Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 | TOO GOOD for CURRENT MCU!

- Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 has been released and it is the first movie in the MCU since Avengers Endgame that is REALLY GOOD! Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 DEFINITELY has its problems and is not great, but it is SO MUCH BETTER than the rest of the movies and Streaming Shows that have been releasing from the Marvel Cinematic Universe and is way better than Phases 4 and 5 of the MCU COMBINED!
Watch my review of James Gunn's Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 and see just HOW it is better than the recent MCU projects from Kevin Feige.

Don't forget to give the video a thumbs up guys as it really helps and gets CZcams's algorithm to promote the video and increase its reach. Thanks!!
Ops I disliked shit
As someone who thought the first two Guardians Movies were very well made. Guardians 3 I felt like it was the best outta of all of them and a big send off to these characters I grew to love for many years.
Thank you James Gun for Bringing these characters to the big screen and giving the team a proper and emotional send off!!!!!!!!
James Gunn has honestly become one of my directors. He just gets better with each content. Guardians Vol 3 just gets better with each watch. That flashback scene with how Rocket escapes the High Evolutionary might just be my favorite moment from anything to come from the MCU. I can’t even begin to express how excited I am to see what he has in store for DC.
This one movie absolutely blows away the entirety of Marvel Phase 4 and possibly the rest of Phase 5 and I couldn’t be prouder of James Gunn for making his vision come true and I can’t wait to see more of his work. Thank you so much for your review and feedback as always! ❤️
When I leave the threatre, I knew Eric is gonna liked it. When everyone comes in a Guardians movie expecting to laugh, we get some serious emotional, dark stuffs with not much humor that you'd expect. But the writing is also actually quite solid and well refined. After watching this, I'm more hyped for the future of DCEU under James Gunn's direction than MCU which seems to be losing direction since phase 4.
It’s been 15 years, but Marvel FINALLY allowed one of their films to have the F-bomb in it.
Now that Marvel made it possible, I hope Samuel L. Jackson gets to drop his *signature catchphrase* in a future MCU film.
I don't think his famous catchphrase is PG13 material. Motherf----- is not the same as f--k.
I don’t think a movie like GOTG 3 will ever make me feel happy, excited, and cry like a baby ever again. I’m so glad to have grown up with these characters since 2014 and 9 years later it is the most beautiful send off for every character. Thank you James wish you luck in DC. Amazing review to Eric so glad you liked the movie
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 and Werewolf by Night are proof that Directors should be given full control to tell their creative stories and not get ruined by studio interference!
Year seriously, I never understand why studios feel the need to interfere. If marvel want their vision across Kevin Feige may as well just direct all the movies rather than interfering with the directors visions
It’s got it’s flaws, but it has been a LONG time since an MCU movie made me feel strong emotions, both through the strength of its story, and through the strength of its themes.
Also, I really liked the idea that James Gunn did with The High Evolutionary in that his arc is set up as a constant downward spiral towards madness due to the inflation of a god complex. He’s no Thanos, but even while being static, the High Evolutionary is by no means flat.
Personally, this felt like James Gunn’s modern swan song, and his proper goodbye to Marvel, if this is his last Guardians movie. Granted, the post credits scene still eludes to Quill still being around, so idk.
Verdict: 8.5/10. My personal favorite Guardians movie.
Spoiler warning
I swear that scene when the high evolutionary shot lylla and the way rocket let out a bloodcurdling scream of pain while floor was shouting “Rocket Teeth’s, Floor go now” will be in my mind forever, And when rocket jumped on him and started ripping his face off was brutal as hell. Then when rocket turns around he sees his friends dead is just heartbreaking.
Yeah I don't get why he says they needed to go further. That scene was _brutal_
@@user-xy3ee8bw6j Not with that. Further with regards to what Rocket went through that Nebula said it's worse than what Thanos did to her. I thought they could have made their point stronger with that.
