      Pretty much... Casually speaking... Stay within range for max damage. Counter Guard. Always fully charge your PAs unless an attack is coming. Then spam your enhanced normal attack when needed.
      Also... Get your Custom PAs. Lv1 is good enough.
      For Rod
      Fire Ball + Range is disgusting.
      Wind + Range for Charged Version is okay.
      Light + Negate Attack is a godly.
      For Talis, hit scan CU PA is great.
      Multiweapon Rod and Talis to other weapons for better diverse options or cross over PA Effects.

    Reminds me of when I transitioned from Force to Hunter. I fell in love with the Avenger mechanic, and went from avoiding damage and not caring about chasing weak points, to taking a lot more risks and having to figure out ways to time my attacks for when the enemy animation exposes the weak point. I sometimes miss how easily Force can keep hitting weak points almost regardless of what the enemy is doing.

    Dear kero, at 9:58 ish, you can precast compound technique by using Z mode and aim at floor right in front of him. It is a useful technique for ranged classes including Fo and Ra.
    And yes, I agree, it is always a good idea to play a less stressful class once awhile. Even though it might be slightly lower dps, but it is much easier to play and not all contents need peak dps as well.

  • @sheetpostmodernist398
    @sheetpostmodernist398 Před 6 měsíci +3

    If you want to further mix things up for some variety, definitely try playing either Force or Techter on a talis. You can still used charged and uncharged techs, but the talis deployment gives you a third option that turns any tech into a rapid-fire elemental attack just by holding the button down, while one of the PA customs turns those attacks into a hitscan attack on your current target, avoiding any line-of-sight issues.
    I tend to swap main and sub-classes for Techter instead, since I prefer having Shifta/Deband to Photon Flare for the party buff, but I haven't done any research to really know the benefits of one over the other.
    I'm not _terribly_ concerned with DPS, since I just enjoy the gameplay (and I love weird multi-weapon and class combos), but there are definitely ways to optimize whatever setup you find you like the most, and just enjoy it.

  • @RareTechniques
    @RareTechniques Před 6 měsíci +2

    Rejuvenating interest in the game by trying a new class is such a great tip.
    Not sure if it was mentioned but there's a small window of invulnerability when using Compound Techniques, one has to time it just right which makes it a skill-based aspect of the Force class. One can use Zandion to gap-close and Fomelgion to clear mobs of enemies.

    SEGA needs to give Force a party buff ability, or rework the class, to make people want it in a high end content party. Its DPS is too low for what it brings to the table currently (except in specific content like PSE farming and Mining Rig).

    I play enough to the point where when I get a really good high fixa drop of whatever the current best weapons are, I'll switch to the class that can use it. My most recent drop was a fixa 4 reyarr boots. Multied soaring blades and have been learning how to play bouncer. Keeps the "take what you can get" mentality of looters while also keeping it varied. Typically I play Fighter main, but Force and Gunner are my 2nd favorites easily.

    I have a character for every single class. A lot of people, I found, take one character and level up every class... that would have been more efficient in some ways, but I prefer having a bunch of different ones so I can have different appearances and identities. Plus it means I get to do the story 8-9 times which means I actually remember the cut scenes! Ha ha. I wouldn't if I just saw them once. Anyway, alternating between the classes so much definitely keeps it varied. Right now almost all of them are at 85, one 82 and one 78.

    Yeah, Force is interesting to main class as at times, though I tend to use it as a sub-class simply for the PP recovery. I have four characters, and their main classes tend to be different. One, my current main, is currently maining Force, with the usual main of Bouncer as the sub. Another is a Ranger main, a third is a Waker main, and my first main character is a Braver main. All of the other three are using Force as a sub, for the PP recovery benefits, though I am likely to have my waker sub Hunter again for the defensive side of things due to how squishy a Waker consistently is.
    But yeah, the ground pound bit is worth it and gave force some consistent competitive burst dps, with the compound techniques being the main burst when timed right. Still, the class has come a long way since NGS launched.

