      @AJ XOXO It's simply nostalgia. I'm sure there are some excellent specimens from the 50s, 60s and 70s, however, today's guitars are made with much better precision. The independent pickup manufacturers also turn out a much more consistent product. Any good luthier will be able to cut a nut properly as well as level and crown frets to perfection.

    I had an amazing 73 Strat. I miss that guitar dearly. It was a Daphne blue nitro refin with maple fretboard. Just an incredible player. It changed a lot of people’s minds about 70’s Stratocasters. I admit it was hands down the best one I’ve played so maybe it was a 1/1000 guitar. But they do exsist. Mine was a tremolo guitar but wasn’t heavy at all.

      The coolness of a GOOD 70s guitar will never die…
      And some were really good. It’s not just hype. Just because something was made pre-1970, or came from the custom shop, that doesn’t mean it’s not a turd. There were just some really bad cost-cutting decisions made that can make or break a particular guitar, that’s a fact.

    • @Sean_Plays_Guitar
      @Sean_Plays_Guitar Před 3 lety +1

      @@j_freed I can agree with that entirely. I think that the bad ones overshadowed the good work that was making it out there to the world. Probably overshadowed some of the innovations that were valuable as well. The 70’s was a learning experience for sure. But at this point, if a 70’s guitar is still playable, it’s one of the good ones. The turds are all in the landfill I think 😂

    Yes PLEASE do a year authentication vid. Us Strat aficionados can never get enough of that and I am an early 70's fanatic.

    It sounds amazing. And definitely wins the mojo contest. The sticker’s a natural fit. Like it was meant to be.

    I got a lot of stuff, and make quite a few teles and Strats - my 75’ Stratocaster was my number 1 , and still is to this day

    The best 70s strat I played was a sunburst 73 hardtail belonging to Walter Trout when he kindly invited me to join him on stage 🤘