Yeah I was in shock and that scene brought me to tears
@@EricCarter12 is the vid spoiler I want to watch it but im seeing it on Sunday 😢😢😢
@@BNE20s Spoiler free buddy!
I gotta say. I REALLY hope Chukwudi Iwuji gets more work after this movie. He was fantastic as the High Evolutionary and as Clemson Murn in Peacemaker.
Fun fact James Gunn actually understands superman way more than zack snyder
I truly loved Henry Cavill as Superman like he looks *EXACTLY* like the comic version and as a person he even acts like him....
But you're right Snyder changed Superman into something he was not...someone way to dark and Superman wouldn't ever turn into that
Though I got to admit his portrayal of flight for the Kryptonians was pretty good
😂😂😂
Fun fact I didn’t ask
@@sarathomas8499 I waould say that snyders superman better fits like an injustice storyline
SPOILERS!
6:53 Nothing in Toy Story was as dark as the scene where Rocket tries to free the other animals but then they get shot but the High Evolutionary and his minions. That shit was _brutal_ and (no kidding) one of the darkest scenes in a CBM in general.
By that I was referring to the experiments that were done to the animals. The rabbit with the spider legs in particular reminded me of Sid's toys in Toy Story.
I really hope Marvel takes notes from this movie. Don’t be afraid of showing more violence on screen and allow more heart to be shown.
Oh, and allow more practical effects. An Asguardian helmet is NOT a nanotech suit.
LOL
While you didn’t like H.E. as much, I definitely enjoyed him more as a straight-up villain. His god complex as well as his perfection obsession with no redeeming qualities is something I’ve severely missed.:
Villains not being sympathetic (Wanda, Namor, Gorr) or heroic (Kang)
Guardians of the Galaxy 3 makes the entirety of the MCU Phase 4 & Quantumania look like the old DCEU in comparison.
Im with you. I didnt love the 2 movies, and had no expectations to see it. I skipped Thor 4 and Antman 3. But i saw this movie with my little brother with low expectations and wow... i loved this and cried 2 times
For those who don't know, Adam Warlock's personality is normally akin to that of MCU's version of Vision. It's only his first movie, but if he isn't turning all Byronic and introspective by his second appearance, there will be problems.
Yeah I agree about the rating thing, most MCU films feel like they could get a PG rating, especially the first avengers film. Though funny thing, with you describing how the animal abuse isn’t a gruesome as people make it out to be, maybe makes a point on how tame the previous MCU films really are! (Note that I haven’t seen the film yet, but I doubt it’s like Schindler’s list in space like one person said).
Wow! That was fast. I thought you would be doing a Vs video with all 3 gotg movies and it would take about a 2 weeks. But apparently it only took 2 days. Great video 💪💪
Quill may be the POV character in these films but Rocket is the primary protagonist. Top tier film from beginning to end and a perfect end to the best trilogy in the MCU for me
Great movie 8/10
Great movie 10/10

I allways love your vids eric
I really appreciate how when Guardians 1 came out the mcu was really talking itself too seriously and James gun took it as an opportunity to make something more silly and playful but now that the MCU is seemingly all jokes and no substance he went deep into the seriousness/darkness. The mcu will miss you James Gunn, the only person who gives us what we need.
I really enjoyed this movie probably my favourite Guardians of the Galaxy movie. I missed half of the opening because I showed up a little late in theatre.
8:44 I like how you include the Ben 10 Vilgax Attacks Theme. It surprised me when I heard it.
8:03 no thank you. Being the head TWO studios would probably be too overwhelming for one guy. As much as I like James Gunn, I don’t think he can simultaneously run two separate film studios.
This was the tone and feel Thor: Love and Thunder hoped it was...
Eric, if you can pls make a vs between ZSJL and Infinity war as I would thoroughly enjoy such a video. Also, is your Avatar vs video in the making?
It feels like all the budget went towards this movie
Do you like how it didn’t didn’t forcefully make Peter and Gamora fall in love again and instead have him accept that this is a different version?
