Minzy is a hiphop based dancer and Somi was under I.O.I in cute concept, making them do feminine dance to show off sexiness is too much for one week as its their first time working together and the judge had said that their sense of rythm is definitely different
Kpop instructors only like feminine and uniform dances for girl groups. In my opinion Minzy has more power and interesting moves when she dances. That’s why I don’t like watching girl idol groups MV, cuz their dance isn’t very interesting.
i think for the experience they have this assignment wasn't hard. if this were an actual idol competition i think they definitely would've taken this way more seriously and been a bit more in sync. but the criticism that the choreographers gave them wasnt that harsh

minzy's preference and style of dance is much more powerful compared to Full Moon so of course transitioning from powerful hip hop moves to a more softer and sophisticated style will be awkward and stiff at first. but she's good and no one can deny that 😍

I understood what the male judge meant by stiff. At the beginning of the dance you could tell that Minzy was slightly off while somi was more fluid. Due to the fact that she isn't familiar with this type of dance style she seemed stiff and was not softening her lines. Minzy recovered towards the end though.
Minzy is hip-hop based so ig she wasn’t used to this concept
If they asked pre-debut Minzy to do this, she could've nailed it effortlessly. But after debut, her body got used to hiphop dances, add to it the fact that she ACTUALLY studied PROPER hiphop dance which is far from doing body waves that Kpop seems to love. 'Stiff' is just not a proper term to describe it. They haven't seen actual stiff people trying to dance. She is dancing to her style, and it's still executed with quality according to her style.
@@ZeePark21 i think the "stiff" the choreographer meant was possibly more towards the bit of awkwardness both of them had with the concept. i agree stiff probably wasnt the proper term
The dance instructor pointed it out perfectly, Minzy is a master, one of the best when she dance her fierce style, but because of her expertise, when she transition to soft moves, she clearly was not used to it, when he said stiff, it means that she hestitated in some moves, which is quite clear if you paid close attention to the performance. I believe this will be very good for her growth as a dancer, she wont be just fierce but can control when she want to be fierce and when she want to be smooth, like what BOA and Hyoyeon is capable of.

I don't understand what the guy teacher was saying. Minzy is anything but stiff. 😂 I thought she moved very fluidly in this, actually. I mean, she is an excellent dancer, after all. But I can agree to the girl teacher about them not having very symmetric/in-sync hand movements at some points. Overall, still a great job for Minzy & Somi. They retained the sultriness of the Full Moon choreo even if they injected some of their own moves. 😊
I'm pretty sure the judges were just harder on Minzy and Somi because they're dancers and have had more training than the others. Plus, since it's a variety show I guess it was to add a dynamic to it? Idk, I think the girls did fine but to keep them "humble" (like Abby Lee Miller says - Dance Moms) you can't tell them that :P

More like Mimzy dancing in those kind of heels and dancing sultry. She can dance sexily but I think she's inexperience with the Sunmi's-Full-moon-kind of sexiness

I think he only gave that as an excuse to fail them. They weren't stiff they were just too lax, the guy must've had a bigger expectation specially on Minzy since its her field of expertise for 10 years+ already and is proffesional. But all in all they were great and the girl instructor has sum it up more on what the duo lacks.
only the most successful people ( like Somi and Minzy )have haters. also for example ( Taeyeon , Twice and a lot of other successful idols :)) the haters is the reason why they are successful and famous ;)

He just wants the best for them and for them to be the best. That's why he said what he said. If he just complimented her then she wouldn't be able to improve. I'm sure she didn't think bad of it. She probably will use this as a chance to improve her feminine dances.
Lol Minzy's style is too powerful for this choreo, i feel like a proud mom. It's nice she's branching out with other dancing styles though it'll help her in the long run

Honestly speaking we must admit it that although Minzy is considered " a legendary dancer " her performance was indeed quite stiff , which shows that she is only used to more rough dancing . So technically he was right when saying that the performance was stiff and failing them , as they are idols , and should be an example to the other Unnies . On the other hand , unlike Minzy , Somi wasn't stiff but very alluring and smooth , which showcases that she can adapt faster to various styles . I know these girls are very hardworking , so I hope Minzy can take this critique and practice , like she always had . Somi was great , which is why that is disappointing . Fighting !
i totally agree with you!! i thought im the only one haha! even though i really love them both and they´re incredibly talented! but for me i prefer somis dancing :/ her moves just flow sooooo smoothly and her expressions are on point in all dancing styles that i´ve seen from her, despite being incredibly young! imagine how she will be when shes an adult woah!

OK so I get that this is a girl group project but like wtf - Sook is a comedian and her job is to make people laugh not look like a pro at dancing. Obviously she wasn't taking the choreo at the most serious level but the judges could've cut her some slack and loosen up the atmosphere - this isn't Produce 101 or Show Me The Money for god's sake... IT'S A VARIETY SOMEBODY REMIND THAT TO THE JUDGES ! If they really wanted to let Sook know her faults they could've used humor / satire at least...

Yes i agree with what u said but to the the judges it is insulting when they are really giving their best then their studendts just give some comedic act.. There are times to joke around and have fun they do kid around during practice but you never should play around when it's evaluation time..
Personally, I think the judges were staged to do that in order to give a contrast into the show. It does have a more interesting effect rather than going along and laughing at Sook's performance.

saw the dance part,hard to admit but Somi suited the dance more than Minzg esp in the 1st few seconds..our maknae is used to hiphop & freestyling but 2ne1 was rarely doing sexy concepts so she was prolly nervous in performing this choreo tho she slowly gained momentum & eventually felt the sexiness of the choreo near the end..Anyway,hoping Minzy took it as a positive criticism..she's a legendary dancer but she wasn't exposed to diff genres but she is free to do so now..fighting Minzy-ah!!!!!

She WAS 2NE1 Maknae in 2009-2016. But when she left 2NE1 late in 2016. She's not consider a 2NE1 Maknae. Because 2NE1 Disband as a three member Group....... so when they put 2NE1 songs , I don't think Minzy deserves that cause she left the group and she MADE such a drama when she post that YG and the girls didn't notify her for one LAST 2NE1 song. And she got many hate cause she can't have that excuse , she left 2NE1 so she can't take that shit out of them. But supposedly their all in good terms. And this show is KBS... KBS AND YG have lot of difference in surprise they put 2NE1 songs when they do some music when it comes to things but then again she isn't in YG maybe that's why. BUT YG can sue them tho cause they should ask permission besides minzy no longer a 2NE1 member so yea . NO HATE THO