    I'm sure you've seen this in the guide, but just remember that Technique Domination, which adds extra damage for downed targets, only applies to Techniques themselves. It does not apply to Rod Attack Impact or Compound Techniques.

    This game encourages people to play multiple classes, The devs designed it that way. It's pretty easy to level up multiple classes compared to other more traditional MMOs. Playing multiple classes and trying out the different weapons each class has adds lots of re-playablity to the game. If you've only stuck to playing 1 or 2 classes and feel bored with the game that's on you. Just saying.

    • @adamdevereaux2713

      I only play Hu/Br Sword and katana multi-weapon. Played consistently since launch and haven’t gotten bored.
      I’m from da early 00’s era of MMOs, where you made your own content. Even before Ver. 2, there were title rewards, races, cocoon/tower ranks, Gigantix and helpin’ new players, which made sure I never experienced burn out.

  • @konqrr

    Sidestep normal counter some attacks instead of parry because you can attack almost immediately, where parry has more recovery before you can attack.

  • @rootsofonetree9674
    @rootsofonetree9674 Před 6 měsíci +2

    I 100% agree that the secret to truly enjoying NGS is practicing with a handful of classes at a time. That way each day you can gear up as a different loadout and add some variance. It makes the game so much more enjoyable, at least for me. When my friends start to hit a burnout I try to get them to pick up a class they haven’t played in a while if at all.
    Also… I play Force suboptimally or not min-max because I play a Force/Fighter Rod/Daggers multiweapon. Which started because I do not enjoy the Rod’s weapon action. Previously I struggled to get solid potency, but with the augs being all potency currently it makes it even easier. My DPS is not as high as the Slayers and Bravers, but I give them 2-3 down states to punish per boss enemy.

    I'm glad you said that pso2 ngs feels like a brand new game that's how I felt when I sat down and start playing with a force
    Side note: compounds techniques have a faster charge by doing two things
    1. Matching the elemental weakness
    2. using a technique that hits more than one enemy.
    Megid and Zan are good for these.
    Zonde doesn't have the same properties anymore sense zonde use to be a projectile that had the same properties as megid (just faster and uses a electric hadoken that hits more than one enemy) except back then megid had a chance to incapacitate enemies as well as players
    (Long story)
    It's also good that you looked toward a guide just don't look at to many for i got tripped up especially when the game changes buffs and nerfs and properties on how moves work
    I laughed because the hard to master thing you said is true there is combos I practiced to match up with both classes
    But I'm debating with myself because......well it's a lot to explain in this comment take care glad that you're growing with he experience that comes with it
    Had to come back to say this last part
    Maximize dmg you could charge and right before you cast you could press dodge and let go of the button in the middle of the dash it hold the charge for you
    without having to hold and wait to get a good hit you could just
    Charge technic + dodge = automatic hold charge till you cast again

    I was Force main a long time ago, but never got around learning the small tricks to master the class. Personally i despise the compound techs for one reason only. Their cooldown. While farming in any high combat zones i literally have to wait for them to come off cooldown (all three) even with only using 1 skill point.

    I'd be interested in videos on the different classes. I've tried looking for class guides before, but there really don't seem to be that many videos, and the ones that do exist all seem to just go over the skill tree which isn't really a guide on how to play properly. Feels like there's no good content in this area.

  • @CalgarGTX

    What you really need to know about Fo is to not click on that class on the class selection menu and click anything else instead.
    It's had it's heyday somewhat during retem purps era when you could actually cause ele downs and time them but since it has been a wasted slot for anything else than PSE farming (and captans but thats ded too)
    Maybe some day sega will start playing their own game and learn how to design a mage/nuker class but for now this ain't it.

