Thanks for the excellent idea! Instead of using a piece of wood, would it be possible to use the metal grill instead to cover the entire area that the petsafe litterbox sits on? I just ordered my first Petsafe - I got the Ultra version. Thanks again for sharing!
Can you be more clear, what screen type did you use? It look like you place it directly under the litter. How do you secure it to the pet safe self cleaning box so it does not move? How do you remove the litter? I have a 12 lb Maine Coon. I also have the reusable pan I can put a pee pad in. And change it every 2 weeks. Right now I am changing litter every 2 weeks.
How did it work out for you and your cat? Did the cat like it, did the liter fall into the bin? Did the pee smell bc it collects in the bin? (Or did you put litter in the bin too)? I just purchased one of these and my biggest problem is my cats go in and play.. but don’t use the potty in it???
Super cool, I recently bought the scoop free litter box and it's awesome except for when the carts urinate alot it fill up too fast and indeed they are not too excited to go in there again. I have the forever tray and did a hack where the feces is collected in a bag and that works perfect, but now will have to do the urinae hack and your video is quite helpful. Tnx again

Hi there!! I am planning to buy a self cleaning box for my two cats: the male is 7kg (quite big) and the female is 3,5kg. I was thinking about getting the Scoopfree one but where I live (Spain), I can't get the forever litter tray and buying a new tray every 10-15 days is too expensive for me: I can't afford it. Trying to find a posible solution is how I found your video. What you did is quite interesting and can make me think about buying one of those but I can't get what you said about the screen for windows. What do you mean for a screen for windows? I can't get the idea of that `sandwinch´ at all. How can the urine drain with the screen and what is it for? Thank you very much indeed in advanced.
In the USA, a window screen is a framed piece of mesh that covers the window opening. It's a convenient way to keep out (a lot) of bugs while still allowing for air flow. Not a bad idea!! I bought all natural walnut shell litter and there is 0 smell so put that in your bottom container!

Also, with this set up, you don't need the permanent plastic "forever" tray, correct?
