  • Hello everyone! Thank you for watching my video tour. I am a seasoned traveller, I love visiting new places and finding great deals.
    A few months ago when we were looking for an all inclusive vacation in Mexico, I found that there are not a lot of video tours on CZcams. Well, there are lots but not as detailed as I like them to be😃.
    I like doing my “homework” before I book a trip, so reviews and video tours are high on my list.
    I want to provide you as much info as possible and give you a thorough tour of the resort/trip.
    Ask questions and feel free to add comments.
    Hope you find it helpful!

    Wife and I will be staying here in a few weeks. Your video is about what we expect. Two questions, did you see anyone smoking cigars and what brands of rum and tequila were they serving? Did you see Havana Club rum?

      Hello! I did see people smoking cigars. Locals still sell cigars on the beach. Important to note that effective January 15, Mexico has banned smoking in all public places, including beaches too. Having said that, I did see a lot of people smoking in the beach area of the hotel and of course there is a designated smoking area on the beach and three designated smoking areas in the hotel as well. As for rum and tequila brands: rum for sure they have the Bacardi brand - white and dark rum, but they don’t have Captain Morgan. They have the Malibu coconut rum too. Tequila- Don Julio, Casadores, Patron and Jose Cuervo what I can remember. I don’t remember seeing Havana Club. Hope you have a wonderful time at this resort!:)

      Hahaha, I swear this comment could've been written by me. I'm travelling there with my wife in a month and I'm also curious about cigar smoking areas, as well as the types of tequilas they have and whether or not they have Havana Club. It's the only rum I drink now if I have the option.

    We are here right now March 16th, nice place but definitely dated compared to some resorts. Staff are nice, but total lack of washrooms, AND NO CAPTAIN MORGANS but starting to really like Bacardi spiced rum😅. Elevators are super slow so if you’re on the 6th floor it’s alota walking. Sports bar is definitely not a happening place like we’ve experienced at other resorts.( being an Oilers fan) But overall nice place. Cheers

      Hi Calvin, agreed with the dates part and your comments. Did you walk over to the Vallarta and spend some time there? If you haven’t and you still have time to do, I highly recommend:)
      Enjoy the rest of your time there!

      Hello! Well, it depends what’s important for you. Want to have a nicer room, a bit better food and a more elegant and modern hotel/ground? Stay at the Vallarta.
      Want to save a couple hundred dollars, have a nicer beach and don’t really care that the hotel is a bit outdated? Then stay at the Jalisco. Oh and the White party is at the Jalisco too. It’s a great party. 😃

    Definitely planning to go with my friend and maybe my sister next year sometime, how much did it cost in total for your 7 day stay we plan to stay for 2 weeks. I seen some package that was close to $2000 dollars but would be nice to know what you spent so we have an idea. Definitely would love some extra spending cash to use. Also is the restaurant in there free, what I’m asking I guess is everything you eat and drink on the resort free? Looks amazing though and I think we’d enjoy it there

      Hi Joshua. Winter months are definitely more expensive but I found that both the Riu Jalisco and Riu Vallarta were well priced, and in my opinion the best value. At least they were in February this year. February is peak season but we got a pretty good deal. We paid $1100 per person. There are some amazing deals right now, I’ve seen the Jalisco one week all inclusive package on Sunwing direct flight from Calgary in June for less than $800 per person. Who knows where the prices going to be next year but I think 2k for two weeks is a good estimate. Yes, all the food and drinks are included (except some specialty options of course such as private romantic dinner on the beach or if I remember correctly, there was a special kind of steak and seafood at the steakhouse you had to pay for. And some specialty wine also). We were quite happy with the food selection and a la carte restaurant menus and drinks were just fine too. It is a fun place and a lot to do. Watch my Riu Vallarta video as well for comparison. Nicer property, freshly renovated. Sometimes the price difference is very minimal between the two hotels and if it is, I would choose to stay at the Vallarta:)

      @@evah8826 Thank you for the reply and glad everything was great. I will definitely check out your other video for comparison and check out the packages around February like you said to and see if it will be cheaper but yes I agree 2000 is probably that range. I appreciate the response though and glad you both enjoyed your stay. Keep up the great work, much love

    I have watched several tours of the hotel and never see a coffee maker in the rooms. So I will need to bring my own to make morning coffee?

