Thank you for posting this video. I have never seen it before but it is a wonderful stroll down memory lane for me as I, unknowingly back then, was a full on participant in what is today known as the "Golden Age Of R/C."
This video just shows what R/Cing with your buddies was like back in the day. Of course, neither I nor any of my buddies had a huge, custom made 1/10 scale course to drive our trucks on so we had to settle for someone's yard or the local park. We still always had an absolute blast though.
The video also shows that we did indeed bash on our Tamiya trucks back then too. Nobody had any idea that they would one day be called "vintage" and "collectable" and demand sky-high prices several decades later. Unfortunately, none of us kids had that kind of foresight. Oh well - we massively decreased the future resale value of our Tamiya R/C rucks but we sure had a lot of fun doing it!
I am getting my Tamiya R/C trucks (mostly Clod Busters and Bull Heads) out of long term storage, dusting them off, and restoring them so I can drive them again. The trucks are the exact same but the times sure have changed a lot. The radio and battery technology has changed drastically so I have a lot of catching up to do. I don't know though...I still love my old trusty Futaba Magnum 2PD radio. The newer radios feel so cheap and flimsy compared to my old Magnum that was made so incredibly sturdy. I doubt that I will replace it even though new radios are so much "better" on paper.
Thanks again for the walk down memory lane. The "Golden Age Of R/C" was a great time!

Did they realize all the monster trucks are actually clod buster just different bodies. The king cab is not 4wd as they say either. Super cool track. It crushes all tracks made today.
