Their swearing is like a art form.
an...sometimes I wonder if the world is slowly becoming a better place when I correct idiot fools on their grammar, or will it still be just the same...
The Brits are even polite when they insult you.
The bipolar butcher
Swearing like a Brit is an art.
Well spotted, a lot of it is sexuality based, so wouldn't be used anymore by most skilled inflicters of artful insults
This is why I use the self checkout!
I tried this in a conversation. Don't remember much about it though. The last thing I remember was a lot of pain in my face and passing out after the first insult.
Me when I'm off my meds.
"Slimy Trollup" is definitely going to be used very soon!
I love these quickie sketches. One of Python's finest achievements.
"per pound you slimy trollop, what kind of a ponce are you."
fucking legendary.
Eric Idle is my favorite actor in MP. This episode is one of the best in MP history. "The Argument" sketch is a close 2nd with Michael Palin and John Cleese.
The way he insults that gentleman is rather artistic... I admire the wit of monty python.
That last line kills me
Reminds me of my local Tesco Express store that
Always loved this one. A little gem in the Python crown.
Got to love monty python :D
I can't help but feel I know people like this...
The title alone "The man who is alternately rude and polite" had me in stitches. Then I watched it... :D
Same here. I just realised I replied to a 15 year old comment. You might be married with kids by now.
This is one of my favorite skits! Simple but excellent. Thakns for posting! "Tough titty if it did you nasty spotted planter!"
If this were an SNL sketch, this would've gone on for another two minutes.
If this were an SNL sketch, we would've left after two seconds.
(SNL 2017 style, that is, of course)
The title of this sketch is the funniest thing i have seen in a while.
I knew plenty of people who were great at first but come a few days (probably over night) they changed all together to mean and spiteful people for no apparent reason. I'll never understand why...
Absolutely hilarious! I wish that comedy was like this now! Monty Python is absolutely brilliant! ( :
Eric and Mike...
My FAVORITE Python boys!!!
They're so funny together!
(and cute) ;)
The title of this very video expresses perfectly what the opposite of a clickbait is.
I grew up on Monty Python as a kid. Then in my teen yrs they wld play it on Mtv. (The 80s)
I know people like this...
That chicken went on to have a long and successful career..
'Tough tit if it ever did you nasty spotted prancer' xD
I love this sketch
I bet he can insult someone about being gay for hours.
Daniel Sadjadi
And what do you think he means when he uses words like Poof and Prancer? Let me give you a hint; theyre old school slurs for gay persons.
fantastic
Oh, how I wish I could do this to customers. My day would go so much better.
This must be the most accurately named sketch of all time
There's normal English and then there's ENGLISH English.
American swearing is the adult equivalent of babies crying. This is REAL adult swearing.
+godzillavkk True. We prefer to express our emotions physically, not repress them, so we don't need it as much.
Sometimes. (It's cathartic, and everyone gets over it.) Or just, you know, more openly discuss things, physicality involved or not...we don't need creative profanity.
+godzillavkk That makes no sense, but there's nothing wrong with taking pride in your culture. It's endearing.
the word pillock is just so much funnier out of Eric Idle
Thanks for posting, this is one of my favorite bits
This could have just kept going..
At least you didn't use 'could of'........you mentally insolvent buffoon.
>:D
that reminds me of my dad LOL!!!
I love the way Palin says "Alternately" and his face at that moment (and just after).
Humour from the top team!
Does the alternate rude/polite serving guy remind anyone else of David Tennant or is it just me?
It's nice how the joke stops when it's done instead of being dragged out for five minutes.
He didn't ask for a dead chicken licence. He should have done so, because that chicken was definitely dead, and the poultry police can issue on-the-spot fines for licence evasion.
Trump's negotiation tactics.
American foreign policy in a nutshell.
A short skit, but still one of MP's best ever!
I send this to everyone..i'm crazy about it..it never fails to crack me up no matter how many times I view it!
I'm a huge fan of British Humor. I prefer this kind of classic comedy over the kind of Comedy we have in today's society because society today is just so 180. Things ARE NOT how they were 20-30 years ago. Today's era say of political correctness has ruined comedy completely in today's society. We all know this is a comedy skit but this right here is a prime example as to what we humans put up with in today's society because everything is just so backwards. Being polite is rude, and being rude is polite. Reality is fake, and fake is reality and with all that being said being polite is SO RARE these days that it's often mistaken for flirting... Many Americans these days can even understand British humor. I'm only 26 and I've sold out my own generation because while everyone else is walking around with swag using terms such as "baby mama, baby daddy" I'm walking around with class using terms such as "mother of ones child, father of ones child." People like Our founding Fathers as well as Einstein are all rolling in their graves.
I'm so sad that I'm not able to understand what he says when he's being "rude" #FrenchGuyHere #NotUsedToThatStrangeAccent #TranscriptPlease?
+Béranger Seguin I can transcript the "rude" parts for you if you like. In order:
"Don't come here with that posh talk you nasty, stuck-up twit!"
"Per pound you slimy trollop? What kind of a ponce are you?"
"Use your own, you great poofy poonagger!"
"Ooo, 'thank you' says the great Queen like a lah-di-dah poofter!"
"What is now, you great pillock?"
"Tough titty if it did, you nasty spotted prancer!"
A lot of these insults are either made up or are just not used in everyday speech, so you might still have some trouble with it though :P
+JTHertz Thanks a lot ! This is really nice from you and very funny ! :p
So, if you are not english native, you wont understand a word..is that it?
God prevent me from learning a second language...
(oh, these french...I fart on their general direction!)
Monty python i think will always hold the title of greatest sketch group ever
-
I learned all my early British insults from this show... _and_ saw nudity on the telly for the first time. Public television in its prime!
Few times hath my jaw been dropped in such a way. Bravo to you, good sir!
I love watching this after a hard day at work :)
Like the way Eric almost lyrically alliterates the letter p in his insults, except the last sentence which is the letter t.
One of my favourite Python sketches!
Just get accustomed and once you understand you'll love it.
I love this skit so much
This is one of my all time faves!
i love the way he insults the guy with a straight face
ya spotted prancer...never has a more cheetahlike phrase been spoken
They switched to decimal in 1971, I think, which would be not long after this sketch was made. When Eric Idle says "4 and 6 a pound," he's referring to both currency and weight. He means 4 shillings and six pence per lb of meat.
This is the best Monty Python sketch
I'd forgotten that one! great stuff. I like the argument one best
One of my all time favorite Python bits.
Thanks for the extremely detailed explaination. =O
It grieves me to hear that, kind sir.
The younger Rees-Mogg.
Love how he can keep a straight face as he insults him! Truly awesome acting.
The really sad part about this sketch here is I actually know people who are like this in real life.
Awesome! Thank you!
Monty Python = Legend!!
this sketch can just be seen again and again....
Those insults crack me up every time. XD
these guys were the best comedians
First Monty Python episode I've ever seen from the Flying Circus...

I love these British insults.
"Ladidah puffta."
Haven't seen that one yet LOL, that's a good one! XD My favourite are office sketch and silly walks departament ;P
I love the insults. Such colourful English words.
Short but sweet. Python at its best :)
Nice one
All you need is love and understanding
Monty Python. Made me laugh before I even clicked the video :P
Touché.
It reminded me someone I used to know, too.....but now she's passed on. Gone to meet her maker.
the pythons were around from '69 through the seventies and only toured in the 80's! ya big trollop! :)
wish this was on for longer
love it
Genius!
This must be an inconvenience store.
You've won the internet.
Eternal victory and dominion over the internet.
