- USA Zippo Lighter Restoration Old | Restore and Repair Antique Lighter 100$ Zippo (Help)
Hi. We get a help from the United States. a mailer asking for help fixing an old zippo lighter. It has been inactive for a long time. It was seriously destroyed. We have carried out restoration of zippo lighters in many ways. We use some chemicals to clean the outside of the lighter. It is not possible to use a machine to clean the surface as it may destroy it. Some parts cannot be used, we conduct replacement. After a lot of effort we have completed restoring the old lighter. It has worked normally and is almost new. Thank you everyone for watching our video. Subscribe to the channel to follow the latest videos. Thank you. - Jak na to + styl
Help me share the video. If there are any errors in the video please let us know. Thank you. I love you
+Restoration Scrap As A Veteran Myself 4 Yrs. U.S.M.C. I Am Very Curious of American Products Left Behind During Vietnam War. You Might Want To Think of Having An English Student Do Subtitles For You. Also Most Viewers Want An Original Restoration. Fewer Viewers Will Like The Artistic Choices The Craftsman Makes. For Example Me, I Prefer Original Patina, Not The Matte Brown Patina Burned With Oil. Also I Did Not Like The Silver Paint. I, Like Most Viewer's, Will Tell You We Prefer A "Restoration" Back To The Original. Good Luck.
Yes can
The casing isn’t that old, it was made in June (F) 2016 (16) as marked on the base of the brass shell
Sx 2015 mà gửi từ usa về à làm màu quá
INSERT IS FAKE , WHEEL FLINT ... IVEN IS OK, THAT'S 15-20 $ LIGHTER , NOT 100 $..AND IT'S ONLY 4 YEARS OLD ZIPPO . NOT ANTIQUE
"antique"...manufactured in 2016
exactly what I thought.
What's worse is the owner could have just sent this to the Zippo plant at Bradford. lmao
@Bautista BARTOLOMÉ I don’t think most of these restorations were in as bad shape as he shows us. I think he ages them and then cleans them up.
@@blankpaper7903 they don't restore finishes. They just repair it.
@@PenaceaID Such lighters can be bought very cheaply in Vietnam. I bought such a fake myself for $ 5
Back in action boss. Nice work. Time to cut those nails.
david brown was gona say that’s a nice coke pinky but all of them are absurdly long 😂
Somebody get him nail clippers and a file. Maybe he could restore a set and use them!!!
Did you know zippo will restore them for free? Lifetime guarantee...
That was really funny!
@@cageyone1487 not the case but the inside yes
Great work now some needs to teach him to cut his nails lol
Jesus, thought I was the only one freaked out by that.
In some Asian countries it's a symbol of prosperity. I grow my finger nails also because of that same reason.
@@RaptorProducts1991 I was going to point out it's a cultural difference but having said that now I gotta go trim my nails, lol
Yeah I’m sure the man knows how to do all that, but can’t figure out how to cut his nails.
Some engineers that work with small parts all the time keep them long as "tweezers"
GREEEEEEEEAAAAAAAT JOB KID. WAAOOOO. YES SIRRRRRRERR
Very Nice Restoration
Từ new York mà giấy hải tiến ạ
So glad it wasn’t an actual old vintage zippo, sorry if I’m rude but the lighter would’ve been better off how it was...this restoration was bad.. plus I feel bad for the dude that paid $100
All going smoothly then randomly trashes the internals with paint.. wtf?
+Alex Irving Yeah, That Too Was My Only Minor Complaint, I Would Say That This Video Would More Accurately Be Described As A Customization. Not A Restoration. Also Subtitles Would Be Helpful.
The lighters from 2016.... either way who gives a fuck. This is not a restoration on an antique. He barely did a good job, let alone lied to us big time.
Never paint the internals
@@scottjones2564 one does not simply paint the internals
-2016 is not antique.
-The hole in the felt is not for filling.
-Gasoline is not fuel for a Zippo.
-Wear gloves.
-Kids, don't even think of trying this at home.
Exactly the only fuel you should ever use is the obm Zippo fuel or Ronsonol
Gasoline and other less flamable liquids will ruin the wick
And... Who wants coating on their insert?
In my opinion, that is not considered as "antique." It is shown in the bottom that it was manufactured in the year 2016. Moreover, based on my research, you can consider a thing an antique when it's around 100 years old
Nice lighter.
Antique lighter lol, Lighter was made june 2016.
Should be rusty lighter despite antique one
I checked and you are correct sir. I did not know that the date was on there like that . Thanks
Yep thought the same, must have been in the sea since new.
I really laughed, when I saw the stamped year, besides, gold doesn't rust or corrode, so it must be brass, and that thing ain't worth 100 bucks.
What tipped me off was how clean the spring was when he pulled it out.
Well done thanks
Ill have to look for one of those. This one is particularly interesting as the figure is that of Guan Yu. An important figure in Chinese culture. He was a general for the house of Shu, and one of the Five Tigers, and friend of Liu Bei. And was named the God of War. He fought in many wars during Han Dynasty.
Don't mind me geeking out about Chinese history. I love it.
・ The wick does not cut.
・ Do not paint inside.
• Sand cleaning should be done slowly in a larger container to allow the sand inside to flow.
・ After soaking in acid, it should be washed with a larger amount of clean water. You should also wear gloves.
As above, health and safety, gloves, goggles. Watch a few videos, so you know what to do.
Você é muito bom. Parabéns.
Very good
Great job
Năm 2015 mà gửi từ Mỹ về HN - mà rỉ kiểu đó nữa. Khó tin nhỉ.😊
To be honest, I didn't think there would be any metal left after the rust was removed. Surprise, surprise. Nicely done.
mịa. cái zippo trung quốc sx năm 2016. bày đặt from USA
❤😊 Enjoyed your video. Do motorcycle or tractor restore.
Nice, but why did you hydrodip the inner workings? its just gonna scrape off. Been better off polishing. After you put fluid in it, it will break the paint down.
Agreed Scott, stupidity......not a fan of hydro dipping anything.....especially on an item that's pitted like the inner liner on this bad boy.....looks like crap and will only get worse. As well, the cocaine nails have to go!
Should of just sent it into zippo they would have gave him all new inners.
Ralph Glesmann 😂😂😂😂👍👍👍
i prefer the look and feel of bare brass myself
@@ralphglesmann1214 the cocaine nails?...thats like calling him a hippy.
this is a FOUR YEAR OLD lighter...where in the world was it kept to get it into that condition?
It was most likely artificially degraded to catch views!
The spring is too new =)))
River
Right a 2016, older ones were stamped and not script along with tic mark's. Hydrochloric and sulfuric acid would have eaten that lighter am sure it was weak acid.
Nice video. Awesome idea with the drill and sand filled bottle.
Nice workmanship.
Nice work
This really turned out nice. 👍
Nice Job. Thank you!

