I'm still buzzing from their Minneapolis show a few weeks before this. They're definitely a band that stood the test of time and left their own originalt mark in rock music history.
I was once an ultra blessed and humble and star-struck host to Daniel Ash when he DJd @ Reds Cafè in Santa Barbara CA W T F I was dazed and overcome by the encounter WHOH A REAL ROCKSTAR whom I was deeply affected by, walked in to my place of work, haloed by sunlight, chill and cool as lightning as he entered my life and I reeled in astonishment. ❤
So Cool at all ... the sound (captured alive) is weel balanced to create the "clima" (perfect mastering to the "ultraMediuns" filters refilled of CZcams ... alive session are very creative at realTime ... the audioTrack is well done! I followed Love & Rockets, in New York, 1982, East Side, 2nd Avenue / 9th. st ... Now, I'm in Rio - watchin this slice of reality beyond space and time - is alive! so alive! .... and, right here, in brazillian-portuguese we use to write JUTY NINE (06/09) inverted: the day first, the mounth after ... then, today, 08/23/2023 we weite 23/08/2023 ... then, when a read NY - 06/09/2023, like a "Quantum Jump", i was in the future by the past ... what a JUMP
First show I ever saw, Love & Rockets, May 1988, in Berkeley, CA. Saw them again, May 2023, in Oakland, CA. Only took 35 years. But damn, it was worth the wait.

Anyone know the track name or which album the song at 47:00 was on? Lucky to have seen them at Cruel world fest and now in LA with this almost identical set. So inspiring to see them still doing so well.
@@NoName-bl5sr Hrm, I was afraid you'd say that. I took a look at Ticket chart yesterday around 2 p.m. and it showed tons of tickets still available. I'm not schlepping into NYC much or at all from LI lately, and the good seats seemed very high to me, in some cases. I really had meant to attend. I don't love the nabe where Kings is, and I hear parking is bad, but I usually find parking in Brooklyn or Queens, so whatever. Looks like the show was great, of course. I would have gone for the pit tix if I did attend, why not?
@N. D. I saw them in Seattle, and many people were surprised when I saw L&R. Quite a few regretted they didn't know about the show. Promotion for the show was non-existent aside from what hard-core fans who follow them on social media saw. I think...
Unfortunately, this is happening more often at live shows today, especially with bands from the 70s and 80s. Saw Depeche Mode, The Psychedelic Furs, Squeeze and L&R this past summer and none of them deviated from the same setlist all summer long. I think it has something to do with keeping the backing track in sync and consistent from city to city (less chance for errors) I hate to say it, but some bands overly rely on playing alongside backing tracks during live shows these days (keyboard and drum tracks - along with background vocals - are especially easy to prerecord and play alongside to) Fortunately, there are still some bands out there rotating setlists (The Cure comes to mind) but I hear ya. Playing the exact same thing from city to city is not only redundant and mundane, it’s also a bit suspect IMO.
very cool that you got to see a lot of those bands too, I'm with you fortunately on the west coast (Portland/Seattle) got to see DM, The Cure (TWICE!!!) the Furs and Squeeze, Love and Rockets, Clan of Xymox (if you know, you know..) this last year was great for rock too, Tool and Ministry, NIN came around again, Rob Zombie, so many excellent acts, but it does make sense what you're saying about it being easier for all these bands to stick to a single setlist all thru the tour.. it made me appreciate seeing the variances in the Cure's setlist because each night they played for three hours.. absolutely mind blowing. @@dburt0021
Not sure if it has to do with it but this day NYC had the worst of the Canadian wildfire smoke, on top of why NYC is normally like I imagine the air was brutal.
Saw them a couple times in the 80s. Absolutely amazing! Going to see them open for Jane’s Addiction. CANT WAIT. 🎸🎸🎸

That Minneapolis show was amazing. Me and a friend drove out from Fargo, danced the night away, and drove back grinning like idiots.
I can’t wait to see them for the first time in September with Jane’s. A dream come true!

Been a fan since they formed and I never understand how Kevin Haskins gets overlooked- he is a machine, Bauhaus, Tones on Tail and Love and Rockets.

This show was a sublime glam rock-psyche hybrid. Visuals were amazing too. And King's Theater is an excellent venue

@@daileeperucci4030 Wednesday was the worst, but Friday wasn't much better. I was at the show, the venue is amazing, and they sounded great all night.
