary cause a LB can keep up with him lol. Luke is going to do more to help than the fanbase realizes yet, he's going to ascend quickly. Luke will charge down the field to make a block for Terry, Aiyuk isn't even fast or unselfish enough to do that. Watch Luke film again and tell me he doesn't have WR1 upside eventually, I think his floor is closer to WR2/3 than anything. Pushing him down to WR4 is unfathomable to me before he even gets a chance to develop. His only knock is he's raw on route running and Terry and Ertz have been showing him the ropes already and he's training with CMC right now. It doesn't get any higher upside than Luke, especially at pick 100. Luke led this draft class in contested catches. That's how you win, building in the draft. Luke fits WAS's style of play, we all love those 50/50 catches. The only other player I really felt similarly about was McMillan (because he was stuck behind great WR's similar to Terry in college) and he was drafted right before him - but I think Luke's upside might be higher. Luke is going to do best learning behind Terry and he's a true team player. Ed McCaffrey was essential to the Broncos, I think Luke will be even better and somewhere between his dad and CMC with room to grow.
    Aiyuk would be a Dan Snyder signing if there ever was. Right now fans are just bored and want to play dynasty cause we got draft capital, but if we got him, it'd be all gone and lose all advantage. I bet the fans who want him the most spend all their tax money as soon as they get it, he's just flavor of the month right now and not much is going on around the league so he's gotten otherwise unwarranted attention. You can't cover anything mid season if you have no real wiggle room, especially in a major rebuild - but this is all going towards next offseason cause the cap space rolls over. All it takes is one injury to mess everything up. Signing Aiyuk would be like driving down the highway full speed with no car insurance. There is zero reason to rush because the 49'ers can't afford him without some Jerry Jones cap magic, can cross that bridge next season if Luke doesn't break out. But once he does, no one is going to care about Aiyuk anymore - we'll all be calling for OL. If he doesn't, then we have options. But we'll never know without just running it this season.

      @raymondsmith2040 Před 4 dny

      Personally I'd wait till he hits FA but honestly I'd ship Jahan and a 2nd for Aiyuk right now. Terry's contract expires after next season so you'd probably be looking to draft another WR next off season anyway depending on how good Luke is.

      @maskcollector6949 Před 4 dny

      @@raymondsmith2040 We're not moving off of Terry if that's what you're implying, he's been held back by his situation this whole time and it leaves room for Luke to take over #2 and/or Dotson to resurge. I think they'll compete for WR2 this season. We'll be drafting for WR2/3 next season and re-sign Terry at this rate cause I don't think Aiyuk really brings anything crazy to the table at his price when we could just sign a top tier OL instead and take a WR to fit in nicely at a lower price point. That leaves us flexibility to trade/acquire players to cover for injuries. When's the last time our starting OL finished the season? Like never?

    This will never happen. San Fran is only like 4 million away a year right now, they will work things out. They are superbowl caliber, they aren't going to trade their best w/r in the years they have a chance to win a trophy. They will simply franchise him if they can't come to an agreement, which is still lower then where he wants to be and what they offered him thus far. If for that chance in hell San fran is willing to deal him we would have to give up our 2nd next year, and probably dotson. I would still do that trade in a heartbeat, but I don't see San Fran doing anything, unless he says he is not willing to play this year under any circumstances and forces San Fran to trade him, which he will not do.

    This will be the first true test of AP as GM. If he gets fleeced by Frisco for Aiyuk, then we will know his true value to the team. I have said this several times and I'm going to say it again -- SF gets a 3rd and a 5th. Nothing more. They gave WAS a 3rd and a 5th for Trent Williams, and he is elite.
    No players, no 6th round pick, no nothing.

    • @obitronshinobi8163
      @obitronshinobi8163 Před 4 dny

      @raymondsmith2040 I respectfully disagree. There are a lot of factors that go into these trade deals, and two big factors are perceived player value vs. player happiness. In other words, you take the 3rd and the 5th for Williams because his happiness level was very low, and everyone knew it. He wasn't going to play in Washington, and that lowered his perceived trade value, and the 9ers used Trents very public unhappiness to leverage a better deal.
      Aiyuk hasn't come out and demanded a trade, but it is becoming increasingly more obvious that the 9ers aren't exactly dying to pay him, and that's all the leverage AP needs. Take the 3rd and the 5th and receive something for the player along with the cap space savings while avoiding a potential holdout etc.
      Or not.. And Aiyuk can cause SF all the headaches he can cause them this year, and we'll keep our 3rd and 5th round picks and sign him next year if McLaurin, Dotson, McCaffrey etc. don't have adequate production.
