According to LA Reid's book, Whitney sang this song in one take in the studio because she wanted to go the mall before it closed. LA and Babyface wrote this song to be as difficult to sing as possible (pitch changes, tempo, etc), and Whitney sang this in one take. I guess she really wanted to get to the mall! She came back later to do the background vocals too...No one could touch Whitney in her prime. NO ONE...RIP, Nippy.