Good take
Yea, I think the movie executed that very well too
Just came back from seeing this film and I’m so glad I’ve seen it. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 was a really fun yet emotional roller coaster. A good way to end the trilogy. I give a 9/10.
I thought it was the best one out of all three, a proper send off to the _Guardians_ . I'm honestly shocked it's getting mixed reviews.
Eric carter your the best man I really love your videos♥️
James Gunn is only Director
To make Decent Movie looks so Good in Best way as Possible
This movie had the ending I didn’t want but it was the ending we needed because of how mature it was. This movie is a 10/10 for me.
Also this movie has officially made me hate the song “No sleep till Brooklyn”.
The current state of the MCU may not be great, but on the bright side, when we get a good MCU movie nowadays, it's very refreshing, isn't it?
I haven’t seen you this positive on a MCU project since Hawkeye. I’m not sure if you changed your mind on that show.
My thoughts on that show are pretty much the same. Although Kingpin seems to get worse and worse the more I think about him.
Especially with the way he got defeated in such a Disney Channel kind of way. There was no grit or stakes, Kate Bishop just took him out with ease.
Hi Eric another great video. I would really you to do a comparison between Puss in Boots 2011 v Puss in Boots The Last Wish
So is your top 5 MCU movies now
1. Winter Soldier
2. Infinity War
3. Endgame
4. Civil War
5. Guardians of the Galaxy 3
Hey Eric. Will you be watching Fast X? I am super excited but also a bit nervous based on some of the early reviews. And I HATED F9 so I hope it’s MUCH better than that movie.
People saying this movie is way too violent holds about as much water as people saying Joker will have a negative impact on society.
Guardians of galaxy 1 vs guardians of galaxy 2 vs guardians of galaxy 3 eric if it's possible it will ve a fun versus video
Okay, I have a glint of hope for Superman Legacy....
As Superman is the OG character for me and I was a bit concerned that Gunn was taking over.
Can u make a comparison between the Hook movie to Peter Pan and Wendy? Which of the live-action Peter Pan is better?
0:44 You forgot to include Black Panther: Wakanda Forever between Thor: Love and Thunder and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.
I remember people saying they wanted they're movies darker back in the day and Hollywood thought they meant by lighting and not thematic or tones of a movie
9/10 in my opinion the best out of the three
Could you do Guardians Vol 3 vs either Endgame or The Suicide Squad?
Do you got planned to do a video on Spider-Man across the spider-verse when that comes out.
Knowing his other Verses videos I bet he will
Ok ill see it
The movie sounds like it has secret of nihm vibes, what with all the animal testing and darkness with cute critters.
Here’s an idea for a superhero versus battle: Avengers: Endgame vs X-men: Days of future past.
Hey Eric, have you seen Sonic the Hedgehog 2 yet? If yes, what are your thoughts on it?
Bro really said he could not care less about the previous two movies. Those are good
Eric, which movie are you going to compare this movie to?
If your not a Guardians fan, “I’m coming after you” -Walter White
The villain was bad” your kidding right
He’s the only one I heard say dat
I got to say I loved guardians 3 it’s definitely my favourite of the 3 especially with its story and cinematography.
The music I really liked especially no sleep till Brooklyn during the hallway fight scene just an amazing sequence.
Adam Warlock was definitely a let down felt completely pointless but Gunn had to put him I suppose kind off like he had to with Thanos in vol 1 if that’s what happened.
I look forward to Gunns superman legacy even though I didn’t like the way Cavill was treated im up for a new beginning for the DCU hopefully it ends up being where marvel where a view years back.
Eric can you make all guardians movie versus video
Eric: The songs in this movie really weighed it down
Me: It's a Guardians movie. What would you expect.
About time they got it right
Infinity War also did darker storyline very well, especially anything involving Thanos and Gamora.
Hey, Eric! I remember you saying that Blumhouse is a studio that you like a lot (or something like that). Have you seen the latest teaser for the Five Nights At Freddy's movie? What are your thoughts if I may ask?
