Never got one but instead i ended up with a 1954 Cadillac 75 series limousine which served me very well for many years and got me into a lot of places like up at Hearst Castle, Chateau Carolands and other historic places over the years with passengers like Countess Tolstoy, Miss America Laura Kaeppler, Drew Carey, Sir Richard Taylor to name a few, and when I play the lottery and when I win, this will be at the top of my list of things to buy!! A real beauty . I like 55 the best too. Especially in black. Had one back 64. Friend had black one I worked for Chrysler so I knew him. Traveled for living. In 65 he brought it in and ask him if he was here for lube and oil. He said "No I had valves ground at 275k it's got 450k on it now, I guess I'm feeling a little guilty he said so I'm having it overhauled although it really doesn't need it. " Chrysler pioneered Super finish. Where they polished all internal engine parts tripling engine life. Yellow cab used to run the old toothy desotos. They wrote and article for classic cars back in 82 where they said they ran those old flat sixes 600k between overhauls and bodies 1.5 million miles. most people think Imperial was just a chrysler with different emblems, but actually back in 50 imperials got bigger frame and different front and rear axles and larger bolt pattern. The limo was even 5" wider. Inside front and rear wheel bearings were 3 inch timken roller bearings. The same as a one ton truck.