      @evah8826  Pƙed 8 měsĂci

      Hello, you are right, unfortunately there is no coffee maker in the rooms. You can get your morning coffee at the sports bar close to reception. They make good coffee there. Including lattes, cappuccino, mocha etc. they serve regular coffee at the buffet restaurant as well. I would suggest you message the hotel directly and check if you can request one. I never asked but they might have coffee makers on request.

    • @evah8826
      @evah8826  Pƙed rokem

      Hello Iris. They don’t ask for your credit card info when you check in so there is no security deposit. At check out they would charge you for anything extra, like if you lost a towel etc and they are pretty strict about those things. And yes, all good and drinks all included. Some hotels have higher end alcohol you have to pay for but I don’t believe this hotel offers that. I saw some deals from Calgary in May and June for under a $1000 per person. Even with some blemishes this hotel has, faj deal like that is amazing in my opinion. I would totally go back if I had the time to take off work:)

    There are three riu resorts next to each other there (Vallarta, Jalisco, and palace) do you have access to all the resorts and restaurants if you stay at one. We are staying at the Riu Vallarta. Can we access all the resorts there?

    • @evah8826
      @evah8826  Pƙed rokem +1

      Hello Ahmed. No, you don’t have access to the Palace at all. The Palace is actually a bit further away, about a 10 minute walk from the Jalisco. You have access to the Jalisco and you are welcome to use the facilities there and have breakfast, lunch, snack bar and drinks there. Dinner is only at the hotel you are staying at. I highly recommend you going over to the Jalisco for the White Party on Friday. Hope you will have a great time!

    Nice video! Would you recommend this hotel or Rui Vallarta for kids? What kind of daily activities do they have for kids 10 and under. Thanks.

    • @evah8826
      @evah8826  Pƙed rokem

      Hello Ravi. The kids club and activities are pretty much the same at both hotels. The Jalisco is has more shaded areas and a nicer beach with lots of palm trees and the pool close to the kids club/kids play and pool is cool. The hotel and the rooms are nicer at the Vallarta though. I think both hotels have their pros and cons but both would be fun to stay at. So it really depends what’s important for you:)

    Is the volleyball court the only sport thing they have? No tennis courts? We are going to the Riu Jalisco with teens in a few weeks. Also, what is the weekly theme party?

    • @evah8826
      @evah8826  Pƙed rokem

      Hello Stacey! No tennis court at this resort, but they have water sports in the main pool in the afternoon. Water volleyball, fun games, like throwing football through a small ring. They have bocce ball in the sandy area too and a couple of ping pong tables. My teenage girl played both water volleyball and beach volleyball every day. One day my girls did parasailing off the beach which they loved. Of course that is not for free, for the two of them we paid $160 US. I did a half an hour Seadoo ride one day as well and it was super fun. That was $50 US. You can go solo or two of you on one Seadoo for the same price. The White Party on Friday is really cool! We had a blast. They sure put on a great show. Make sure you pack some white clothes:) hope you have a great time!

    Good evening, guys. Were you satisfied with your standard room? Advise , on with side is better to choose such a room? So, where did you like better: Rui Jalisco or Rui Vallarta Thanks
    Best regards Elena

    • @evah8826
      @evah8826  Pƙed rokem +1

      Hello Elena, thank you for your message. The rooms are much nicer at the Riu Vallarta as the rooms recently went through renovations. We stayed at a standard room at the Jalisco and other than it being a bit dated, it was fine. We did switch rooms as our first room had two double beds pushed together, which we found uncomfortable so we asked for a room with a king size bed. The first room did have a musty smell and was more than usual humidity inside the room. This is not unusual in Mexico though. Our second room was in the right wing of the hotel (right side when you face the ocean, and it was definitely better. You can hear noise coming from the hallway and others slamming doors but the out facing rooms are more quiet than the inside facing ones.
      So short answer is Riu Vallarta has nicer rooms but you pay more. Sometimes the price difference is minimal so if you are not on a tight budget, I would book the Vallarta.
