    Hi Joe, I'm Steve from New Zealand. I really enjoy your videos, You are on the subject, focused, and to the point. I have two NA GTO's. I have learned a lot from all your videos I have watched so far. Thank you for your time and for sharing your knowledge. I have a problem with both my cars, the Cruise control is not working on either vehicle. Could you do a video covering the CC system, I havent found any information on line on repairing only removing. Thanks again and keep up the good work.

      Hi Steve
      Thanks for your feedback. I am afraid that I don't do fault finding videos because without the car which has the fault, I would only be giving a long list of possible causes and it may be none of them. You will waste a bunch of money and only get pissed with me. I can tell you that the cruise control vacuum pipe is a very common fault and is easy to check. Can I suggest that you join a forum where others will share their experience. Good luck with the fault.

    Hey Joe I just had a go at removing another one of those lower tailgate trims yesterday.
    I think I may have found a pretty reliable way of getting them off without damaging them or the clips. What I did was pop the entire clip out with the trim as I went along instead of trying to remove the trim from the clips. I only ended up with one broken clip and no damage to the trim so 6 out of 7 isn't bad. It seems you've got the touch with these things either way but I thought I'd share that with everyone

      These trims are plastic. If you want to restore them, you can just lightly sand them with a super fine wet and dry paper and they should look like new again.

    Is here a way to refurbish this trim, I see a replacement isn't too costly. I saw for about $63.

      We're all in the same boat buddy. I am 2 short myself because the plastic has broken up and they are no longer available. I hope to have replacements later in the year.

      @@3000GTGTORestoration I'm trying to find a legit place to order some from that aren't obscenely expensive but haven't found a place except for one called Mitsubishioemparts.com or something but they don't even ship outside the States. So hard to find the dumbest things for these cars

      You can get rid of that sun burned plastic and sand down with 200 grit spray it black with engine paint enamel and looks great, may need a little silicon by the window to avoid water getting in

      The clips are direct from mitsubishi. The trims are from my old stock and are no longer available. There is a reproduction part on the market. Please join a forum where I am sure that someone will give you the supplier details.

  • @FuelAirSparkTime
    @FuelAirSparkTime Před 3 lety

    Hey Joe I forgot to ask. Is there a way to remove those crappy white plastic clips that inevitably break once the trim is removed and can you find replacement ones anywhere? It's the top wing parts that all snapped off. It's like they were designed to break upon removal. I love this car but man.. Mitsubishi made some poor choices in places

    Hey! Thank you so much for these videos! I'm Britney from illinois, and was wondering if you know how to change the weatherstip on the sunroof glass assembly, mine has dried out and when I take my sunroof off and put it in my trunk, it crumbles. Any help or tips would be greatly appreciated! Thank you so much again for these videos! If you have Instagram I'm @95.3000gt
