Wait. Some states have passed laws starting Jan 1, Diesel TT trucks can’t be sold or Registered. Electric trucks cost 3 times as much and can only travel 30-50% less. All that equals $$$$ at the checkout, IF it’s even avail.

We are the average household. 2 people and a cat. Husband retired, I collect a pension and still work. Tax at single rate, no dependents and contribute another $50 a week to cover taxes. Ridiculous.
so the 25% tax on unrealized gains - who will be investing in their 401k? not I... why would i invest in the market at all - if in one year my stock is up - i have to pay a tax on those gains... and then the following year - the stocks are down/markets down - do i get that $ back? not under the Harris plan... and then year 3 it goes up again - i pay another round of 25% - the reality is - you've paid more than you've earned... not worth it. you will see the stock markets collapse.

In CA, there is a price control on auto/home insurance. Many insurance companies are forced to stop insure new customers in CA since they couldn't make profits to cover their costs due to the price control. That drives insurance costs for home/auto in CA very very high. The state government now has to allow the insurance companies increase customer's auto/home insurance significantly to get them back to CA. The price control didn't work in CA's auto/home insurance at least. Everybody in CA knows it. Money talks.
IN my small town rent is not affordable - but a lot of it rests on county taxes that have gone through the roof, as well as homeowners insurance, plus wind and flood insurance. If you live in the city you're taxed for county tax as well. those that live in the county do not have to pay city taxes

USA first became the world's most productive economy in 1890, overcoming the economy of the British Empire. This was done well before the federal income tax was established. More taxes depress an economy. People try to avoid paying taxes. Less taxes mean more production, which in turn means more revenue to the government.
