    Open bolt is ridiculously simple full auto. It doesn't need an auto sear, not even a hammer, just a trigger that actuates a sear. A SMG can be made in a garage from scrap metal.

      @@Magno_Money they arnt illegal, they are just really hard to get and not all states allow them. You can legally own a sten and any other open bolt sub machines gun made before 1984 if you live in the right state and jump thru the hoops to own one. It’s just cheaper to make one and illegally own it then pay the stupid prices to get one legally.

  • @ramases1
    @ramases1 Před 3 lety +3

    I think the bolt is more shaped than it needs to be? Why the grooves that extend right back? Surely just two 10mm fins would provide adequate force to push round out of the magazine?

    • @alex-qd4oz
      @alex-qd4oz Před 3 lety +2

      I think its because of the ejector

    • @ramases1
      @ramases1 Před 3 lety +1

      @@alex-qd4oz yes I know the grooves are for the ejector to run through but still I don't see why they have to extend right back. Maybe it's just easier to make a long groove with the machinery used, eg 3,4 inch cutting disc?

    • @alex-qd4oz
      @alex-qd4oz Před 3 lety +1

      it looks like the ejector is reaching the end of the grooves when the bolt chambers the bullet and the firing pin hits the primer

    • @arnbon6241
      @arnbon6241 Před 4 lety

      When there is forward force there is always opposing force. When the bullet fires, since the bullet fires forward an opposing force is created ( to the rear) and the spent shell moves backwards pushing the piston back while spending the shell and feed another bullet in the chamber at the same time.
