UP is a "hotbed of activism"
many of social activists came from this university
UP Dilliman is a lush, green campus, but NOT during summer (many leaves have withered & were cooked by the burning sun)
it is really a captivating / spacious / green campus
it's too huge to explore indeed!

UP is my dream school. It's a secular university that promotes freedom of thought, however radical, unpopular, weird, blasphemous those thinkings can be. There's no discrimination. You can be ethnic, tribal, agnostic, atheist, religious, idealist, etc. They are very liberal, and they uphold your rights to express your thoughts without fear or reservation so long as you respect others'. Thanks for visiting our campus, Kell.

UP has the best law school in the country, annually making the most number of bar topnotchers. The country's legendary lawyers and most of the politicians and statesmen came from that university. The best part in studying at UP is that there is no discrimination for what you are and where you're from, and regardless of what your social status is. There is great diversity of students and some came from different tribes or ethnic minorities in the country. If you are poor, the government will subsidize your education as long as you have potential. But still, it is a far cry from Europe's universities particularly in Scandinavia where college education is free.

That is also what really separate the Philippines. I see students hang out in throngs of 20 or even more. If he does this, wow, that would get so many views.

I have to say, though, this is nowhere near the entirety of the campus 🤣 The College of Science, located near the outskirts of UPD, is a must-visit, as well! 💙 And you ABSOLUTELY should visit during April-May, the so-called graduation season. They plant thousands of sunflowers along the University Avenue and around the Oblation Plaza! 🌻

Melchora Hall is pronounced as Mel-cho-ra Hall.
The giant field you saw is called the “Sunken Garden” because it is a field in a Sunken ground.
During February they have a fair at the Sunken Garden called the UP fair. The jeepney’s pass through UP and after go to different parts of Manila.
Also there is more to the campus than just where you went, we also have the “Bahay ng Alumni” or the House of Alumni, where a lot of events are being held there. We have a hospital and a shopping center (which unfortunately, burned down recently) on the campus as well. They have the Parish of Holy Sacrifice, it is a big dome-shaped church in the campus. There is so much more the the campus but It’ll take too long to tell if I mention everything else that is great.