I am not an expert in handwriting but, the handwriting on every package sure looks like the same person wrote it.
That is not a valid US phone number, no one writes 1's like that in New York, and where the hell would you buy HAI TIEN paper in the US?
@@pmolan lol
You said if there are any errors to let you know well you painted the insert, lighter fluid is naphtha, naphtha is also marketed as paint thinner. That combined with the friction of sliding in and out of the case that paint will not last very long and honestly it doesn’t look very good painted to begin with, it should be bare metal.

Beautiful job 👏
How the hell did a June 2016 Zippo land up in that condition. I am a collector and when i saw the date code, thought something was dodgy
They artificially age them for "restoration" videos. Complete lie.
how can u all say this man done a bad job on the lighter??? dont matter how old it is.. the thing was messed up and he fixed it..and it works great as he showed u...man ppl dont appreciate nothing nemore in this world...the 100 dollar price was to steap i agree but u gotta remember these guys use there on stuff to do this and im sure that cost money to buy...like the chemicals they use..and he did clean the lighter at the end so he was being safe and considerate...nice job man u did really go0d
you are a magician !
Good Restoration Done 👍
Thumbs up 👍
👏 👏
Parabéns!!
Wow what an amazing zippo restoration!
Restoration 7/10. You could have done it much better. (Awesome restorations)
Good
incredible past zivo
You are supposed to use the whole wick. Then wind it in between the rayon (cotton) back and forth with each piece
Think of letter Z or S
Beautiful👍👍👍
Wow fantastic greetings from Indonesia
Question: What wheels are you using on the 4.5 inch side grinder?
I love this lighter ☺
There is a European bloke who specialises in lighter restorations as well...you use similar methods to him including using the drill for the sand tumbling of the small parts...great job
Ye awesome restorations… man love his vids.
Cut nail and wear glove please, love your job
Al weer een mooi resultaat, fantastisch.
Congratulations!!!!

100$? Better to buy a new one..
Couldn't agree more. If he did that he'd have no video to show off his skills. Fast forward to the end! Lol
Good job 👍👍👍
Very nice job!
Good job guys 👍
He should nickel plated the lighter part, pissed it when he putted in white paint.
that spring was in a surprisingly good condition compared to the rest of the zippo
Nice
So who’s the genius who paid you $100 to repair their “antique” (2016) zippo? They could’ve sent it to zippo and they would’ve repaired it for free.
Its sleal is cheaper to send to this guy and country to be repaired
Fun Video 👍😎👍😁👏😎👏
I think that you did a fantastic job on this lighter , I have enjoyed your work very much
Well Done
Good job .man👍

Thanks for the comments

the insert looked better without painting man
Nicely done. I particularly like your videos because you don't use any specialized tools that most people wouldn't have.

amazing
💅🏼very nice))
Very nice work!!
If it was me, i would only fix the outer shell, then go to any Walmart, buy the cheapest Zippo you can find, and just remove the inner part, fits right in. New everything.
Collectors like matching inserts, however this is a 2016 lighter and for practical use, I very much agree with just replacing the insert. That said, I don’t smoke, so I guess you could put me in the collector category.
I know you do smaller stuff most of the time but you should find an old pro scooter and restore it it would be really cool
Wow VN 😍
where did you buy the small parts of the zippo?
Great... And what is the fluid that you use to the lighter?
The engraving resembles the logo for my old unit: Marine Corps 1/9 (walking dead). Do you have a better image of the engraving?
Dân chơi zippo xem clip xong chắt khóc thét vì cái ruột zippo làm ẩu toàn tập.🤢
