This show should have won. These twirls are still impressive today. So much body! Keith Potter is so amazing.

THIS SHOW IS BRILLIANT! I'm in love with how whimsical it is. Great use of abstraction and implied narrative throughout show. Looking back, I don't know how this show didn't win. I love guard during this era because it proves you don't need 30 million tricks, effects, and tosses to make a great show. I think guards now a days are so caught up on GE instead of creating a show that has CONTENT!

If this was 96 then that would be the same season they won BOA with Journey to the Adventure Zone.. I guess the guard decided to keep those braids in all year lol. They were so far ahead of other high school guards back then in terms of innovative work and execution.
I'm pretty sure their band did this piece as their field show a few years later, I seem to remember a neon checkerboard tarp?

i think this is the same piece bishop kearny used for their pollock show in 96. it must have been a popular piece to use during the time, since i think a few field shows used it as well!

Was this 1998? SCV drum corps used it in 2001. WGI was so good then, not boring maudlin shows that dominate now calling itself "high art."

Bishop Kearney did the same music. And on the tape they have them screaming, it’s OUR music. Tacky. This show should have won.

Is that on this recording? Couldn't hear it if it was. Bishop beat them by like 3 points, that's pretty undeniable as awesome as this is. Though I admit this flag work is better.
