This is the best video on CZcams in regards to basic CP system and it's function. The presenter did an AMAZING job!
This is gold 👌 Thank you so much!!! I'm been researching all the time about this cause is not only following the prints, as a electrician I love the troubleshooting and the understanding of CP is value resource for industrial electricians that was my first assignment on my first time at the trade, thanks again 🍻
Thank you so much for making this publicly available.
Nice basic introduction,( meaning no chemistry degree necessary) very well presented, Great to see companies willing to part with with there experience and information so freely, Thank you
can you or someone explain why we make our structure (electrode) more -ve in potential? As the presenter showed in chart and told that more negative metals tend to give aways electrons easily and hence corrode. A bit confused
Loved your presentation. I have been curious about cathodic protection since I learned 50+ years ago that AT&T protected its buried lead-sheathed cable cathodically. Now I will be going in search of some books which give me the math ! Job well done, thanks !
Every second of this video is very important. Condensed with real life application examples. Great video.
Fantastic Presentation, you really know your cathodic protection!
Thank you so much for sharing this lecture! saved me a lot of time :)
Thank you very much. Loved the presentation. Very interesting and learnt a bunch. Will watch again for my own learning notes.

Thank you for the knowledgeable presentation I'm working on cathodic protection system project for pipeline network and this helped my a lot understand what is needed to be done
Very insightful, what an amazing lecture. Thank you for sharing.
Very brilliant and on point Cathodic Protection Introduction
This is what i was doing a pm on out in the field at the plant great explanation of cathotic protection.
Wow! What an excellent presentation and instructor!!
Very good lecture. Learned much in an hour. Thank you for showing...
Thanks a lot. I didn't get so easy explanation over the internet. Real time Industrial application is explained in this video.
What a beautiful explanation! Thanx Sir.
Super... The best technical learning video i have seen till date in CZcams !
Great presentation - thank you!
Such an amazing presentation. Thank you so much for this informative video 🙏
THANK YOU VERY MUCH SIR... THAT YOU GIVING ME AN IDEA, SPECIALLY IF I APPLYING IN THE SHIP VESSLE... BRAVO!!!
Thank you for the video! Very helpful.
Awesome. The analogies you used were very helpful.
I really appreciate this presentation. Well done.
Very good presentation. Thank you!
Made the topic so much easier to understand...thank you.
Thank you so much! This video really helped me.
Thank you very much sir your teaching style and abilities are far better than my teacher for this subject...!!
Excellent presentation, shows how much exp he is..
Very good presentation, refreshing!
Thanks very much, excellent presentation
Thanks for the sharing really helpful.
I like how you made it more relatable.
Excellent video. Thank you for sharing.
Very simply presented and impressing. Thanks
Nice presentation. Thanks 👍
Good educational video. Thx!
Well spent hour. Thanks.
Be AWARE about the 100mv shift criteria. It is the difference between the instant off reading and the native reading. not like said in 18:00. thanks
Excellent presentation. We expect more like this kind of presentation.
Wonderful presentation !!!
Good info. Excellent way of teaching
Thanks , great video!
great video! thanks for the information
Thanks so much for the presetation
Great presentation!
This video takes on electrolytes and more on the corrosive points, good
thank you for sharing this lecture
This is super useful.
Very good introduction to cathodic protection
wow! great presentation
Very Informative , Great Presentation
It's very helpful and thanks for sharing 👍👍👍
fantastic job great presentation
Nice Presentation,Really Helpful
Thank you very much for the presentation.
Bander al Ghamdi SAPMT.
Very good presentation .
I really appreciated this video. I decided to study for the CP-1 and found this video and it was extremely useful. The light analogy was fantastic.
very excellent lecture
thank you I've learned a lot from this.
Had to pause not even three minutes in to mention I have gained a lot of information already!
Wonderful Presentation (y)
So from the corrosion point of view, it is advisable to use aluminum cables rather than copper for grounding re-bars of concrete structures?
thanks for presentation.
I saw a system added to a building. How did they insure all rebar was all bonded together?
Fantastic video
Very good presentation
Nice Presentation. Thx :-)
thanks for sharing!
Excellent
Thank you very much .. Great presentation
Hello Amr Sayed, thank you for your comment. Please check out MATCOR's brand new website; we'll be adding more educational resources there in the months to come! We'd love your feedback. www.matcor.com
VERY GOOD LECTURE
Very helpful
Good video thanks
beyond perfect
This video is so interesting
Impressive presentation... I'm Metallurgist working in painting and coating industry, and interested in CP.... Thanks
In seawater cooling systems on ships, would you rather place the CP at the beginning or the end of the pipeline? You cannot have to much protection.
@matcor Hi Matcor -- do you have a reference for the 20mA/sq ft current requirement for buried copper mentioned at 52:37?
Would it be possible or plausible to throw the .pdf version of your presentation/ slides?
Thanks in advance!
can someone explain why we make our structure (electrode) more -ve in potential? As the presenter showed in chart and told that more negative metals tend to give aways electrons easily and hence corrode. A bit confused
Thanks!
thanks a lot
How do you control interference to electronic systems connected to earth?
Anybody have any advice or study guides they can provide about to take my nace 1
Very easy explanation about CP, my query what about the safety precaution for general public during rains, etc.
wondering about the efficacy of putting cp on carbon steel screwpiles and galvanized screwpiles
Good.
how do i give this video more than one like. Really explicit and helpful.
Greet video
Not sure who this guy is but I would like to know. This is very informative. Learned a whole lot, gearing up for NACE CP-1 in December.
@zack
Hi zack
When you have the cp1 test
Me too i have a test on next january?
This is my email :yakoub0587@gmail.com
I have also cp1 test next month
We can share info
Thanks, v useful presentation.
thank you for this great presentation.. i work as power lineman here in saudi arabia and one problem we have here is corrosion of anchor rod for guy wire of the pole where the transformer and rectifier for cathodic protection is placed . there is a oil well in the area which this cathodic protection protect. what would be your suggestion to protect the anchor rod since cp is already available. is it possible to hook up this cp to the anchor rod using the existing anode for the pipe of the well....
RICHARD NOVIO Hello Richard, if you'd like to get in touch with a MATCOR corrosion expert with your questions, please inquire on our website at www.matcor.com/contact-corrosion-expert/ and someone will get back to you. Thank you!
@@MATCORmedia Hi Matcor -- do you have a reference for the 20mA/sq ft current requirement for copper?
HOW CAN I GET MORE MATERIALS FOR MY STUDY
I want references please and more about gas pipelines projects.
ACME mnemonic was good !!
thank you
Thanks - so much for the MAGIC device to keep your car from rusting!!
Do ions actually migrate from the anode through kilometres of underground resistivities and reach the structure almost instantaneously?
Electricity travels at extremely fast speeds - far faster than the speed of sound but not as fast as the speed of light. So the answer is yes electrical current does reach the structure, even holidays in the coating kilometers away from the source.

@@tedhuck845 so why doesn't electroplating occur in soil?
Can cathodic protection be used to inhibit rust on a motor vehicle?
+John Doe
CP can only be used on structures that are underground or submerged, as an electrolyte is required for the application of cathodic protection.
Ah thanks.
