  • Taco Bell is Dead to Me!
I generally avoid fast food, but once every year or two I crave a vegan Taco Bell burrito and tacos. They are crap quality, but those little salsa packets taste too good for me to give up.
At least that was the case until now. Taco Bell just opened its second branch in Barcelona, Spain. So I decided to go crack myself out on my yearly fix of Taco Bell hot salsa.
They have these new touch ordering screens that look like big iPhones where you can omit ingredients, but as usual I ended up having to order from the guy at the counter - who actually turned out to be quite helpful and knowledgeable about what’s vegan. He correctly ordered vegan food for me.
I’d noticed on the touch ordering display that the bean “frijoles” burrito image showed black beans - but I suffered cognitive dissonance keeping the hope alive that they would still have refried pinto beans.
Of course my hopes were dashed, upon delivery of my tacos. Rather Spartan with only the vegan ingredients left after excluding the non-vegan ones, the burrito and tacos only had whole black beans and a bit of rice inside them!!!
This was a disaster. I cannot understand why people think that black beans are healthier than pinto beans - in what alternative universe is this the case? And refried beans - which can be either pinto or black - simply have oil and salt added to them generally - which makes them taste good - and oil and salt are good for you in proper proportions. So this Taco Bell shift from pinto to black beans is obviously a giant corporate marketing decision to influence public perception of their food to make it appear healthier.
Needless to say - it is still just fast garbage - factory processed chemical concoctions designed by scientists to look like food!
Oh well, I guess in the greater scheme of things this is a good thing for me as it is the only fast food I’ve ever craved. I get a vegan sandwich at Subway once in a blue moon if I’m desperate but otherwise I don’t go near fast food joints and I eat extremely healthily.
    Good Bye Taco Bell!

Can I ask you what it's like living in Spain? I'm thinking of relocating somewhere warm in the future.
    Thanks.

the green ribbon club Spain is an awesome country - and believe me I’m jaded. It’s not perfect but there’s something really solid and relaxed about Spanish culture. It’s hot in the Southern coasts though - although Catalonia is *much* milder than Málaga. It’s less pressurized than UK or NYC.

@@jessewaughcom thank you. I was thinking about Northern Spain but will decide at some point in the future.
My friend is moving to the Costa coastline to open a beauty parlor. I may end up there even.

You posted a couple of controlled opposition videos recently which I didn't yet get around to watching and then took them down. Why?

John Cheetham I don’t want to get caught up in someone else’s narrative because it’s a controlled dialectic and I strive for independence, and I feel vulgar and debased when I descend into discussing vulgar issues like temporal politics. This Taco Bell video somehow acts as a counter to that - as inane as that many seem. It is a sort of deliberate, artificial bottoming-out for me - a humble parody of trash culture.
I want to help humanity, but Truth-tellers get crucified, and I no longer like humanity enough to stick my neck out in this way any more. I see human beings as just another - rather interesting - species of life. Life is cannibalistic. We are the only species which has a few individuals - like myself - who actively attempt to stop cannibalism.
In my experience, the surest way to get views is to name drop and latch onto popular subjects - so-called “influencers” - and be controversial. To me that’s essentially just more cannibalism, and it’s vulgar and ruinous to quality. There’s something counterproductive about popularity. So I seem to sabotage myself or my work whenever something I do garners any modicum of “popularity”.
I think I have a fairly unique ability to cut through lies and see the Truth - and consequently Beauty as well. Most people can’t recognize this - or refuse to - so I suffer from their incredulity, disdain, lack of support and even hatred.
I’ve been fighting for Truth and Beauty for decades now, and I’m getting
spent. Life, and my God - who I call The Sacred Hermaphrodite, and to whom I surrender my whole being - seem to be honing my efforts - knocking off extraneous works which should not take precedence - focusing my work into channels (media) which best suit the goals of Pulchrism.

Veganism is anti-Pulchrist because it is ignorant of history and evolution and attempts to detach itself from nature and the natural cycles of life and death. (Come on Jesse, you're not really vegan, don't start making vegan videos. Especially if you insist on saying "vagan").

John Cheetham I am opposed to cannibalism. Cannibalism is natural, and Nature may be cannibalistic. I agree that the Universe is beautiful - and it is cannibalistic. But I strive to create a better, more Beautiful Universe.