I haven't seen the trailer yet. I'll see if I do a Patreon reaction of it.
This movie was fantastic and honesly might be the best MCU movie since Endgame. Although I have to say, I felt the pop songs worked really well in the movie and elevated many scenes, especially the scene where the guardians get their bad ass walk.
Hey Eric have you seen your Patreon, it actually going down to 46 patreon.
Honestly, I consider this Guardians of the Galaxy’s Endgame, although I will admit, oh and spoiler alert for those who have yet to see it.
I was surprised yet also relived that the characters made it out okay in the end.
After watching GOTG 3 ❤️🤯
I am more excited about James Gunn DC
"A surprise to be sure but a welcome one"
I'm so happy that I enjoyed this one as someone who has been watching the MCU for nearly 10 years their latest movies and shows have really dissapointed me
And I was actually going to give up on Marvel unless this movie was good
And well its definitely a 8.5/10
Hey Eric I Was Wondering Out Of all Of The DCEU Upcoming Movies Which One are You Most Excited For
The Flash without a doubt. Mainly because of Michael Keaton coming back as Batman!
@@EricCarter12 Same As Me Although I Am Interested in the swamp thing horror movie
As much as I hate to admit it, perhaps James Gunn is the only man on the planet (apart from the Russos too maybe) who has been able to blaance both the frivolity and solemness of the MCU better than most people hired by Kevin Feige have. Perhaps it may boast my confidence in JG's running of DC Studios. Perhaps not.
All in all, GOTG3 just may be the start of a comeback for the MCU at best or just another diamond in the rough at worst. I give my prayers to the former and I brace myself for the latter.
5:07. Are you referring to Drax?
Hey Eric carter I have a question have you watch dungeon and dragon if yes what your opinion?
No I haven't seen it yet. What did you think of it?
@@EricCarter12 it’s a really good movie and much like Guardians 3 it has a lot of heart and balances the drama and comedy well, it’s a damn shame that the woke marketing, all of the controversy surrounding WOTC and the bad release schedule really hurt the movie at the box office
@@EricCarter12 also have you seen Evil Dead Rise yet?
@@zillauniverse7208 Yes I have. I thought it was ok.
i believe James Gunn can bring a light to the DC EU
He said the music wasn’t good in this that’s crazy, like James knows his music like from Creep in the beginning of rocket wondering where he belong, to No Sleep To Brooklyn aka one last show until they can go home and than I cried to Dogs Days Are Over to them moving on from the trauma and dancing and loving each it was perfect music
The music I'm referring to is the score for the movie. Not the songs.
I will say, Guardian Volume 2 is still my favorite. What makes it my favorite js even though the characters are separated they still have their own side plots going on and it doesn’t feel out of nowhere when we cut away.
Guardians Volume 3 I will say is a solid conclusion but the fake out death did take me out of the mood.
The reviews aren't _that_ mixed. An 81% is still great
Hey Eric if you enjoy this movie as well as Spider-man PS4 I high recommend checking out the Guardians of The Galaxy video game as very much like this movie as it very well balances the comedy with Drama and even some of the characters like Draxx is treated a lot better and is like how he is in the comics instead of being a complete idiot like how he is in the movies.
How did this happen?
"Finally some good fucking food."
Hey eric I havent seen GOTG 3 but i feel like i need to but will you please review Puss in Boots 2 it has already released
I got a couple of videos that I am writing and editing right now. But I will try to get to that. It's definitely on the list.
How would you rank the three main Guardians of the Galaxy villains (Ronan, Ego and the High Evolutionary)?
The High Evolution, Ego and Ronan.
What order would you put them?
@@EricCarter12 I would rank them Ego, High Evolutionary and Ronan.
Ronan is honestly a pretty generic villain. High Evolutionary is easily the one I hate the most but I think if we got more scenes between him and Rocket in the present day instead of just the end the personal rivalry could have stood out a lot more. However, I still loved him and have him up there as one of my favorites.
