Woodstock Minute on Larry Fine from the Three Stooges. A very rare recording of him describing the scene and his contributions at the legendary music festival.
This was written by Fred Norris and Billy West, and features Fred as the reporter. Produced by Scott "The Engineer" Salem at K-Rock in New York, where Allison Steele was working at the time.
The real Larry Fine spent his final days at the Motion Picture Country Home (so did Joe De Rita). He gave a poignant interview about the roughness of show business; it's on CZcams. Larry died in 1975 at the age of 72.
Hearing this in the 90s was an incredible moment in time. Being a Stern fan at the show's height was one of the great times of my life. I miss those days.
You’re absolutely right! Billy West was fabulous with his voice impersonations and delivering those lines had us in tears laughing. And the day he got carried away with his Marge Schott impersonation was epic and even had Howard dying. But yes, this time was the peak of the Stern Show. We’ll always be fans but the time when every day was about strippers, etc, we decided to give it up, really boring , even after we signed up on Sirius satellite. Glad to see Howard’s years of therapy have paid off because he’s now not the angry young man from the early days at WNBC. Peace everyone! And “Baba-Booey to y’all”!
Every once in a while I have to come back and listen to this. Classic Billy West on Stern is about as good as radio could get. You'd never hear that stuff on the radio anymore, other than maybe XM/S.
Holy slapstick......Larry Fine unplugged at Woodstock. Is there no end to his (their) spontaneity. Long live The 3 Stooges & the laughter that lives forever !
One of the best and greatest comedian's Larry fine brought laughter for generations here we are laughing hysterically to the funniest men ever who invented slapstick and eye poking and pie fights as we know it you made be gone but not forgotten your legacy of laughter still continues on keep the laughs coming appreciate you guys thanks you made my weekend thanks ! Joe
Wow Kim believe he said all these funny sounding Yiddish words. You'll never hear those words ever again on TV. But thanks to CZcams making it possible
@@virg0_lem0nade Miss being able to tune him in on the Stern show in the mornings for the kind of comedic free-for-alls they used to have, I think he means. But you knew that.
I remember completely falling in love with😂 Stimpy's voice on Ren and Stimpy because it was so soothing and strangely familiar. Then one day someone said "he's just the voice of Larry from The Three Stooges" and that shook my world. I❤Larry. He's so Fine.
They were some of the best years of radio because of the tension between Howard ,Jackie, Fred against Jackie who always set himself apart or above everybody else. When Howard would put JackIe in his place and everybody was pylon including Billy West it was the funniest s**t there was.😂👍
_Oh my god, I remember this!_ The part where he tells Country Joe to spell _fuck_ on stage, I had this randomly playing in my head for decades but I couldn't remember what radio show it was from! Man this was before Howard went to SIRIUS.
Yeah, I remember, I was there; Larry showed up as a favor, and the one person who thought she knew him asked where Moe and Curly were. No wonder why he smashed his violin on stage and went on with an attitude; ever had the feeling you have...with the wrong guy.
Gee.. after all of these years, now we're finding out that Larry Fine as @ Woodstocking! Why wasn't he in the movie? Hey.. & no pics of him @ Woodstocking have ever surfaced either!
🔵 His voice is SO incredibly identical to Larry Fines, it's a phenomenon, TRULY!!
The Genius of Billy West, Fred Norris, Jackie Martling and Howard Stern. These were the golden years.
straight truth right there!!
Any time you consider Howard Stern and Jackie Martling as Genius, you know it's time to have your blood pressure checked you must be pre stroke .
Absolutely new fans have no idea how absolutely cripplingly hilarious the old shows used to be

Billy West is the best Larry FIne.
No! It's Fine himself!
Yosef Demby
It's Billy West. That's a bit that they did on the Howard Stern Show.
@@MSB-fj7cd I think he meant that Larry Fine is the best Larry Fine.
He sounds like Stimpy from Ren and Stimpy cartoon show
@@yosefdemby8792 no you can tell its Billy West
What an amazing spot-on imitation of Larry Fine! And I miss Allison Steele (the Nightbird at WNEW-FM) as much as I miss The Three Stooges. RIP all
Don’t think he would’ve said that about Jimi- but the comedy was pretty rough when the radio did this shtick
He used his Larry impersonation as the basis for Stimpy’s voice. He voiced both Ren & Stimpy for years.
Still the greatest Howard Stern Show bit ever.
"Oh yes, I started drinking when I heard Crosby, Stills, and Nash."
Billy West is a friggin genius.
i thought that was him billy west lol he was good and sound like him he was a legend, Billy.

