Twista actually had the record before me back in 91, but I broke it in 92 and a couple times after that. My 2007 record is actually the fastest standing record in the book now at 852 syllables in 42 secs. Em fans coming to my channel trying to down play me is why I been going in on Em in songs. In 1991 I realized it (a year before breaking the record for my 1st time). I also have another set record that was done after this video.
Even though I didn't really rap in "quad time" before then I did have previous experience rapping fast to up beat tempo tracks, which was more than practice enough and made doing this relatively simple.
The different between rapping up beat tempo fast and spittin' in quad speed could be best demonstrated in this, an actually song that I made. (link at bottom)
This whole rap is up beat tempo fast but at 1:33 I go quad speed for 13 secs. That is the difference in how I rap. I don't rap like how I am in this video though I can and have on occasions but I always prefer the traditional up beat speed over quad rappin' (or twisting) any day... Once again, as promised. Another song of mine, posted as a part of the "You need to become familiar with what I do outside of these Guinness records" movement. I am a living testament and embodiment of our Hip Hop culture from maybe the greatest era ever. A part of the true "Golden Age Era": 1987-1991, at least that was the time frame in which all of my influences, mentors and training was at it's highest stage of my development of becoming a creator. Also a time where damn near any and everyone who would even spit into a mic priding themselves on how original they could be and how creative in doing so. If there were two or more people who seemed to have sounded a like, with similar flow styles, there were usually confrontations over that shit. The term "biting" then, meaning copying off of someone else. Copying was always frowned upon. Everything that made me stand out as one of the dopest lyricist then, has been doing nothing but growing extensively over the years because I can't ever turn it off. The extent of my abilities now has surprised what I would have even believed possible back at that time. Today is like the total opposite of my era. Biting was not tolerated during my mine, while mostly everyone today seems to pride themselves on being and sounding just like everyone else. I'm baffled by this, but at the same time, I am not.Because I know why it is...
This song, "Runnin' Rhythms", was made on June 3rd, 1993. I remember it was 3 days before my birthday, and it was a part of a session at "Hair Bear" Studio in which we recorded 4 full length songs in 4 hrs. Here is an analogy for those who are having a difficult time grasping such a simple concept. A NASCAR racers drives as fast as possible in an attempt at winning a race but I am sure that same racer does not drive in the same manner on public streets where a much different set of rules and regulations apply. To all of the mentally less fortunate who comes by and says things like "He raps fast but no one can understand him" I say this, if that NASCAR racer drove at city limit speeds on the race track, would he stand a chance at winning the race? No, didn't think so. So if I am rapping to break a record and it sounded like something you would easily pick up on and sing along with, do you think it would qualify as a record for something such as world's fastest rapper? Of course not and just like that NASCAR racer, I too drive outside of the race track. I have plenty songs which if a lot of you took the time to do something as simple as click on the icon to get to my main channel's page would realize. There are many layers to my talent and skill set. Breaking and claiming 3 Guinness record titles is just something I did while passing through this endless hip hop journey. Truth be told, I have no real interest in even rapping at such speeds (well maybe sometimes but rarely) and did it only simple because I could.

Yeah, I have 3 Guinness record titles for world's fastest rapper. Great, but this shit is a mere novelty act, at best. I can't stress enough that my extreme speed is mainly for Guinness records only. Sure, I have been known to cut lose every now and then on a song with speed and an exponential amount of depth and skill when compared to this straight forward (simple) Guinness rap but extreme speed definitely isn't what's most important to me. I am a lyricist and my main focus is and has always been on punchlines, metaphors, (SUPER) multiple rhyme connections, (unorthodox) rhyme scheme patterns and such. Also, for those who may not know, the XD in my name is NOT a smiley face. It is an X and a D - for Extremely Dope. Just to show that I had Rebel XD, way before anyone has seen it on the internet as the word "rebel", followed by a smiley face, one of the biggest and first publications of my name was in 1993 - for the first time I broke the Guinness record for speed. I've been Rebel XD since 1988 and no I am NOT 60 as some may have jokingly suggested. I am (a very good looking, might I add:-) 42 year old as off yesterday (June 6th) and my skills are better than ever and still improving. This song here is a great example of my true flow and production style. Anyone who would like to judge me as a lyricist would be better judging me by this than my Guinness record breaking raps, which to me are nothing more than novelty acts.