Ego had the most personal rivalry with Quill and it was also very easy to hate him. However, I think he’s also the most charming as even during my first watch I was caught off guard by how cruel he was when it was revealed. The fact that he murdered billions of his children especially shocked me. Kurt Russell also had the best performance of the three in my opinion.
As someone who LOVE the 2 Guardians films (absolutely NOT AGREE on anything you said about those 2, sorry....James always had deliver, humor, drama, action and cinematography, that is not new, he always had)....yep, this is indeed my FAVORITE of the 3, I absolutely loved this film and to me the PERFECT gateway for me to exit the MCU in a good note, I know for sure, nothing coming NEXT will be as much heartfelt, emotional and heartwarming as this film is....the best looking film since.....what ever the last good looking MCU film was, I totally forget which one was..it's been so long......the best score, story, characters and easily the best ending since INFINITY WAR.....so this will be my last MCU film.....I will check them when they get to stream or I see it in TV the ones that kinda look nice, but in THEATERS...sorry Disney have loss all my confident during these last 3 years, will take a MIRACLE to win me back (Wish you better be that miracle or else). Overall, great exit for James Gunn, loved all this Guardians films, and wish him the best of luck and my support, his last 2 films have been incredible and I hardly now can't wait for see his version of SUPERMAN.
Not gonna lie I liked this movie but I do feel that Shang Shi held some held strong and was pretty good and I feel like everyone forgetting about No Way Home
I hope marvel learns from guardians 3 and make more movies like it
This movie is a rare case for me where I refuse to see it again but still genuinely enjoy my first viewing. It's a movie that I'll enjoy less and less with each subsequent viewing and I want to leave the guardians on a high note.
Hi Eric do you reckon the mcu will ever make another great movie like infinte war or endgame again? Oh do you reckon it’ll just all go down hill?
If it wasn’t James Gunn directing, they probably, no, they would’ve made rockets backstory into a joke, like they did with cancer in thor love and thunder
I like the howard the duck cameo. Did you?
It was fun. But I honestly thought it was too brief to really make anything of.
Yesss
2:02 Infinity War?
What score out of ten would you give to The Suicide Squad and Peacemaker?
If I remember correctly, The Suicide Squad got a very good 7/10. And Peacemaker got an 8.
@@EricCarter12 so would you say Vol 3 is better than TSS but worse than Peacemaker?
@@user-xy3ee8bw6j I don't know. It really depends on rewatch value. The Suicide Squad was a more fun watch but the emotional impact wasn't anywhere near as strong as Guardians 3. That's why I need to see it again to know for sure.
Eric can you make a movie review of puss in boots the last wish
Ppl are still not seeing the point of the High Evolutionary and why he is terrifying. I was hoping Eric Carter would understand but he obviously doesn't. And i have been around enough ppl like the High Evolutionary to actually understand him.
High Evolutionary in this film is a human who is a perfectionist, narcissist, psychopath, vain, and has a God complex. But deep down, he is a small man full of insecurities yet he refuses to accept his flaws. All those traits in one person is scary becuz he continues to create things and if it aint perfect for him, then he destroys it yet he also cant stand others being better than him. All his screaming and shouting and tantrum throwing are typical for ppl who think highly of themselves (consider it like a Karen when they don't get there way). The worst part is how he continues to experiment, destroy his creations without a care is what makes him more terrifying than any of the MCU villains whereas its always a territory based theme.
I think ppl are hoping for a villain to sympathize and say, "oh we understand and thats why he is a villain." But that has been done so many times now that it's time we actually bring back someone who is a villain to the core. Someone who is just plain out evil and show that there are evil who actually has no care of the world vs ppl who became evil becuz of tragic past and trauma.
This didn't hype me for the next MCU content, but the next DCU content.
This is just a legitimate good movie
I loved every second of this movie
Then we got flash coming really soon
Please do Kung Fu Panda vs How To Train Your Dragon
I mean in my opinion GOFG 3 probably is the best movie since no way home cause it was just awesome not saying its a masterpiece like others do its just great