@@jimcook2715 It's pretty dumb, but I never heard anyone do Larry so well. He got it down perfectly.
*_"Now get out there before i take an axe handle to your colon !"_*

This never stops being funny....
you got that right! I searched for this clip for years before the internet, finally found it a while back.
"I felt out of place until I saw Sha Na Na"
I thought he would have said Wavy Gravy.
“You don’t have to be dirty to be funny” - Larry Fine
Billy West is so good at impersonating Larry.
He's the best!
One day, he could provide Larry's voice for future animated projects and marketing.
Calling Dr. Howard, Dr. Fine, Dr. Howard.....Dr. Leary.
Coit-en-Lee.
This played during morning drive time on K-ROCK. I almost drove off the road from laughing so hard. During the years of peak Stern.
That was when the Stern show was reliably hysterical. If he took away the bimbo factor, it would've perfect
The impression of Larry is actually spot on.
Whoever did Hendrix was shit though.
Rest in peace Allison Steele, I loved working for you! *_:(..._*
Someone needs to animate this with Stimpy.
I remember hearing this on the radio back in the 1900's. Thank you.
Wow. You must have had a radio that could hear the future.
How did you hear this back in the 1900's?
@@hhscadets0925 this was first broadcast sometime between 1990 and 1991 or 92
It actually aired in 1989. The DJs at WXRK were all recording their own "Woodstock moments" to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Woodstock.
Holy mackel!

"Let the schwartze light himself on fire" made me almost pass out. 😆

"Those ferkakte schnooks at Warner Bros. stifffed me on the movie deal!"
George: Whadda you kvetching about? Don't be so ferklempt! Ya nudnik!
I LOVED this the first time I heard it...and I just loved it again! Thanks for posting it!
He should have had Larry use one of his best lines " This place reminds me of the reform school "
"lets trip -we have nothing to loose" L. Fine - B West
Years ago I convinced one of my friends that this was real.
Billy West finest moment

Maybe I've watched too much Futurama but this voice really just sounded like Billy West to me. He's used this voice for a lot of secondary characters.

Billy West had a gig on WBCN The Rock of Boston 104.1FM and did many voices but Larry Fine's was spot on.
Larry harmonizing with CSN...exquisite...
Lofl ah even after the 20th time hearing this I love it, just great. Billy, go back on Howard's show!!
When I clicked on this I thought it was actually Larry but as soon as “Larry” spoke 🤣🤣
That’s a great impersonation of Larry
Louis Fineberg, an underappreciated genius as portrayed by Mr. Billy West.
Sounds like Stimpy [go, Billy West!]
exactly. it was intentional. they based Stimpy's voice off Larry's, and Ren's was based off Peter Lorre.
DrumWild it is the voice of Stimson
Love it !!!
Allison Steele was the best on late night, WNEW.
the moment when billy realized he could impersonate obscure celebs
brilliant absolutely brilliant after all these years!
"I Said to Moe, 'Let's Trip!"
This is priceless. Funny af.
GOD I love this!!! Love love LOVE it
I remember this one.
Still makes me laugh. Arguably Howard's best recorded bit.
Amazing!
Billy West should’ve been in the 2012 version of The Three Stooges instead of Sean Hayes.
Billy provided dialogue coaching for that movie, but yes, he should have been in it.
He was a consultant for the film.
@@WilliamViets was he? Awesome I didn't know that.

Larry Fine wasn't exactly a faint voice in the background during the CSNY performance.
I just realized that Larry's voice is basically Stimpy.....lol.

Saw Billy at Sketch fest in SF back in January. The guy's a genius and here he is at his best.
Are there any pictures of Larry and Moe at Woodstock
oh man, hearing swearing in stimpy's voice is great
Man, does Billy West have a great sense of humor.
Don't forget the 'k'......at the end!!!
Could you imagine Stimpy saying some some of the stuff he says in this sketch on the nickelodeon show
That was a great bit. Lordy, does Billy West sound like Larry !
When the Stern show was funny!
Awesome. Larry.
I suddenly had an epiphany that Stimpy is Larry Fine reincarnated as a cat.
LOL - I was surprised that really IS Alison Steele narrating! RIP

How surreal. Very funny and abstract funny. 💁🏼♂️
I heard Larry played a mean fiddle. A killer Three Blind Mice; Curly's fave. Until the crowd started throwing pies.
