I am wondering what the financial burden of each of these paths toward exotic animal medicine is? I am currently applying to vet school now and am already looking at the bill, yay, do you have the option of getting paid during these internships and while you work towards board certification?
Not sure what your age is but 4-H can help give you experiences with many different types of animals if you are still school age. My daughter was told that gaining experience with rabbits and horses is a great way to start out. The pet rabbit project is very informative. I know you were asking her, but we have had the same questions come up. 👍

Hi! I think that if you are more into nursing the animals and prepping them then a vet tech is right for you, but if you enjoy diagnosis, surgery and continuing education then being a vet is the way to go!

I think vet med pathway is similar to medicine particularly in the US. after graduating from vet school, u became GP, then u go to residency for specialization.

Well vet techs don't make a lot of money since some States require certification and some do not.

You can specialize in whatever type you want to work with for example, marine, exotic mammals, ornithology and even herps