  • @strikerevimus
    @strikerevimus Před 6 měsíci

    I've actually been learning other classes over time, and I now know more about Force. Tricky stuff, but it's definitely one of the easier classes to learn. I also learned Gunner, and while it is complex, it's not convoluted. Once you know how Gunner works, it's easy to work with it. It's a little weird, being a range damage class that wants you to get right up into an enemy's face, but that's how it works. It's weapon action counters damage very well, sends damage back and will recharge the boost gauge which is your bread and butter. As for what the gauge does, it's simple, each number on the chain represents 1%, and what the number is when you do a second charged PA will add that boost of a percentage to your stats over-all. Given the max is 150, you get an increase to speed, dps and defense of up to 150%, that's nuts! Anyone who's seen me when I'm playing Gunner will tell you that I'm literally flying all over the field during a PSE burst and looking like a blur. No joke, I move that fast when I play Gunner and fully charge the chain boost. Another thing you want to do while battling a boss is to hold down a PA button, weapon action press, and you'll get more damage out and spread the damage than you would when holding the regular damage button. I still use regular PAs when I need to burst damage though, but that was a bit of a surprise when I was messing around with Gunner recently. Regardless, once you've got it down, you'll be doing DPS levels that rival those of Slayer. Actually, I was able to duo fight Giga Vardias as a Gunner without dying once, something I could only do before as a Waker. I couldn't even manage that as a Slayer. Now I imagine that the fight won't be as hard given what we can do now, but I do look forward to getting to see what I can do against a Gigantix that is similar to Giga Vardias in the future.

  • @absolstoryoffiction6615
    @absolstoryoffiction6615 Před 6 měsíci

    In terms of min maxing. Natural PP Regen is the only Stat which may cripple your DPS. But Natural PP Regen isn't a main issue for Mobbing and Bossing with Sub Slayer.
    Techture Sub is great for Compound Techs and Photon Flare is great for DPS with Techniques.
    That said... Slayer Main / Force Sub on a non 100% Crit Weapon (for current meta weapons) is great. Or Force/Slayer.
    Force/Fighter is good Vs Elemental Downed Targets but Slayer Sub out performs Fighter Sub in general use because of Crit Rate.
    Force/Waker is good for Team Healing. Akin to Techture/Waker.
    Oddly enough, Hunter/Force and Bouncer/Force are good for different reasons. One for Tanking and another for Elemental Downs/better Tech Casting.
    Ranger/Force is an interesting idea.
    However, Braver or Gunner / Force when using Rod/Talis, don't really energize. Although, Braver is a solid stand alone class while Gunner needs help in DPS. It's Chain Damage isn't up to par by comparison to Ranger. And as a Sub Gunner, it's horrible as you lose 3/4th of the Class Skills.
    Note: Most of these Main/Sub utilize Multiweapons in order to fully synergize. As Multiweapons do not negate the effects/damage of it's multiweapon material.
    Thus... Ranger/Force... Can Rifle + Rod for Blight (Team Support) then spam Elemental Tech for the Down Factor. As well as Ranger Rifle being godly right now and it aids in the Rod's lack of diverse PAs. Plus, you get an actual Counter Guard that's extremely forgiveable. On top of infinite PP Eradication.

Everytime u cast Grants when you are about to recieve damage, it will fire out the photon bullets and you dont need to waste time weapon actioning. During blue laser and red laser phase the photon bullets add up to a decent amount of damage. Give it a shot.

    I'm glad to see you enjoying the force. As a force veteran, I absolutely love the class. It has been severely underestimated by people who don't use it. The only problem is exactly what you pointed out: the low DPS. The force is underpowered, and it's something Sega really needs to address. Force has been fun personally. Though Kero, you should try out the Talis side of Force. If you think elemental downing with the rod is quick, you should customize the talis skills and try that out. Also handy tip if you ever think you need PP (don't think you need it considering the impact rotation) if you multi the talis and rod together, pop the Talis weapon action, it adds a small amount of damage but each hit is a PP gain. It is certainly handy. Also you should do a techter video later too. I find some of the techter skills really fun, though the attack and defense buff micromanaging is a bit annoying to have to keep doing (would be nice if they just made it a passive for being in a party and for those nearby)

    My mains are Fi/Bo with Double saber/Soaring Blade multiweapon and Hu/Sl with Partisan/Sword and I really enjoy playing them. Multiweapons really make things feel fresh as well especially when figuring out which ones synergize with eachother. And the support that the classes provide in my opinion make them even more valuable than just damage output.
