I ran into Les Blank at the Film Forum in NY last night. I asked if he could help me track down Herzog's compadres. He sent me an email address for Herzog's world sales. I'm gonna email them.

A good idea. Is that the German office? His brother Lucki runs things over there I think. If they can't direct you to this song then it probably really doesnt exist outside the two films. Post any good news here, if you would!
I loved this film and I find Popul Vuh's music so haunting... just incredible.

I couldn't find the music so I just ripped those scenes off of the "4 by Herzog" documentary compilation. The music is so beautiful.
Is the soundtrack for this film available (in particular this song)? It's brilliant.
Actually the music is used for Herzog's Aguirre as well, but it does not appear on the official soundtrack. I've been looking for ages.
