    Everyone was crying: Oh my god, these lions show no emotions, it's soo suuuck....They have no idea how hard to make something like this.

      Well that is true but it doesn't take away the enormous work behind it. The blame is not on the artists, it's on the lead animators or producers that (maybe) pressured the realistic look. There is so much research and lookdev bad decisions may come from pressuring producers who have a lot of powers over the overall production.
      Just guessing but it's obviously not a critic toward the artists :)

    • @DejiDigital
      @DejiDigital Před 4 lety +8

      i think as 3d artists, because we spend all our time on artstation and all our social media is filled with art, we forget how tiny our industry is and how far removed it is from mainstream thought and understanding. we as 3d artists in our tiny little bubble of an industry can appreciate the hard work our colleagues put into a project, be it a game, movie, etc, but the final product is the movie... not the behind the scenes. they're called "bonus features" on the DVD and not part of the damn movie for a reason. as a 3d artist, i love and am inspired by the technical and artistic achievements of the artists that worked on the movie. but as a movie goer and fan of the original movie, the movie is still a shit movie. and there's nothing wrong with admitting that. it says nothing about the artists ability. jurassic world has far superior effects to jurassic park, but everyone loves jurassic park far more because a movie is more than the vfx artist that worked 100 hour weeks to meet his/her deadlines.

    it is 1 in the night and I come from 9 hours of zBrush at work and still cant stop watching.
    But I have a question ...i know this is CZcams and not Zbrush forums but how does he see the backside of his model at 36:19 ?(he may have said it but I cant find it)
    Would make my day alot easyer knowing this.

    why blur the animal ref?

  • @jurandfantom
    @jurandfantom Před 4 lety +2

    1) I wonder why they create such details for places that will be covered by fur anyway? Because they can or why?
    2) Why blur those pictures? especially when you miss frame in 26:10 anyway.

    • @randomnickify
      @randomnickify Před 4 lety +1

      1. "it creates variation on the fur"
      2. copyrights - they most likely did not have permission to use this pictures, it nice to know some one realized that things you find on internet are not yours to use :)
