Paddling Magee's Creek - Aug. 15, 2024

We paddled Magee's Creek with the Bayou Haystackers Paddling Club on August 15, 2024. We started out with a shuttle from Canoe & Trail Outpost / Sweetwater, drove north to get dropped off, then finished up back at CTO. The water was extremely low, and our boats drug the bottom multiple times, requiring us to get out and walk our boats. Reed paddles a 2010 Wilderness Systems Tarpon 140, and Lucy paddles a 2012 Hurricane Kayaks Tampico 140S. While the water was deep enough in some sections for alligator gar and lots of other fish, it was too low to paddle. We would not recommend paddling this Creek at this water level.
